Rise of the Otherworld.
Chapter 475: The Monster Emerges
The tremors in the valley intensified, as if the entire world were shaking. Zhang Hao, the herbalist, and the old man stood at attention, a tense atmosphere permeating the air. The ground heaved and undulated, rubble and dust flying everywhere, making it almost impossible to open your eyes.
"Boom!" With a resounding explosion, one side of the valley collapsed, and a black aura gushed out, instantly filling the entire valley. The aura was as thick as ink, carrying a sickening stench and an oppressive, evil air. Wherever it passed, the grass and trees withered instantly.
Amidst the black aura, a massive figure gradually emerged. Its towering form filled nearly half the valley. Its body was covered in hard scales, each the size of a shield, gleaming with a dim light. Its blood-red eyes radiated an endless, murderous glare, as if capable of devouring even the soul.
"Is this the monster?" The herbalist's voice trembled, his fear nearly making him unable to stand. His legs trembled constantly, and he could barely hold the stick in his hand.
Zhang Hao remained calm and said, "Don't be afraid, we will follow the instructions of our predecessors." Although his voice was firm, his slightly trembling hands betrayed his inner nervousness.
The old man looked solemn, "This monster is very powerful, we must not attack rashly." His eyes were fixed on the monster, his brain working rapidly, thinking about how to deal with it.
The monster roared, the sound waves impacting everyone's eardrums and making their hearts tremble. The sound was like a roar from hell, shaking the rubble in the valley.
"Test its weakness first," the old man shouted. His voice was faint amidst the roar, but it still reached the ears of Zhang Hao and the herbalist clearly.
Zhang Hao flashed, slashing at the monster with his sword like an arrow from a bow. His figure was as swift as a ghost, stirring up a gust of wind. The monster swung its massive claws, stirring up a gust of wind that whistled towards Zhang Hao. Zhang Hao narrowly avoided the attack, the claws brushing past him, the residual wind grazing his cheek.
The herbalists took the opportunity to throw some hidden weapons made of herbs. Those hidden weapons flashed green light and flew towards the monster. But when the hidden weapons hit the monster, they bounced off instantly like raindrops hitting stone, and had no effect on the monster.
The monster was enraged and charged towards them. Its footsteps were heavy, and every step made the ground tremble. Its huge body was like a moving mountain.
"Disperse!" the old man shouted, his voice filled with authority and urgency.
The three of them quickly dispersed, leaving the monster empty-handed. Its impact was too powerful, and it crashed directly into a boulder, shattering it instantly.
"This isn't a solution. We must attack together," Zhang Hao shouted. His forehead was covered in sweat and his breathing became rapid.
The old man nodded and said, "I will attract its attention, and you look for opportunities to attack." His eyes were firm, without any intention of retreating.
With that, the old man leaped into the air and unleashed a powerful spell. Light shone brightly, like falling stars, as it attacked the monster. The spell transformed into streaks of light, striking the monster, sending up showers of sparks.
The monster was attracted by the old man's attack and focused all its attention on him. Zhang Hao and the herbalist took the opportunity to attack from both sides.
Zhang Hao's sword pierced the monster's armor, sending sparks flying. The powerful recoil numbed his arm. The herbalist's stick struck the monster, like a tickle, causing no damage at all.
The monster roared and turned to attack them, but the old man attacked again, pinning the monster down.
After the fierce battle, all three were exhausted, but the monster didn't seem to have suffered much damage. Although it had some shallow scars on its body, they were insignificant compared to its massive body.
"Are we going to die here today?" the herbalist said in despair. His voice was tearful, and his face was filled with despair and fear.
"Don't give up, there must be a way." Zhang Hao said through gritted teeth. His eyes remained firm, and the belief in his heart supported him to refuse to give up.
At this moment, Zhang Hao discovered a soft spot on the monster's abdomen. The scales there were not as hard, which seemed to be its weak point.
"Attack its abdomen!" Zhang Hao shouted loudly.
The old man and the herbalist heard Zhang Hao's shout and immediately adjusted the direction of their attack.
The old man cast a powerful spell again, and the light gathered into a beam and shot towards the monster's abdomen.
Zhang Hao and the herbalist also took the opportunity to rush forward, using all their strength to attack the monster's abdomen.
The monster sensed their intention and twisted its body desperately, trying to dodge, but the three people's attack was too fast and hit its abdomen.
The monster let out a painful roar, its voice filled with anger and unwillingness.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, the three launched another round of attacks.
The monster's movements gradually slowed down, and it finally fell to the ground...
