Chapter 412 The Mystery of the Cave
As they rushed into the cave, the light suddenly grew stronger, blinding them. The intense light felt like countless sharp needles, piercing their retinas and forcing them to instinctively shield themselves from the light with their hands.
As the light gradually faded, they could finally see the scene inside the cave. The walls were inlaid with all sorts of exotic gems, emitting a dazzling array of light, illuminating the entire cave like a dreamscape. Some of the gems resembled azure waters, some resembled burning flames, and some resembled emerald green leaves, their brilliance dazzling and captivating.
"What on earth is this place?" a disciple exclaimed, his voice filled with disbelief and awe of the unknown, his eyes wide open, as if he wanted to take it all in.
Zhang Hao looked around, his heart full of doubts: "Such a mysterious place must be hiding unknown secrets." His eyes were deep and sharp, trying to find a clue from this strange scene.
Just then, they discovered a huge stone platform deep in the cave, on which lay a scroll emitting an ancient aura. The cover of the scroll was old and yellowed, as if it carried the weight of countless years and vicissitudes.
Mo Ying stepped forward and tried to pick up the scroll, but was repelled by an invisible force. His body flew backwards and fell heavily to the ground.
"Be careful!" Zhang Hao shouted, his voice anxious and worried, and he quickly ran over to help Mo Ying up.
Feng Wuhen observed the surrounding situation and said, "There seems to be some kind of restriction." His brows were furrowed, and his eyes swept across the stone platform, trying to find a flaw in the restriction.
The woman looked at the stone platform carefully and suddenly said, "Look, there are some strange symbols on the stone platform." Her voice was crisp and decisive, and her finger pointed at the mysterious symbols.
Everyone gathered around and began to study the symbols. They were twisted and curved, like ancient totems, and were very confusing.
After some discussion, they discovered that these symbols seemed to be the key to unlocking the restriction. Zhang Hao, relying on his wisdom and experience, attempted to decipher them. His eyes were focused and serious, and beads of sweat gradually seeped onto his forehead.
As the seconds ticked by, beads of sweat covered their foreheads. Each of them stared at Zhang Hao nervously, their hearts filled with anticipation and anxiety.
Finally, Zhang Hao found a way to break the ban.
"Everyone, stand back!" he shouted, his voice echoing in the cave with undeniable authority.
As he operated, the restriction slowly lifted, and Mo Ying easily lifted the scroll. As the scroll touched his hand, a heaviness came over him, as if it carried the weight of the entire world.
However, just as they were about to examine the scroll's contents, the cave began to shake violently. Gems on the cave walls fell, and huge cracks appeared in the ground, like a gaping mouth, ready to devour them.
"Oh no, I might have triggered some mechanism!" Feng Wuhen's face changed drastically. His voice was filled with fear, and his body trembled uncontrollably.
Rocks kept falling from the cave ceiling, making a loud rumbling sound. Each rock was like a deadly cannonball, leaving no place for escape.
"Hurry and find an exit!" Zhang Hao shouted. His voice was particularly loud in the chaos, bringing a glimmer of hope to everyone.
In the chaos, everyone searched for a way out, but the cave seemed to have turned into a huge maze, making them lost. The passages were intricate and there were many forks, each of which seemed to lead to endless darkness.
Just when they felt desperate, the woman discovered a hidden passage. The passage was half blocked by a huge stone and was difficult to find without careful observation.
"This way!" the woman called out, her voice tinged with excitement and hope.
Everyone hurried towards the passage. Zhang Hao and Mo Ying led the way, using their weapons to chop away the rocks and thorns that blocked the way.
Feng Wuhen supported the injured disciple and followed closely behind.
There was a pungent smell in the passage, and water dripped down the wall from time to time, making a dripping sound.
They walked forward, one step deep and one step shallow, not knowing what was waiting for them ahead.
Suddenly, a low roar came from deep in the passage.
"Be careful!" Zhang Hao shouted again.
Everyone stopped and looked ahead warily. A gigantic monster slowly emerged, its eyes flashing red and a puff of black smoke emanating from its mouth.
"What kind of monster is this!" a disciple exclaimed.
Zhang Hao gripped the sword tightly in his hand, "Don't be afraid, we will attack together!"
A fierce battle begins again...
