Lin Chang'an entered the gates of Yancheng, and the sight of the streets made him frown slightly. The city seemed unusually deserted, with few pedestrians, which seemed a bit eerie. It seemed as if the influence of the Demon Cult had already infiltrated every corner of the city. Lin Chang'an didn't linger for long, heading straight into the city, looking for a place to stay.

However, not long after he left, he was surrounded by several people. Several minions of the Demon Cult, dressed in black robes, stared at him with sinister expressions. The leader, who seemed to be the leader, sneered and looked Lin Chang'an up and down, his eyes gleaming with contempt.

"Hey, seeing how ordinary this kid is dressed, I guess his strength isn't that great, right? He just walked into the city gate and he's already so clueless." He challenged Lin Changan, pointing his finger, "Brothers, let's teach this kid a lesson."

The other minions also sneered and surrounded him, speaking foul language, not taking Lin Chang'an seriously at all. Lin Chang'an remained calm, allowing them to surround him, his eyes indifferent, not angry at all. The words of several people gradually became more vicious, with obvious threats and insults, clearly trying to provoke a conflict.

At this moment, the leader seemed to be getting impatient. He pointed at Lin Changan and sneered, "Go ahead and test his abilities!"

As the order was given, one of the leading minions leaped out, charging towards Lin Chang'an and slamming his fist into his chest. The blow, seemingly powerful, seemed slow and hollow to Lin Chang'an. His gaze turned cold, and with a swift, wind-like movement, he spun to avoid the attack, then gently pushed it away with a palm strike.

The minion seemed to be hit by an invisible force, and he flew out and hit the wall not far away. With a dull thud, he fainted.

The other demon cult minions looked at each other in shock at this scene. They had obviously not expected this seemingly insignificant young man to defeat his companions so easily. Their faces were humiliated, and their hearts were filled with shame and anger. The leading minion snorted coldly, "You useless bastards, you can't even beat a kid! Come on! Attack together!"

With that, the men no longer hesitated, charging at Lin Chang'an with their fists. Lin Chang'an remained unfazed, seemingly nonchalantly wielding a palm strike, quickly halting the oncoming force. The minions, like paper, were sent flying by Lin Chang'an's palm, falling to the ground one by one, groaning in pain.

The outcome of this brawl was undoubtedly inevitable. Several of the demon cult minions were quickly knocked to the ground by Lin Chang'an, completely unable to resist. Although they still struggled to stand up, they couldn't even stand steadily. Seeing that they had completely lost the ability to fight back, one of the minions shouted, "All of you, run! Go find the demon cult elder! We are no match for him!"

They scrambled to their feet and ran off into the distance, shouting that they were going to call in the Demon Cult's elders. Lin Chang'an ignored them, simply watching them depart with indifference. In reality, he knew these people were merely seeking stronger support, and in his eyes, they weren't worth wasting any more time on.

Lin Chang'an turned and continued to wander through Yancheng. The streets remained silent, almost deserted. Occasionally, a few windows would open slightly, but upon noticing the noise outside, they would quickly close them, appearing particularly alert. A hint of doubt arose in Lin Chang'an's mind—Yancheng's desolate atmosphere wasn't simply due to the Demon Cult's presence; perhaps there was a deeper hidden reason.

He didn't linger, instead heading towards an inn in the city. The inn looked quite old, simple yet clean. Lin Chang'an pushed open the door, entered, and chose an empty room, ready to rest for a while and gather his thoughts. After all, the mission was arduous, and he needed to conserve his energy to ensure the next move went smoothly.

However, just as he sat down, about to close his eyes and rest, a sudden and abrupt noise erupted from outside. Lin Chang'an frowned slightly, walked to the window, gently pushed it open, and peeked out through the crack. There seemed to be some commotion at the far end of the street, with many men in black moving around, and the atmosphere was becoming increasingly tense.

Not long after, the door was suddenly kicked open with a dull thud. Lin Chang'an was startled and turned to look. A middle-aged man, dressed slightly more elegantly than the other disciples of the Demon Cult, walked in, his eyes cold and his aura intimidating. He glanced confidently around the room and said in an unquestionable tone, "I am Elder Bai, a member of the Demon Cult. If you are willing to surrender and become my disciple, I can spare your life. Otherwise, you will die today."

Elder Bai's words were threatening and unceremonious, clearly assuming that due to his noble status, Lin Chang'an simply needed to bow his head and obey. However, Lin Chang'an showed no fear. He looked at Elder Bai coldly, his tone cold and firm, "Die? Do you think you have the right to let me die?"

Elder Bai raised his eyebrows, clearly not expecting Lin Chang'an to react so calmly. A mocking smile played at the corner of his mouth, and then he snorted coldly, "How dare you speak so arrogantly! Since you're so reckless, don't blame me for being rude!"

Before he finished speaking, Elder Bai's figure suddenly moved, almost transforming into a black shadow, and instantly pounced on Lin Chang'an. A cold glint flashed in Lin Chang'an's eyes, and with a flick of his finger, a ball of flame suddenly rushed towards Elder Bai like a ferocious beast. The flames instantly erupted in the air, like a pillar of fire burning the sky, and a scorching breath swept over.

Elder Bai hadn't anticipated Lin Chang'an's ability to unleash such a ferocious blaze. His expression suddenly changed, and he dodged most of the flames, though some still burned his shoulder. His face darkened, and he twitched his fingers slightly, gathering his spiritual energy as he attempted another counterattack.

However, Lin Chang'an had already seized his opportunity. Without giving Elder Bai any chance to breathe, he unleashed his fiery power once more, instantly enveloping him. Elder Bai screamed in agony, but under the intense onslaught of the flames, he was powerless to resist. His body instantly turned to ash, vanishing into thin air along with his spiritual energy.

This scene shocked the other demon sect disciples in the room. They had never expected that Elder Bai would die so easily at the hands of Lin Chang'an. Seeing the cold expression on Lin Chang'an's face, they were filled with fear, and their steps unconsciously retreated, eventually running away.

Lin Chang'an didn't pursue the fleeing demon sect disciples. He knew they wouldn't dare return anytime soon. Looking at the ruins in the room, he felt a slight sense of relief, knowing he could have some peace and quiet for a while. Then, he took a deep breath, turned around, and lay down on the bed, ready to rest.
