The President's Tender Trap

Chapter 85 Lu Ming's Concern

As the wedding day approaches, Su Wan's emotions remain volatile. Although she tries to ease her anxiety by sharing it with her good friend Xiaoya, deep-seated doubts linger. Lu Ming's concern for her seems to become another kind of pressure, making it even more difficult for her to open up.

One evening, Su Wan and Lu Ming prepared dinner together at home. The aroma of food filled the kitchen. The two worked in perfect harmony, occasionally exchanging smiles, creating a warm atmosphere. However, Su Wan felt a subtle unease. She tried to appear natural, but it felt a little fake.

"Su Wan, you cooked a great dish today. You are getting better and better." Lu Ming praised while cutting vegetables, with admiration in his eyes.

"Thank you, you did a great job too." Su Wan smiled slightly, trying to sound natural. But she knew that her mood was not as relaxed as she appeared.

"You've been a little absent-minded lately. Is something bothering you?" Lu Ming's voice was gentle and concerned. He noticed Su Wan's mood changes and felt a little worried.

"No, I'm fine," Su Wan replied quickly, but her tone was a little unnatural. She tried to hide her inner turmoil, but Lu Ming's gaze made her feel exposed.

"Are you really okay? I feel like you're always absent-minded." Lu Ming put down the knife in his hand, turned around and looked at her seriously, with an uneasy look in his eyes.

"I'm just a little tired. There's been a lot going on with wedding preparations lately." Su Wan struggled internally, trying to find a reasonable excuse to explain her feelings. "Weddings are indeed very busy, but don't push yourself too hard. We can share the burden together," Lu Ming said with concern. "If you have any troubles, feel free to tell me."

Su Wan was touched, but she still couldn't open her heart. She was afraid that her doubts would burden Lu Ming, and she didn't want him to think she was being unreasonable.

"I'm really fine, don't worry." She shook her head slightly, suppressing her emotions and trying to make herself look more relaxed.

"Okay, if you need me, I'll be here to support you." Lu Ming sighed helplessly. Although he was still worried in his heart, he decided to respect Su Wan's choice.

After dinner, Su Wan cleared the dishes, feeling a surge of guilt. She knew Lu Ming genuinely cared about her, but she couldn't fully reveal her inner struggle and anxiety.

A few days later, Lu Ming specially arranged a date to give Su Wan a surprise. He booked a romantic restaurant in advance and prepared a bouquet of flowers, hoping to use this opportunity to make Su Wan relax.

That night, Su Wan put on an exquisite dress. Although she was still a little uneasy, she tried to keep smiling. When Lu Ming saw her dress, his eyes sparkled with joy.

"You are so beautiful. You look like a princess today." Lu Ming praised sincerely, and his love for Wan became stronger.

"Thank you, Lu Ming." Su Wan smiled slightly, but she still couldn't completely let go of her worries about the past.

The restaurant's environment was elegant and romantic, with flickering candlelight and soft music, creating a warm atmosphere. Lu Ming ordered Su Wan's favorite dishes, trying to make her feel deeply loved.

"Have you felt too much pressure during this period? If so, we can adjust together." Lu Ming asked with concern, his eyes gentle.

"Nothing, I'm just a little busy," Su Wan replied, a hint of fatigue in her voice. She still couldn't shake off the memory of the past, and although Lu Ming's concern warmed her, she couldn't fully open her heart to him.

"If you have any thoughts or concerns, you can tell me." Lu Ming insisted, "I hope you can feel relaxed and not put all the pressure on yourself."

"I will, it's really okay." Su Wan smiled slightly, trying to make herself appear relaxed, but she knew that this cover-up could not change her true feelings.

After dinner, Lu Ming decided to take Su Wan for a walk in a nearby park. Under the starry sky, the two of them strolled along the path, the moonlight shining on them, adding a touch of romance.

"The night is so beautiful at this time of year." Su Wan sighed. Although she was still a little uneasy, the tranquility made her feel a little relaxed.

"If you'd like, we can come here for walks more often," Lu Ming suggested, his eyes full of anticipation. "Sure, I like it here, too," Su Wan nodded, her heart gradually infected by the tranquility.

At this moment, Lu Ming suddenly stopped and turned to look at Su Wan seriously. "Su Wan, I really care about you. I hope you can share your feelings with me, whether it is happiness or trouble."

Su Wan felt Lu Ming's sincerity, and her heart was moved. She knew that her emotions had caused him trouble, but she still couldn't open her heart completely.

"I'll try my best." She finally couldn't help but say, a hint of determination in her voice, "I will try to communicate my feelings to you."

"That's great. Communication is the basis for building trust." Lu Ming showed a gratified smile on his face, and his expectations for the future became stronger.

However, although Lu Ming's concern warmed Su Wan's heart, her doubts still lingered. She knew that she needed time to adapt to this relationship and also needed to work hard to face her inner struggles.

Over the next few days, Su Wan continued to try to stay relaxed and participate in the wedding preparations as much as possible. She and Lu Ming worked together to choose a wedding dress and decorate the venue. Although occasional worries still surfaced, she gradually realized that her emotions were not only due to Lu Ming and Li Yan's past, but also stemmed from uncertainty about the future.

"Su Wan, let's go try on wedding dresses today!" Xiaoya suggested excitedly, with anticipation glittering in her eyes.

"Okay, I just need your opinion." Su Wan nodded, her heart gradually filled with anticipation.

While trying on wedding dresses, Su Wan felt her anticipation and longing for the wedding. As she tried on various wedding dresses in front of the mirror, a feeling of happiness slowly welled up in her heart.

"This wedding dress is so beautiful. You look like a fairy in it!" Xiaoya exclaimed with envy in her eyes.

"Thank you, Xiaoya." Su Wan smiled slightly, feeling a little relieved in her heart.

As the wedding dress fitting progressed, Su Wan's mood gradually brightened. She began to realize that although the shadow of the past still existed, she should focus more on the happiness in front of her and the possibilities of the future.

"Do you think Lu Ming will like this wedding dress?" Su Wan suddenly asked, with anticipation in her eyes.

"Of course he will be amazed!" Xiaoya said with a smile, "Your wedding will be the most wonderful moment!"

Su Wan's doubts were gradually replaced by this expectation. She realized that her emotions could not affect Lu Ming's love for her, and she also had the responsibility to build this trust.

After returning home, Su Wan decided to confess her feelings to Lu Ming. She knew that only by facing her inner struggle could she find a real solution.

"Lu Ming, can we talk?" She mustered up her courage, a hint of determination in her voice.

"Of course, what's wrong?" Lu Ming put down the work in his hands, turned around and looked at her seriously.

"I want to share some of my feelings with you." Su Wan's voice gradually became firm, and a surge of courage surged in her heart.
