Rise of the Otherworld.

Chapter 562 A Journey to a Dangerous Place

Zhang Hao and his team embarked on a dangerous journey to the treasure land with full determination and expectation.

Along the way, the scenery gradually shifted from bustling towns to desolate mountain forests. The rugged mountain road twisted and turned, flanked by tall, gloomy trees, their branches intertwined, nearly obscuring the sky. Sunlight struggled to filter through the gaps between the leaves, casting patches of light and shadow, but it couldn't dispel the eerie atmosphere that permeated the forest.

"This road is so difficult to walk on," the herbalist complained as he carefully avoided the stones under his feet. His forehead was covered with sweat and his breathing became rapid.

Zhang Hao walked in front, with the sword in his hand ready to deal with any possible danger at any time: "Everyone be careful, this place is weird." His eyes scanned the surroundings vigilantly, not missing any trace of movement.

Before he could finish his words, a gust of wind blew past, blinding everyone. The wind swept up fallen leaves and dust from the ground, forming a small tornado that raged around them.

When the wind died down, they found the atmosphere around them even more eerie. From time to time, the distant cries of unknown wild animals echoed through the valley, sending chills down their spines. The once quiet forest seemed to spring to life, filled with unknown danger and fear.

"Everyone, stay together. Don't fall behind." The old man's voice was a little nervous. He held the staff tightly in his hand. The gem on the staff flickered faintly, as if illuminating the way forward for them.

As they continued to move forward, the road beneath their feet became increasingly muddy, requiring a great deal of effort to take each step. The mud clung tightly to their shoes, making their steps heavy and slow.

Suddenly, a huge python jumped out of the tree and pounced on them with its bloody mouth wide open. The python's body was as thick as a tree trunk, and its scales shone with a cold light in the weak light.

"Be careful!" Zhang Hao shouted, swinging his sword towards the python. His movements were swift and decisive, and the sword drew an arc in the air, slashing towards the python's head.

The python twisted its body flexibly, avoiding Zhang Hao's attack. Its tail swished violently, attacking the black-robed man.

The black-robed man quickly joined the fight, his weapon leaving scars on the python. His eyes were firm, and each attack was full of power.

The herbalist took the opportunity to throw out a poison made from herbs, trying to paralyze the python. The poison turned into a green smoke in the air and floated towards the python.

With everyone's concerted efforts, the python was finally subdued. Its body fell heavily to the ground, raising a cloud of dust.

"Keep going, don't stop." Zhang Hao wiped the sweat from his face and said. There was no relaxation in his eyes, because he knew that this was just a small episode in the journey, and there were more dangers waiting for them ahead.

After several days of arduous journey, they finally arrived at the treasure entrance marked on the map.

The entrance was filled with a thick fog, making it impossible to see what was inside. The fog seemed to have life, slowly flowing and making people feel daunted.

"This fog is unusual, everyone be careful," the old man warned, his voice and shadow blurred in the thick fog.

Zhang Hao took a deep breath and walked into the thick fog first. The others followed closely behind, holding hands tightly, afraid of getting separated.

In the thick fog, they could only hear each other's breathing and footsteps. Everything around them became blurry and unclear, as if they had entered an illusory world. Suddenly, there was a sound of a mechanism being activated in front of them.

"Oh no, there's a trap!" Zhang Hao shouted.

Countless arrows rained down from all directions, their arrowheads flashing coldly in the thick fog. Everyone hurriedly dodged, and Zhang Hao brandished his sword, shooting down the arrows that were shot at them.

The man in black robe used his agile body to move through the rain of arrows.

The herbalist and the old man huddled together tightly, and the old man kept casting spells, trying to slow down the rain of arrows.

However, the rain of arrows became more and more intense, and they gradually found it difficult to cope with it.

Just then, Zhang Hao found a place to hide.

"Hurry, hide over there!" he shouted.

Everyone quickly ran in the direction Zhang Hao pointed, and finally hid in a small cave in the gap between the rain of arrows.

"What should we do? We can't be trapped here forever." The herbalist said anxiously.

Zhang Hao frowned, thinking about countermeasures.

"Everyone, take a rest first and recover your strength. I'll think of a solution." Zhang Hao said.

They temporarily hid in the cave to avoid the rain of arrows, their hearts filled with anxiety and uneasiness, but they knew that no matter what, they could not give up...
