The President's Tender Trap
Chapter 89 Calm down
Su Wan sat in the soft sunlight filtering through the curtains, flipping through wedding documents, but her mind drifted like petals in the wind, unable to focus. Lu Ming's recent proposal was like an invisible thread, binding her tightly to the memories of the past. Although he hoped she would focus on wedding preparations, Su Wan's heart was weighed down by the unresolved issues.
"Can I really do this?" she asked herself repeatedly in her mind, the wedding plan and checklist blurring in her vision. Su Wan took a deep breath and tried to calm herself, but Li Yan's name was like a shadow, constantly flashing in her mind.
"A wedding is one of the most important moments in our lives." She tried to recall what Lu Ming had said, trying to convince herself that it was all good. However, the image of Li Yan lingered in her mind, and her curiosity about Lu Ming's past mixed with jealousy made her feel even more complicated.
"I should trust him," Su Wan muttered to herself. Although she tried to calm down, she still felt uneasy. She knew that Lu Ming's feelings for Li Yan were not just about the past, but were mixed with too many emotions and memories.
At this moment, Lu Ming walked into the room with a bright smile, as if sunshine was shining on her heart. "Su Wan, let's go try on wedding dresses today! I heard that store has some great new styles!"
"Okay." Su Wan was slightly taken aback, trying to appear excited. But the uneasiness in her heart was still churning. She hoped that this wedding dress would bring her new expectations, but she was more confused about the future.
On the way to the bridal shop, Lu Ming cheerfully discussed his wedding plans, his smile as warm as the sun. Su Wan tried to respond, but the thorn in her heart remained. She didn't want to interrupt Lu Ming's excitement, but at the same time, she longed to share her true feelings with him.
"Su Wan, do you know? I want to give you a surprise at the wedding." Lu Ming's voice sounded in the car, and Su Wan's heart was instantly captured by these words.
"What surprise?" she asked curiously, trying to divert her attention to the topic.
"I plan to write you a letter personally during the wedding ceremony." Lu Ming smiled slightly, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "I want to take this opportunity to share with you my vision for the future and every little detail of our lives."
A warm feeling welled up in Su Wan's heart. Though still a little uneasy, the anticipation eased her mood a little. "That sounds romantic," she smiled in response, secretly wondering how to untie Lu Ming's knot at this moment.
Arriving at the bridal shop, Su Wan walked in and was greeted by a sea of gorgeous wedding dresses, each one seemingly telling a story of love. Her mood brightened slightly, but the shadow in her heart still lingered.
"Which one do you want to try?" Lu Ming asked, his eyes full of anticipation.
"I want to try that one." Su Wan pointed to an exquisite lace wedding dress, secretly hoping that this wedding dress would bring her new confidence.
As Su Wan tried on her wedding dress, she felt a surge of joy. She saw herself in the mirror, a beaming smile on her face. However, when she saw Lu Ming watching her from the side, her mind drifted back to Li Yan. An unspoken emotion, like a haze, enveloped her heart.
"You're so beautiful." Lu Ming's voice was low and gentle, his eyes full of tenderness. Su Wan felt warm in her heart, but she couldn't suppress the uneasiness she felt.
"Thank you." Su Wan smiled slightly, but she was still pondering the question in her mind. Would Li Yan's appearance become a permanent shadow between her and Lu Ming?
After trying on the wedding dress, Lu Ming enthusiastically discussed the details of the wedding, but Su Wan felt a little suffocated. She knew that she had to face this problem, even though she was afraid to open the wound.
"Lu Ming... before the wedding, I want to discuss something with you." Su Wan mustered her courage and finally spoke. "Of course. What is it?" Lu Ming was slightly taken aback, his eyes revealing concern.
"About... Li Yan." Su Wan's voice trembled slightly, and she felt nervous.
Lu Ming's expression suddenly became serious, and a complex emotion flashed in his eyes. Su Wan could sense his inner struggle, but she knew she had to ask clearly.
"I hope you can tell me how you feel about her." Su Wan tried to keep her voice calm, but her heart was in turmoil.
"Su Wan, I..." Lu Ming's voice was low and slow, as if he was considering how to respond. Su Wan's heart was growing increasingly nervous. She hoped that Lu Ming would be honest with her, but she was also afraid that it would make him unhappy.
"I know you used to be very close to her, but I want to know how you really feel about her." Su Wan bit her lip, trying to calm herself down.
"My feelings for Li Yan are over," Lu Ming finally said, a hint of determination in his voice. "She was once my friend and she did hold an important place in my life, but that's all in the past."
Su Wan breathed a sigh of relief, but she still felt a little uneasy. "But the past always leaves some traces, doesn't it?"
"Yes, I admit that she has influenced me, but our current life is what I cherish." There was a hint of determination in Lu Ming's eyes, as if he was working hard for his and Su Wan's future.
"I hope you can understand that I want to focus on our future instead of being stuck in the past." Lu Ming's voice was gentle but firm. Su Wan felt a little comforted, but doubts in her heart still remained.
"I understand what you mean." Su Wan lowered her head, but she still felt a sense of heaviness in her heart. She wanted to trust Lu Ming completely, but the uneasiness in her heart was like an invisible obstacle, preventing her from completely letting go.
"We can work together to create a beautiful future for ourselves." Lu Ming held Su Wan's hand, with a warm light in his eyes.
"I will try my best." Su Wan smiled slightly, but secretly wondered how to completely dispel the shadow of the past.
As wedding preparations progress, Su Wan and Lu Ming's relationship seems to be slowly warming up. Whenever she sees Lu Ming's vision and anticipation for the future, a warm feeling wells up in her heart. However, the shadow of Li Yan still lingers in her mind, and she cannot completely let it go.
"How can I face the past so that it doesn't affect our future?" Su Wan asked herself repeatedly in her heart, but every time she thought about it, her mood became heavier.
Over the next few days, Su Wan devoted herself to wedding preparations, but the dark cloud in her heart could not be dispelled. She and Lu Ming selected the wedding details and discussed every aspect together. However, when she saw Lu Ming's focused and gentle eyes, her doubts would surge back like a tide.
"All I can do is work hard to make myself better." Su Wan secretly made up her mind. Although she still couldn't let it go, she understood that future happiness needed to be created by both of them together.
On the eve of their wedding, Su Wan and Lu Ming sat by the window again, the sunlight shining on their faces, casting a warm glow. Su Wan tried to calm herself down, but the image of Li Yan still lingered in her mind.
