Of course, Susan was not very clear about this. They were locked in the basement and could only vaguely feel what Valletta was doing, but they were powerless to do anything. The only way was to constantly hone their strength, strive to master this dark power, and wait for the moment of the final battle.
This is what the priests and nuns firmly believe, that there will come a time when they and Valletta will decide the final outcome.
"Judging from the results," Susan smiled and held up Meigs's white skull, "God is on our side again, Amen."
After the wooden door was opened, Feng Lan had no room to intervene. After more than a hundred years, the strength of the nuns was no longer the same. Feng Lan could not kill those corpses without putting in some effort, but the nuns who shared the same power easily killed them.
The final battle with Valletta is coming.
The church became their battlefield.
Feng Lan jumped out of the window with Bob and Wang Qi, and stood far away on the lawn. She watched this wonderful battle with her eyes thrown in the corner.
Valletta's power is obviously stronger than that of any other nun, but after clipping her wings, the nuns whose fate is entangled with Valletta can also share some of Valletta's power. In addition, Megs' bones, more than a hundred years of practice, and his firm belief have blessed his remains with sacred power. Any little bit of this power that Valletta gets touch with will stick to her like a leech, eroding her strength bit by bit.
As the fight went on, with the nuns sharing her strength and Megs purifying her, Valletta became more and more miserable. Her intact face began to age, the resentment that was rising into the sky gradually thinned out, and the evil in her body faded away.
"No! No! No!" Valletta covered her face and screamed. The skin on the edges of her face became loose, as did her hands. She looked extremely old. In the blink of an eye, she went from being a gorgeous European and American beauty to being in a horrible state similar to Susan, Petka and the others, or even worse.
Because the evil power in her was still being purified little by little by Megs, until the power she stole from hell completely disappeared.
"I can't fail!" Valletta shouted. Petka and the nuns stared at her vigilantly. Endless fog poured out of Valletta crazily, and the evil power was brewing and awakening.
Many years later, Valletta started the sacrificial ceremony again, using her own soul as a sacrifice. Even if the result was annihilation, Valletta could never accept her weak appearance after losing her power.
"Immersa of Mirinakasuva..." Valletta chanted the spell rapidly, gazing at everyone with resentment until she was completely engulfed by the mist. "I will be waiting for you all in Hell."
Valletta went to hell, but the fog she created did not stop. The nuns tried to stop it as soon as she started chanting the spell, but to no avail.
Susan's calm expression also changed. She stood up, and the Meigs in her hand clicked twice, as if she was organizing her words. He comforted her softly, "It's okay. God has his own arrangements for everything. Good girls, maybe you can try me--"
"No!" Susan rejected Megs' suggestion without even listening to the whole thing. The other nuns also said nothing. They tried to dispel the fog or absorb the fog into their bodies.
Petka shook her head under the expectant gazes of the other nuns. "There's too much fog. If we continue to inhale it, even with Susan here, we won't be able to maintain our sanity. We'll really turn into monsters, unless..."
Petka didn't finish his words, but everyone knew that as long as the gap in hell created by Valletta was blocked, the fog would lose its source and would naturally lose its strength and disappear.
But their ending is predictable.
"Let me do it, girls. I've got big bones that should fill the gap. Oh, if anyone's willing to give me a kiss." Megs started clacking, trying to lighten the mood at this heavy moment.
Petka angrily retorted to him, his horrible, rotten face seeming to roll his eyes. "Come on, little virgin Megs, everyone knows you've dedicated your body and soul to God. Stop talking nonsense, or you might not make it to heaven because of your bad words."
Bob also realized that things were heading towards an irreversible bad ending. He raised his hand, a little trembling, "I, maybe I can also contribute my strength." Feeling everyone's eyes on him, Bob subconsciously blushed with embarrassment. "Anyway... I'm just a small figure in this small town that no one cares about. If I can contribute a little bit here, I'd be happy - ow!"
Bob covered his head with his hands, tears welling up in his eyes. Susan stopped tapping his fingers and said, "Hey, young man, cherish your time. We don't need children here. When you die, you'll have plenty of time to experience the quiet of death."
(A very classic American horror movie ending, with no one left alive. The hint I wrote suggests that the direction of the dungeon should be quite obvious... probably, some of the plots are written very vaguely, because the supernatural genre is relatively strict and easy to be checked. This dungeon begins to end like this, bow)
