Rise of the Otherworld.

Chapter 274: Crisis 4 (8)

After repelling the demon wolf, everyone continued on their journey. However, they did not know that a greater crisis was waiting for them ahead.

They entered a swamp. The muddy water exuded a pungent odor, like a rotting corpse mixed with strong sulfur, making people nauseous and feel an unbearable nausea. The muddy water seemed to have life, constantly bubbling. The gurgling sound was particularly eerie in the silent environment, and each bubble burst was like an unknown warning.

"Everyone be careful, don't get stuck in the quagmire." Lin Yu reminded. His voice was serious and tense, his eyes scanned the surroundings vigilantly, the sword in his hand slightly raised, ready to deal with any emergency at any time.

But one disciple accidentally stepped into the mire and quickly sank. He cried out in terror, "Help!" His voice was filled with despair and fear, as if his life was about to be swallowed by darkness. He struggled desperately, waving his hands wildly in the air, but this only made him sink faster, and the mud and water had already covered him to his waist.

Everyone rushed to his aid, some grasping his arms, others using branches to try to clear the mud and water around him. "Hold on!" they shouted in unison, their voices filled with anxiety and determination. Sweat and raindrops mixed from their foreheads, dripping continuously. Their clothes were already soaked and clung to their bodies, but they paid no mind to these things, throwing themselves wholeheartedly into the rescue.

After much effort, they finally pulled him up. The disciple collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath, his face as pale as paper, his eyes still filled with the fear of surviving a disaster.

After finally escaping the swamp, they were met with a sudden downpour. The pea-sized raindrops pounded painfully, each one like a pebble. The wind howled, making it nearly impossible to stand, as if threatening to sweep them into an endless abyss of darkness. The sky instantly became pitch black, as if enveloped by a vast black curtain, impenetrable to the glimmer of light.

"Find a place to shelter from the rain!" Lin Yu shouted. His voice seemed a little weak in the storm, but everyone still heard his cry, as if they had grabbed a life-saving straw.

They found a cave nearby and quickly hid inside. The cave was dark and damp, filled with a rancid odor, like an animal nest that hadn't been cleaned for years, mixed with damp mold and rotting food. Water dripped from the cave walls, and the dripping sound echoed in the silence, like a countdown of time.

"This place doesn't feel right," Xiaoyaozi said, frowning. His eyes were filled with vigilance, and he held the magic weapon tightly in his hand. The faint light from the magic weapon flickered in the darkness.

At that moment, a deep roar erupted from the depths of the cave. It sounded like the voice of an ancient beast, filled with boundless rage and majesty. The sound waves reverberated through the cave, shaking everyone's heart. Their hearts suddenly tightened, and fear spread instantly, like a cold, venomous snake coursing through their bodies.

"Everyone be careful!" Lin Yu whispered. He walked forward slowly, the sword in his hand flashing a faint light, which seemed so small yet so firm in the darkness.

As they approached, the roaring became clearer. A powerful aura rushed over them, almost suffocating them. The aura seemed to be able to freeze the human soul.

Suddenly, a massive monster burst out of the darkness. Its body was as big as a mountain, covered in sharp thorns, each one like a sharp spear, flashing with a cold light. Its eyes shone blood-red, like the burning fire of hell.

"What kind of monster is this?" a disciple shouted in horror, his voice becoming sharp and piercing with fear.

Lin Yu didn't answer, and swung his sword directly towards the monster. The monster swung its huge claws, colliding with Lin Yu's sword, making a loud noise, sparks flying, and illuminating the surrounding darkness.

Everyone also cast their own spells. For a moment, the light flashed, and flames, ice, and lightning intertwined together and swept towards the monster.

The monster's defenses were extremely strong, and the crowd's attacks didn't seem to cause much damage to it. It opened its bloody mouth and spewed out a puff of black smoke.

"Be careful, this smoke is poisonous!" Xiaoyaozi shouted loudly.

Everyone quickly covered their mouths and noses and retreated, but the smoke quickly spread and filled the entire cave.

Some disciples began to feel dizzy and their bodies were shaky.

Lin Yu was extremely anxious. He knew that if he couldn't get rid of this monster as soon as possible, everyone's life would be in danger.

He concentrated his attention, observing the monster's every move, trying to find its weakness.

At this moment, he discovered that the monster seemed to have an old wound on the left side of its abdomen, and its defense was relatively weak.

Lin Yu winked at Xiaoyaozi, and the two understood and attacked the monster's weakness at the same time.

Can they successfully defeat the monster and escape the immediate crisis, or will they be trapped in this dark cave forever?
