Having trudged through the seemingly endless darkness of the glacial path for an unknown amount of time, Wu Ye felt his spirit was being worn down by the thick silence and the "Old Six" demon that occasionally leaped from the shadows. Although the skeleton warriors dutifully acted as a human wall (bone wall?), keeping the ice claw monsters and shadow lurkers several meters away from their attempts to ambush him, the constant tension and vigilance against unknown threats in the darkness felt like a dull knife cutting into flesh, draining his mind.

"Phew... This damn place is more tiring than clearing the Crystal Passage a hundred times..." Wu Ye rubbed his throbbing temples, barely able to make out the slippery ice beneath his feet by the flickering light of the torch in the skeleton warrior's hand. He subconsciously touched the dry, hard strips of meat and the strong smell of alcohol in his storage space, and his stomach churned.

"I wonder if I can find a place to start a fire and cook a meal in this freezing weather..." This thought grew wildly in his mind like weeds. The food in Harrogath was really not good. Apart from the salty smoked meat, there was only strong liquor that could be used as fuel. Even a decent piece of bread was rare, let alone the taste of his hometown that he longed for.

Just then, he keenly noticed a slight change in the oppressive, stifling airflow within the passage. The previously stagnant wind, carrying the damp, cold, and fishy smell unique to glaciers, seemed to have become slightly more "lively," faintly carrying a chill that was more biting but "cleaner" than that found in open spaces?

He immediately stopped and took out the magical map from his storage space. Infusing it with magic, the glowing dots on the map showed that they were now very close to the exit of the Glacier Path—that open area connecting to the Arreat Plateau (frozen tundra)! Almost just a few hundred meters ahead!

"Holy crap! Almost there!" Wu Ye's spirits lifted instantly, and most of his fatigue vanished in an instant! "Let's go! Brothers, give it your all! We'll see the light soon! We'll be able to breathe fresh air!" he shouted excitedly, his voice brimming with joy.

The skeleton warriors' soul flames flickered, and their steps seemed lighter. The high priest chuckled softly, covering his mouth: "Master, are you so hungry you long for the light?"

"Cough...Why did I have to speak such blunt truths!" Wu Ye's face flushed slightly, but he didn't slow down. He hadn't been staring at the map the whole time; he'd just been relying on his instincts and Skeleton Brother's scouting guidance. He never expected that the light at the end of the tunnel would be so close!

Sure enough, after walking a short distance, the end of the passage was no longer a deep darkness, but a wider, hazy light shone through! The howling of the cold wind also became clearer. When Wu Ye stepped out of the icy river path, the view suddenly opened up before him!

Although the sky remained a leaden gray, and the howling wind whipped snowflakes against my face, the oppressive cave was no longer before me. Instead, I found myself in a relatively flat expanse of tundra covered in thick snow and low-lying moss—a frozen tundra! The view expanded infinitely, revealing the distant, undulating silhouettes of black, snow-covered mountains. Though still cold and desolate, compared to the suffocating darkness of the tunnel, this was paradise!

"Ah—! The air of freedom!" Wu Ye opened his arms and took a deep breath of the cold but incredibly fresh air, feeling as if all the stale air in his lungs had been washed away! The mental fatigue vanished instantly!

Now, he only has one thought in his mind: cooking!

He looked around and quickly found a relatively sheltered spot near the mountainside at the edge of the tundra. There, several huge, reclining black rocks were half-buried in the snow, forming a natural depression that was sheltered from the wind on three sides.

"This is it!" Wu Ye decided. He first directed the skeleton warriors to clear the snow from the depression, revealing the relatively solid frozen ground beneath. Then, he took out his treasure from his storage space—the [Adventure Magic Tent]!

"Unfold!" Wu Ye thought to himself.

hum!

With a slight spatial fluctuation, a three-story building constructed of sturdy stone and magical wood appeared out of thin air in the center of the depression! Wisps of smoke, carrying the fresh scent of pine, were even rising from the fireplace chimney! The magical light shone warmly through the windows, instantly enveloping this small haven in a cozy atmosphere.

"This thing is really reliable!" Wu Ye patted the stone wall of the tent with satisfaction, then led Skeleton Brother and the High Priest inside. A warm breeze rushed in, dispelling the chill. The fire crackled in the fireplace, the living room was spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped.

Wu Ye rushed into the kitchen without waiting. He opened the storage space and began to take things out: fresh potatoes, bright green bell peppers, bright red tomatoes, plump garlic shoots, a glacial salmon that was still slightly moving, fine pork belly, a basket of eggs... These were all things he had "sweeped up" at the Harrogath market and had been kept fresh in his backpack.

However, when those delicate vegetables were exposed to the cold air brought in from outside the tent, they were instantly ruined!

"Crack!" The bright green bell pepper was covered with a layer of white frost at a speed visible to the naked eye, and then became hard as a rock, like a green stone!

"Sizzle!" The bright red tomato surface quickly froze, then cracked with tiny lines!

"..." Wu Ye held the garlic scapes, which had instantly frozen into icicles, and was both amused and exasperated. "Oh! I forgot about that! It's tens of degrees below zero outside!"

Fortunately, there was a temperature-regulating magic inside the tent. Wu Ye quickly placed the frozen vegetables on the kitchen counter. Under the effect of the warm magic circle, the frost on the surface of the vegetables melted rapidly. Although they were a bit wilted, they finally regained some vitality.

"It'll have to do!" Wu Ye rolled up his sleeves, washed his hands, and began to show off his skills!

He first prepared the glacial salmon, skillfully scaling, gutting, and cutting it, then marinating it with ginger slices and homemade fruit wine to remove any fishy smell. Then he started preparing the side dishes: peeling and shredding the potatoes, soaking them in water; removing the seeds from the green peppers and shredding them; cutting the tomatoes into chunks; cutting the garlic shoots into sections; slicing some of the pork belly thinly and cutting the rest into large chunks for braised pork; cracking the eggs into a bowl and beating them…

The high priestess floated curiously at the kitchen doorway, watching Wu Ye manipulate various ingredients and strangely shaped metal utensils (pots, pans, and bowls) as if by magic. "Master, are you... preparing for a sacrificial ceremony? Using food?" She was startled when she saw Wu Ye pouring oil into the pot, making a "sizzling" sound.

"Haha, this is called cooking! It's about enjoying life!" Wu Ye laughed, his spatula flying across the surface. "Just watch, it'll smell so good you'll want to try it!"

First dish: Stir-fried pork with green peppers and potatoes! Heat oil in a wok, add pork slices marinated in soy sauce and cornstarch, stir-fry until they change color, and set aside. Next, sauté minced garlic until fragrant, then add the drained potato and green pepper strips and stir-fry over high heat. Season with salt and vinegar, and finally add the pork slices back in and stir-fry evenly. The tangy, spicy, and crunchy aroma instantly fills the air!

The second dish: Scrambled eggs with tomatoes! Slide the golden egg mixture into hot oil and scramble until fluffy and set aside. Leave some oil in the pan, add the tomato chunks and stir-fry until they release their juices. Add a little sugar to enhance the flavor, then pour in the scrambled eggs and stir-fry evenly. A beautiful mix of red and yellow, sweet and sour!

The third dish: Braised fish! Pat the marinated salmon dry and pan-fry until golden brown on both sides. Leave some oil in the pan, sauté scallions, ginger, and garlic until fragrant, then add soy sauce, fruit wine, sugar, salt, and water. Bring to a boil, then add the pan-fried fish and simmer over low heat until the sauce thickens. The rich aroma of the sauce combined with the freshness of the fish is incredibly tempting!

The fourth dish: Stir-fried garlic shoots with pork! Garlic shoot segments and pork slices are stir-fried together in a wok, seasoned with soy sauce and oyster sauce. The aroma of garlic shoots and pork blend perfectly!

Fifth dish: Braised pork belly! Blanched pork belly chunks are stir-fried in a pot until the fat renders, then rock sugar is added and caramelized. Fruit wine is poured in, followed by soy sauce, spices, and hot water, and the mixture is simmered over low heat. Time flows with the aroma of the meat, until the sauce thickens, the pork chunks are glossy and tempting, rich but not greasy, and melt in your mouth!

Finally, Wu Ye cooked a big pot of hand-pulled noodles! The chewy noodles were scooped into a large bowl, topped with the thick broth of braised pork, along with a few trembling, glistening pieces of braised pork, and sprinkled with a handful of bright green scallions!

"Dinner's ready!" Wu Ye called out, bringing several plates of colorful and fragrant dishes, along with a bowl of braised pork noodles piled high like a small mountain, to the table. He then magically produced a small porcelain bottle containing his secret "Thirteen Spices" seasoning, made with spices and herbs he had found in this world, and generously sprinkled a layer of it over the noodles and braised pork!

In an instant, the small tent restaurant was filled with delicious aromas! The tangy and spicy green pepper and potato shreds, the sweet and sour tomato and egg stir-fry, the savory braised fish, the salty and fresh garlic sprouts and pork stir-fry, the rich braised pork, the wheat aroma of noodles... all kinds of flavors intertwined to create an unparalleled, homey sense of happiness!

Wu Ye couldn't wait to pick up a mouthful of braised pork noodles covered in sauce, blow on it to cool it down, and slurp it up in one big gulp!

"Mmm—!" He squinted his eyes in satisfaction, letting out a muffled sigh. "Awesome! This is the taste! I've missed it so much!"

Although the high priest did not need to eat, he was captivated by the rich aroma and Wu Ye's intoxicated expression. Curious, he leaned closer to smell it: "So...so fragrant! This is even...warmer than the aura of holy light!"

Skeleton stood silently in the corner of the restaurant, his empty eye sockets "gazing" at the table full of dishes and Wu Ye, who was engrossed in eating. His bone armor gleamed warmly in the fireplace. He didn't understand the taste of the food, but he could feel the long-lost, pure relaxation and joy emanating from his master.

Wu Ye devoured the food with gusto. After finishing a bowl of noodles, he had another half bowl, and he also finished most of the various dishes. Only when his stomach was completely round did he finally put down his chopsticks and bowl with satisfaction, lean back in his chair, and let out a long sigh of relief.

"Burp... That feels so good!" He patted his stomach, a long-lost, genuine smile on his face. "This is life!"

He carefully packed up the remaining food and put it into his storage space. This would be his spiritual sustenance for the arduous journey ahead!

Stepping out of the tent, the wind and snow outside seemed to have softened. Wu Ye stood in the sheltered spot surrounded by giant rocks, gazing at the frozen tundra blanketed in snow in the distance, his eyes regaining their sharp light. The brief rest and the comfort of good food were like a taut bowstring being loosened, allowing him to gather even more strength.

"I'm full and satisfied, time to sleep!!!" Wu Ye happily picked her teeth with a toothpick. After tidying up, she found a bed, lay down, and summoned all the skeletons to stand guard.
