The President's Tender Trap
Chapter 67 Family Balance
As time goes by, Lu Ming and Su Wan's relationship grows stronger through mutual understanding and support. However, life isn't always smooth sailing. Lu Ming's work is reaching its peak, and the pressure of projects forces him to work overtime. Su Wan also faces various challenges in the workplace. Finding a balance between career and family becomes a crucial issue for both of them in their busy lives.
One Monday morning, Lu Ming woke up early as usual and prepared to go to the company. His intense work made him feel stressed and even a little breathless. He went to the kitchen and saw Su Wan preparing breakfast for him, which warmed his heart.
"Good morning, Lu Ming." Su Wan said with a smile, "Breakfast will be ready soon. Work hard today!"
"Thank you, Su Wan." Lu Ming's mood eased a little and he sat down to enjoy his breakfast. "I have an important meeting today, so I might be very busy."
"I know it must have been very hard for you during this period." Su Wan said gently, "But remember to take good care of yourself and don't get too tired."
"I will." Lu Ming smiled slightly, grateful for Su Wan's concern. However, as the pressure of work increased, he felt a sense of unease. He knew that he might neglect communicating with Su Wan because of work.
At the company, Lu Ming's workload was busier than ever. The demands of the project demanded constant, efficient work, leaving him little time to think about anything else. Overtime became the norm, and weekends were often filled with work-related chores. He was constantly thinking about Su Wan, trying to find time to communicate with her, but his time was often interrupted by unexpected work.
Meanwhile, Su Wan was facing pressure at work. Her project had reached a critical stage, with increasingly demanding client requirements and a tight deadline. Every day felt like a race against time, and despite her efforts to manage her stress, the anxiety within her persisted.
"My work lately is such a headache," Su Wan complained one afternoon while chatting with her colleague Xiao Zhang in the tea room. "Clients are becoming more and more demanding, and project schedules are becoming tighter."
"I understand how you feel. We've all been working so hard lately," Xiao Zhang sighed. "But don't forget to take care of your emotions. You're busy, but you also need to relax a bit."
Su Wan nodded, but she still felt helpless. She knew she couldn't let work affect her relationship with Lu Ming. So, she decided to proactively discuss the situation with Lu Ming and work together to find a solution. "Lu Ming, we need to talk." One Friday evening, Su Wan invited Lu Ming to their regular cafe. She hoped this would be an opportunity to find a balance between work and family.
"Okay, I was just looking to talk to you." Lu Ming responded with a smile, his eyes full of concern.
Sitting in the cafe, Su Wan patiently listened to Lu Ming's work pressures and then shared her own feelings. "I feel like we've both been so busy with work lately that we seem to have very little time for each other."
"Me too." Lu Ming nodded, a hint of guilt in his eyes. "I've been working so hard, but I haven't been able to spend enough time with you. If this continues, I'm worried that we'll drift apart."
"I'm worried about this, too." Su Wan's voice was gentle but firm. "Support and understanding between us are very important. I hope we can find a solution together."
"We can make a schedule to ensure that we can make time for each other even when we are busy at work." Lu Ming suggested, with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
"That's a good idea." Su Wan smiled slightly, her heart full of anticipation. "We can set up a date at least once a week to ensure that we have time to communicate and relax."
"Also, we can hold a family meeting on a certain day each week to discuss work progress and life issues." Lu Ming continued, "It allows us to maintain communication and share our feelings in a timely manner."
"That's great. We can support each other and help each other cope with stress." Su Wan agreed, her plans for the future becoming clearer in her mind.
Over time, Lu Ming and Su Wan developed a detailed schedule together, ensuring they could find time for each other despite their busy lives. They set up regular weekly appointment times and weekly family meetings. This structure not only allowed them to stay connected but also fostered a deeper understanding of each other.
"Today is our date, are you ready?" Lu Ming asked Su Wan excitedly on the weekend, with anticipation in his eyes.
"Of course! We can go see that newly released movie." Su Wan responded with a smile, a warm feeling of happiness surging in her heart.
"Good idea. We can go out for dinner after the movie." Lu Ming suggested happily.
In their busy work schedules, they were able to take time out to spend time with each other, bringing their hearts closer together. After watching the movie, they enjoyed a sumptuous dinner together, sharing the trivialities of life with each other, laughing constantly, and their stress dissipated.
"I feel much better." Lu Ming said contentedly, holding a wine glass in his hand, his heart full of happiness.
"Me too. It's great to be with you." Su Wan's face was filled with smiles and her heart was full of gratitude.
As they spend time together, Su Wan and Lu Ming's relationship becomes increasingly solid. Their weekly date is not only a chance to relax, but also an important moment for them to share their lives and strengthen their relationship.
However, life's challenges persisted. As the project progressed, Lu Ming's work pressure continued to mount. His overtime hours grew longer and longer, and his weekends were almost entirely occupied by work. Despite setting a schedule, the pressure of reality always left them feeling a bit overwhelmed.
"I've been really busy at work lately, and I might have to work overtime again." Lu Ming looked tired on a Thursday night.
"I understand." Su Wan said softly, but she felt a little uneasy in her heart, "But you still have to try to make time for the time we agreed on before."
"I'll try my best." Lu Ming sighed slightly, a hint of guilt in his eyes. "I know this will disappoint you, but I have to finish this job."
"I don't want to put pressure on you." Su Wan's voice was gentle but firm. "I hope we can face this difficulty together, rather than letting it become a barrier between us."
"Me too. I'll try to arrange my work more rationally." Lu Ming said seriously, "But I hope you can understand that there are some things I have to face."
"I will understand you." Su Wan smiled slightly, but she felt a little uncomfortable in her heart. She knew that it was not easy to find a balance between career and family, but she was willing to work with Lu Ming.
In the days that followed, despite both being busy with work, they made an effort to maintain communication. Weekly family meetings became an important time for them to face stress together, sharing work challenges and daily life experiences. These exchanges deepened their relationship.
"In today's meeting, the client raised a lot of concerns about our proposal." During a family meeting, Su Wan shared her work challenges, her expression revealing helplessness. "I understand. This situation is very common at work," Lu Ming thought carefully and offered a suggestion. "We can analyze the client's feedback together and see how to improve our proposal."
"Thank you, Lu Ming. Having you around makes me feel warm." Su Wan smiled slightly, and the pressure in her heart was relieved.
Through this mutual support, Su Wan and Lu Ming gradually found a balance between career and family. They realized that the challenges in life are not scary, as long as they support each other, they can overcome all difficulties.
However, life's twists and turns are inevitable. At work, Lu Ming's project isn't progressing smoothly, and he's faced harsh criticism from his superiors, with increasing pressure. Meanwhile, Su Wan is also facing a bottleneck at work, with constantly changing client demands hindering her project's progress.
"It's been so hard lately." One night, Su Wan accidentally confided in Lu Ming, "The pressure of the project is making me feel like I'm about to collapse."
"Me too. I'm feeling frustrated by the difficulties I'm facing at work." Lu Ming sighed, a hint of fatigue in his eyes. "But we can't give up. We have to face these challenges together."
