Chapter 144 Your name is Yunwu
"You'll remember."
Shi Yu did not intend to take the initiative to help her recall this matter.
"After I died, you must have been hypnotized and forgotten some real people and events, but remembered some fictional experiences, such as your name."
Having said that, Shi Yu let go of Yun Xiu, a smile of unknown meaning tugged at the corner of his mouth, "Your original name was Yun Wu."
Yunxiu was completely stunned, her expression stagnant, unable to respond. At this point, there was no need for Shiyu to lie to her; her name was really Yunwu.
The person who supposedly hypnotized her must be the system, which made her forget Shi Yu's existence...
"Why did you die?" After explaining it clearly, Yunxiu was still afraid of him. She moved to the side unconsciously and avoided his gaze.
He pulled her into his arms, tightly wrapped around her waist, and his warm breath fell on her ears. It was so soft, but it sounded like a devil's low moan:
"You pushed me into the water."
*
Yunwu has been living in this dilapidated welfare home ever since she can remember.
Although the place was old and dilapidated, fortunately the teachers were all good. She had no parents, so she treated the teacher who had been teaching her to play the piano as her mother.
The orphanage was called "Love." Yunwu was five and a half when she first spelled the word "Love." There weren't many children in the orphanage at the time—just thirteen. Yunwu was young, so naturally, she received the most attention from the teachers.
Although she has no home, Yunwu likes life here very much. She has few worries and is mostly happy.
Of course she knew that all children were loved by their parents, but she had a teacher and no one bullied her normally, so that was good enough.
Yunwu thought that life would go on like this forever.
Until she encountered that scene, her life changed drastically.
Yunwu rarely interacted with the boys in the yard. They were much more mischievous than the girls and seemed to have endless energy, running and playing everywhere.
Among the six boys, Shi Yu was different. Apart from group activities required by the teacher, he rarely played with other children, and he didn't even talk to them.
Yunwu's favorite teacher, Mr. Lin, often takes him to make handicrafts. He learns very quickly and does not ask for rewards after finishing the work. He just puts down the things and leaves.
Yunwu always felt uncomfortable when she was with him. He was just a little boy, but the way he looked at people was so cold and sharp that it made people feel chilled.
Teacher Lin told Yunwu that Shiyu was a very pitiful child. His parents gave birth to him but did not raise him. They abused the child when he was only a few years old. Later, for some reason, they had a car accident. Shiyu was lucky enough to survive and came to the welfare home.
Because of this, Yunwu gradually began to be willing to approach Shiyu and even played the piano for him.
The way the two of them get along is simply like putting a warm face on a cold butt, one is willing to hit and the other is willing to be beaten.
Shi Yu mostly chose to ignore her deliberate advances. It seemed that the more enthusiastic she was, the colder he would become.
Yunwu is just a child after all, and she doesn't have that much energy to spend time with him every day. When he grows older, this exclusive care is divided among other people.
Yunwu didn't think anything was wrong about this, but Shiyu's attitude became even worse since then.
There are several cats in the welfare home, and Yunwu especially likes to feed them and treat them as her own pets.
Some time later, one of the cats went missing. Yunwu and Teacher Lin searched everywhere but couldn't find the cat. This incident left a deep trauma in her heart, and she once believed that it was her own negligence that caused the kitten to go missing.
It was March that day, and the peach tree in the yard was in full bloom, its leaves and blossoms blazing with fragrance. Yunwu sat beneath the tree, basking in the sun and painting. Not long after, she heard a noise in the corner of the house. She listened carefully and discovered it was the whimpering of a kitten.
Yunwu thought it was the lost cat.
She ran over with joy, but the scene before her was hard to take in. Shi Yu had gotten two fruit knives from somewhere and was dissecting a tabby kitten that had bitten Yun Wu. His expression was cool and handsome, without a trace of nervousness or fear.
Yunwu was so frightened that she lost her voice and felt extremely nauseous, but she couldn't vomit. Her fear overwhelmed her anger, and she turned around and tried to escape, but was caught after a few seconds.
Shi Yu dragged Yun Wu to a corner and covered her mouth tightly to prevent her from making any sound.
"Don't bark, or I won't let the remaining two go. Think it over carefully."
Shi Yu was just a seven-year-old boy, but the words he said and the cold aura he exuded were completely inconsistent with his age and good looks.
Yunwu just wanted to tell the teacher, and pretended to promise him that she would not tell anyone, so that he would let her go.
Shi Yu didn't know whether she believed it or not. He just felt angry when looking at her. "You are wrong. You shouldn't be so nice to a cat. As for me, it's okay that I can't compare to others, but you deliberately ignore me..."
"I didn't!" Yun Wu suppressed her nausea and immediately retorted, "You're the one who went too far. You ignored me every time. You even said you didn't like me getting close to you. Why are you blaming me now?"
She didn't even dare to cry, for fear that crying would cause some bad consequences. No matter what, the two cats were innocent, how could Shi Yu kill them?
"It's obviously your fault!" Shi Yu's eyes instantly turned red with anger when he heard her words, "You had to get close to me and please me, and then ran away without saying a word. You were nice to other people in front of me, you are not allowed to do this again!"
Yunwu was frightened by him. After all this time, even the teacher had never been mean to her...
Shi Yu snorted coldly and walked away to deal with the cat. Yun Wu walked towards him and asked him to return the kitten's body to her, as she wanted to bury it under the flower bed.
"Is it worthy?!" Shi Yu disagreed and walked away with the bag, "Just throw it into the river."
At this time, everyone was taking a nap, and they were the only two in the yard. Yunwu ran after Shiyu, "Give it to me, don't throw it away!"
Shi Yu became more and more angry, leaving Yun Wu far behind, "Don't even think about it!"
She ultimately failed to catch up with him and could only watch Shi Yu throw the kitten into the river.
There was a wide asphalt road between them. It was 1:30 in the afternoon and the sun was shining brightly, making people feel warm and comfortable. But Yunwu didn't feel that way. She was shivering from head to toe.
It turns out that Shi Yu is such a person.
Shi Yu stood by the river for a while, then walked towards Yunwu. He was half a head taller than her. Although he was a child, she inexplicably felt a sense of oppression as if she were in front of an adult.
He repeatedly reminded her not to care so much about a few smelly cats. They were dirty and messy, and if they were infected with bacteria, they would be the ones who would suffer. She should stop pretending to be so sympathetic.
And those kids, don’t spend as much time with them as you can. They won’t learn anything if they are dirty all day.
