The President's Tender Trap
Chapter 77 Misunderstanding Reborn
"When did this happen?" Su Wan's heart sank suddenly, her finger pausing on the screen as a wave of unease welled up in her. She felt suffocated, as if the whole world was collapsing in that instant.
She tried to calm herself down, repeatedly telling herself that it was just a thing of the past, but the image of Li Yan and Lu Ming together kept appearing in her mind. Suspicion arose in her heart, and she began to question Lu Ming's feelings for her, and her heart was filled with uneasiness and anxiety.
"Does Lu Ming really love me? If he is still concerned about Li Yan, what is the point of my existence?" Su Wan's thoughts were swirling in her mind, and her heart was full of questions.
Over the next few days, Su Wan's mood became unusually low. Although wedding preparations continued, she couldn't calm down. Every time Lu Ming mentioned wedding details, Su Wan felt an invisible pressure, and her happiness was eroded by anxiety.
"Su Wan, what's wrong with you? You've been absent-minded lately." Lu Ming noticed Su Wan's changes one night and asked with concern.
"It's okay, I'm just a little tired." Su Wan pretended to be calm and smiled slightly, but her heart was in turmoil.
"You should know that if you have any troubles, you can tell me. I will always support you." Lu Ming held her hand gently, with concern in his eyes.
"I know," Su Wan reluctantly replied, but she couldn't let go of the doubts she'd felt about the photo. She began avoiding close contact with Lu Ming, silently building an invisible wall in her heart to protect herself from harm.
As the wedding day drew closer, Su Wan's heart grew increasingly shaken. She began to imagine what she would do if Lu Ming's mind was still on Li Yan during the wedding. Her emotions became increasingly sensitive, and she hung on Lu Ming's every word and gesture.
"I think we can add some interactive elements to the wedding to get the guests more involved," Lu Ming suggested excitedly one night.
"Well, do you think this is okay?" There was a hint of hesitation in Su Wan's voice.
"Of course, this will make the wedding more interesting." Lu Ming smiled, his eyes flashing with anticipation.
Su Wan didn't respond in her heart. She kept smiling, but her heart grew heavier. As time went on, her inner conflict became more and more obvious, and she couldn't find a way out. She began to doubt whether she could still trust Lu Ming and whether she could truly enter the palace of marriage.
At a friend's party, Wan was chatting with her good friend Xiaoya when she couldn't help but pour out her inner worries: "Xiaoya, I've been wondering lately, is Lu Ming really sincere to me? If he still has feelings for Li Yan, what should I do?"
"Su Wan, why do you have such thoughts? Lu Ming is so good to you, he must love you." Xiaoya was a little embarrassed and tried to comfort her.
"But... I saw a photo of him and Li Yan, they looked so close." Su Wan's voice was low, and there was a flicker of anxiety in her eyes.
"That's in the past. You have to trust Lu Ming and have faith in him," Xiaoya encouraged. "You're getting married soon. You should enjoy the process instead of being haunted by the past."
Su Wan nodded silently. Although she heard her friend's words of comfort, her inner doubts were still hard to dissipate. She began to want to know more about the relationship between Lu Ming and Li Yan, and her heart was full of struggle and contradiction.
A few days later, just as she was feeling the pain, Lu Ming suggested that they go see the wedding venue. On the way to the wedding venue, Su Wan felt uneasy and decided to ask Lu Ming what he really thought.
"Lu Ming, there is something I want to ask you." Su Wan finally plucked up the courage and broke the silence in the car.
"What's the matter?" Lu Ming turned his head, concern in his eyes.
"I saw the photo of you and Li Yan." Su Wan's voice trembled and her heart was full of nervousness.
Lu Ming's expression instantly became solemn, and he frowned slightly: "That photo is old. We have broken up for a long time, you know."
"But..." Su Wan's voice was a little low, "I don't know if you have completely let go of your feelings for her."
Lu Ming's heart tightened, and his inner resolve seemed to waver under Su Wan's questioning. He tried to calm himself down: "Su Wan, what happened between Li Yan and me is in the past. My feelings for you are real, and I hope you can trust me."
"Can you guarantee that there is no trace of her in your heart?" Su Wan's voice was filled with uneasiness, and tears flashed in her eyes.
"I can't change the past, but I can promise that my love for you is steadfast." Lu Ming's voice was low and firm. He took a deep breath, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you. This is what really matters."
Su Wan felt touched, but a sense of unease still lingered. She knew Lu Ming's every word was sincere, but the doubts in her heart were hard to shake off. "I need time to process all this," Su Wan finally lowered her head, her voice weak.
"I understand, but I hope you can believe me and believe in the relationship between us." Lu Ming held her hand, his eyes revealing firm belief.
As the wedding day drew closer, Su Wan struggled with her feelings. She felt Lu Ming's love and support, but the shadow cast by that photo lingered. She began to wonder if marriage was truly possible, if she could truly embrace a future with Lu Ming.
In the last few days before the wedding, Su Wan's mood became increasingly heavy. Her communication with Lu Ming became less smooth, and the original sweetness and happiness seemed to be shrouded by an invisible barrier.
"Su Wan, I hope you can let go of the doubts in your heart so that we can embrace a bright future together." Lu Ming said softly one night, with concern in his eyes.
"I will try my best, but sometimes it is really hard for me to do it." Su Wan lowered her head, her heart full of panic.
"I hope you can believe me, I will always be with you." Lu Ming held her hand, trying to give her strength.
However, Su Wan's heart could not let go. She began to doubt whether she had the ability to manage this relationship and whether she could face the challenges of the future with Lu Ming.
"If I can't trust him, how can our marriage be happy?" Su Wan thought over and over in her mind, feeling helpless and confused.
Finally, the wedding day arrived. The sun was shining brightly, the sky clear, but Su Wan's heart was still filled with gloom. She stood in front of the mirror, looking at herself in her wedding dress, but she couldn't feel the joy she should have.
"How should I face this wedding? If I always have doubts in my heart, how can I enter the palace of marriage?" Su Wan asked herself in her heart, with an uneasy glint in her eyes.
At this moment, Lu Ming walked in and saw that Su Wan looked a little strange. He asked with concern: "Su Wan, are you okay?"
"I... am fine." Su Wan tried to force out a smile, but the inner conflict surged like a tide.
