Rise of the Otherworld.

Chapter 603 A New Journey (8)

As they emerged from the eerie mist, warm sunlight bathed them, a testament to their fortitude. They breathed in the fresh air, feeling the joy of surviving. The sunlight, like a golden veil, gently enveloped their weary bodies, every inch of their skin greedily absorbing the warmth and tranquility.

Zhang Hao gazed at the endless landscape ahead, a flood of emotion filling his heart. "We've endured so much hardship, and finally, we've made it through." His voice carried a hint of fatigue, but more so, an anticipation for the future. His eyes were firm and penetrating, as if he could see through the secrets hidden in this unknown land. Though his clothes were tattered, his upright posture still exuded an air of indomitable spirit.

The black-robed man stretched his muscles. "But this may just be the beginning." His gaze was deep, as if he was contemplating the challenges he might face. His black robe swayed gently in the breeze, revealing a robe shimmering with a mysterious light. The light was faint, as if telling of his past glory and mystery.

The old man smiled and nodded, "No matter what, we must bravely move forward." The staff in his hand gleamed in the sunlight, its light like a cluster of stars, dazzling and captivating. The gems inlaid on the staff shone brightly, and each flicker seemed to convey ancient wisdom and power. The wrinkles on his face were deepened in the sunlight, but they also highlighted his calmness and open-mindedness after experiencing hardships.

The herbalist and the woman smiled at each other. Having endured this test of their souls, their eyes held a calm and resolute look. Though the herbalist's backpack had been damaged in the battle, the herbs within still exuded a delicate fragrance. The woman's long hair fluttered in the wind, a few strands plastering her slightly pale face, adding a touch of softness and resilience.

"So where should we go next?" the woman asked softly. Her voice was like a mountain spring, clear and melodious, yet tinged with a hint of confusion and unease.

Zhang Hao looked up into the distance and said, "Let's explore this unknown area first and see if we can find any clues related to where we came from." His eyes were firm and persistent, as if he had already seen the road ahead.

Everyone nodded and started a new journey.

They walked through a lush forest. The trees towered to the sky, their branches intertwined to form a vast green canopy. Birds sang cheerfully in the branches, as if welcoming them. The breeze rustled the leaves, a beautiful symphony of nature. In the grass, colorful wildflowers bloomed, emitting bursts of fragrance.

"This place is truly beautiful, yet filled with unknown dangers." The herbalist observed his surroundings cautiously. His steps were light and careful, each one carefully chosen for fear of disturbing the dangers lurking in the forest.

Suddenly, a deep roar echoed from the depths of the forest. Everyone was immediately alert and gripped their weapons tightly. The roar echoed through the forest like thunder, shaking the leaves off the trees.

A massive white tiger slowly emerged from the shadows. Its eyes were majestic and cold, and its fur stood up like steel needles. Every hair gleamed with a cold light, like a natural armor. Its steps were steady and powerful, and each step made the earth tremble slightly.

"Be careful!" Zhang Hao shouted. His voice broke the brief silence and instantly made everyone's nerves tense to the extreme.

The white tiger opened its bloody mouth and pounced towards them. The hot air from its mouth was accompanied by a strong fishy smell.

Zhang Hao dodged sideways, slashing at the white tiger with his sword. The blade arced through the air, accompanied by a sharp whistling sound. The white tiger nimbly dodged, turning to attack again. Its claws, like sharp blades, slashed through the air, stirring up a gust of wind.

The black-robed figure cast a spell, sending beams of light shooting towards the white tiger. Like a meteor, the light streaked across the sky, illuminating the entire forest. The white tiger, enraged, attacked even more ferociously. Its speed was as swift as lightning, a breathtaking sight.

The old man and the herbalist also joined the fray, engaging in a fierce battle with the white tiger. The old man waved his staff, unleashing powerful spells. The herbalist, using his agility, dodged the tiger's attacks and sought opportunities to strike back.

The woman watched nervously from the side, searching for an opportunity to offer help. Her palms were sweaty, her heart in her throat.

After a bitter fight, the white tiger was finally subdued. It fell to the ground, gasping for breath. Its eyes no longer had the initial majesty and ferocity, replaced by a hint of fatigue and helplessness.

"Perhaps it's just protecting its territory." The woman looked at the white tiger with pity in her eyes. She walked forward and gently stroked the white tiger's head.

Zhang Hao nodded and said, "Let it go."

The white tiger seemed to understand what they said. It stood up and slowly disappeared into the depths of the forest.

The group continued on, passing through the forest until they came to a broad river. The water rushed endlessly, its waves crashing against the rocks on the shore, making a loud noise. The splashing water, illuminated by the sunlight, formed beautiful rainbows.

"It's not easy to cross the river," the old man said, looking at the turbulent river. His brows were furrowed as he pondered how to cross the river.

Just as they were thinking about how to cross the river, a small boat slowly came from a distance. The boatman was a kind-looking old man who smiled and waved to everyone.

"Come on up, children. I will take you across the river."

Everyone boarded the small boat, which swayed in the river and slowly sailed towards the other side.

When they set foot on the land on the other side, new adventures await them...
