The President's Tender Trap

Chapter 60 Family Test

On this romantic night, Lu Ming and Su Wan stood in each other's arms, their hearts filled with longing and anticipation for the future. They knew that the days ahead would be filled with challenges and opportunities, but as long as they were by each other's side, they could overcome all difficulties and embrace a brighter tomorrow.

Su Wan returned home, feeling restless. As she packed up the documents she'd brought back from work, she reflected on her date with Lu Ming. Their relationship was growing stronger, but on the way home, her heart grew heavier. She knew she had to face her family's doubts about their relationship.

"Su Wan, you're back!" When her mother saw her, she immediately put down her work and came to greet her. "How was your day?"

"Not bad." Su Wan smiled slightly, trying to hide her inner fluctuations, but the concern in her mother's eyes made her heart tighten.

"I heard you're with Lu Ming." Her mother's voice was gentle yet serious. "He's a workaholic. Are you sure he can make you happy?"

"Mom, I know you are worried about me, but Lu Ming is very good. He works hard and is an ambitious person." Su Wan tried her best to remain calm, but there was a hint of uneasiness in her words.

"Excellence doesn't mean it's right for you." His father also came over, a look of worry on his face. "He's busy with work all day. How can he give you a complete family? Isn't that what you need?"

Su Wan's heart sank suddenly. Her father's words were like a thorn in her heart. She knew her father had always hoped that she would find a stable partner and start a warm family, and Lu Ming's workaholic nature undoubtedly made them even more worried.

"I'll think about it, Mom and Dad." She tried to keep her tone calm, trying to soothe her parents. "Lu Ming and I are very happy together. He's also working hard. I hope we can have a better life in the future."

"Happiness isn't measured by work." The mother frowned. "You need to think clearly. Relationships require cultivation, not just blindly being busy."

Su Wan's heart was filled with mixed emotions. She had always believed Lu Ming was trustworthy, and their relationship was growing stronger. But now, her parents' doubts were causing her to waver, and she began to doubt whether she had made the right choice.

"I can talk to him. Maybe he'll understand our concerns," my mother suddenly suggested. "If he really likes you, he'll be willing to consider you."

"I don't think this is a good idea." Su Wan felt a little resistant. "Lu Ming is very busy, and I don't want to add to his burden."

"Dear, you have to understand that family is part of your future life, and your choices will affect your life." The father's voice became more firm. "If he really loves you, he will put family and feelings first."

Su Wan lowered her head, her heart filled with confusion. She thought back to every little detail of her time with Lu Ming, his dedication and hard work. However, her parents' worries hung heavy over her heart, leaving her feeling uneasy.

"I'll consider what you say." Su Wan finally replied in a low voice, but she felt helpless. She didn't want to disappoint her parents, but she also didn't want to give up her current happiness.

At night, Su Wan lay in bed, tossing and turning, her heart full of contradictions. She thought of Lu Ming's smile, the warmth of his gentle whispers in her ear, yet her parents' words were like a hammer, hammering her heart.

"Maybe Lu Ming really isn't right for me." She pondered this thought over and over again, gradually becoming consumed by it. She didn't want to lose this love, but she was also afraid of the future responsibilities and pressures.

The next day, Su Wan decided to meet with Lu Ming and confide her troubles to him. She wanted to understand his thoughts and also wanted to confirm her own feelings.

In a coffee shop, Su Wan ordered a latte and waited for Lu Ming to arrive. Her heart was filled with anticipation and nervousness, afraid that she would say something she shouldn't.

Lu Ming arrived as promised, dressed in a smart suit and exuding a powerful aura. After he sat down, he smiled and asked, "What's wrong with you today? You look very worried."

"There are some things I want to talk to you about." Su Wan hesitated for a moment, and finally decided to speak, "After I returned home, my parents became a little worried about our relationship."

Lu Ming frowned slightly, then adjusted his mindset: "What are they worried about? Is it my job?"

"Well, they think you're too busy and might not be able to take on family responsibilities." Su Wan's voice was a little low. "I know what they think, and there may be some truth to it."

Lu Ming was silent for a moment, his expression becoming serious. "I understand their concerns. But I also hope you understand that I work hard for our future. I hope to give you a stable life."

"I know you work hard." Su Wan raised her head, her eyes firm. "But I also hope you can find a balance between work and family. I don't want to be a burden in your life, nor do I want you to lose your passion for work."

"You are not a burden, but a part of my future." Lu Ming's voice was low and firm. "I will try my best to adjust my schedule and achieve a balance between work and life."

When Su Wan heard this, she felt a little warm in her heart. She had been worried about whether Lu Ming could understand her worries, but now she finally saw his determination.

"I hope we can face these challenges together," Su Wan said softly. "I'm also trying to understand the responsibilities you bear."

"Of course, we are partners and should support each other." Lu Ming smiled and held Su Wan's hand. The warm touch made her feel very secure.

As time went by, the two gradually found a balance. Lu Ming paid more attention to time management at work and tried to make time for Su Wan. Su Wan also tried to understand Lu Ming's work pressure and offered him support and encouragement.

During this process, Su Wan's parents gradually noticed the changes in Lu Ming. Although they still had concerns about this relationship, seeing their determination to work together, they couldn't help but feel more approval.

Finally, Su Wan's family and Lu Ming's family reached a consensus at a gathering. During the meeting and conversation, the two parents learned about Lu Ming's deep affection and sense of responsibility for Su Wan, and gradually put aside their doubts.

After this difficult ordeal, Su Wan and Lu Ming's relationship becomes stronger. They understand that love is not just a sweet promise, but also a shared responsibility and understanding.

In the process, Su Wan also learned how to find a balance between family and career. She is no longer just a person pursuing love, but a woman who bravely faces challenges in life.

They will still encounter various difficulties on the road ahead, but Su Wan believes that as long as they work together, all challenges can be solved.
