Void Jigsaw Puzzle

Chapter 31 Mr. Liang

Half an alley away from the "Rele" bar is the Leyou Mansion that everyone knows. Although this is not its real name, no one seems to care about its real name anymore.

The heavy gate of the mansion blocks out all the noise outside and tightly surrounds the luxury inside, creating two different worlds inside and outside the wall.

The layout of the mansion strictly follows many of the obsessions of human civilization on ancient Earth.

The roads, courtyards, side rooms and decorations inside are symmetrical on the left and right. One end of the central axis is directly connected to the gate, and the other end extends towards the main hall. It is divided into two paths on the left and right by a pond with a diameter of about five meters. Part of them leads to the backyard respectively, and the remaining part merges into a main road behind the pond, leading directly to the main hall door.

There stands a rugged and towering rock in the pond, which is deeply submerged in the water. Colorful fish swim around it.

There are green grasses on both sides of the road. Their color does not change from summer to late autumn.

There are exquisite stone sculptures of people placed in the grass, which are lifelike from the hair, to the eyes, and even to the vest lines on the naked upper body.

However, on this night, the focus of the entire mansion was not in these areas, nor even in the extremely luxuriously decorated main hall and the east and west wing rooms of different styles surrounding it.

After passing through the main hall and coming to the backyard, you will soon see a dense grove. After walking through the grove, you will come to a five-story banyan tree. The crown of the banyan tree is quite large and completely covers the area below it.

In the shadows, there are seven independent stone huts. The one in the middle is slightly larger. The door is closed at the moment, but some light is coming through the window.

This is the protagonist of tonight.

Inside the cabin, Pierce stood cautiously on the soft carpet, lowering his head slightly in a humble manner, facing the man a few meters away from him.

The man was sitting on the luxurious leather chair in the middle, with his legs crossed and a glass of scarlet wine in his left hand. He swayed slightly while looking down at the founder of the Prophet Society.

"Mr. Liang, as you instructed, I have asked them to wait in the main hall. Even Pu Yue, I didn't let her come here this time." Pierce said.

"That's more like it. You have to know that I handed them over to you not so that you can start a harem." The man called "Master Liang" spoke in a very calm tone, but every word revealed his ruthlessness.

Pierce could only feel beads of sweat oozing from his forehead, and he secretly groaned in his heart: "Could it be... that he found out about me and Pu Yue? This shouldn't be the case. We are very low-key..."

"Remember, I don't care how successful you are outside or how others admire you. In front of me, you are just Pierce, just an elderly retired man. Everything you have is given to you by me." The man's voice remained calm.

"I see......"

Pierce couldn't quite articulate how he founded the Prophetic Society or how he met the Twelve Apostles. As far as he could remember, all of this had happened over a year ago, but every time he tried to find any trace of it, he came up empty-handed. His only certainty was that he had discovered the beginnings of the "Incomplete Civilization" theory in the library where Zhong Chenmu worked, deduced and initially verified it, perfectly integrating it with his memories of the original purpose of founding the Prophetic Society. Within a few months, he had achieved a shift in purpose and attracted a growing number of followers.

Of course, he also knew that all this was inseparable from the support of Mr. Liang behind him.

Considering that he had founded the Prophet Society in Leyou Pavilion in his memory, and Master Liang also lived in seclusion in Leyou Pavilion, perhaps his action was instructed by Master Liang.

However, he had no recollection of this, and Mr. Liang never mentioned it.

He only remembered that Master Liang brought him twelve apostles and told him that these were poor women working in Leyou Pavilion. Their husbands had all lost contact with them. In order to help them and other "incomplete" people like them who had lost their relatives and loved ones, he had an obligation to carry forward the Prophet Society and make them and more of them complete.

However, later on, Mr. Liang's instructions changed.

"Pierce, I hope you understand that Nameless City is crumbling, and all industries are shrinking. I can't find the cause, and even with my financial resources, I'm powerless to do anything. Perhaps this situation is related to your theory of 'incomplete civilization.' After all, if that theory is true, it means that Nameless City is a dead system with no communication with the outside world. Such a system is lifeless, just like the pond at the entrance to the main hall. If the water is not regularly changed, the fish in it will eventually die... Therefore, if I initially hoped that you would help each 'incomplete person' find their lost parts and establish the Prophet Society, then now the Prophet Society must establish a more ambitious vision: to restore vitality to the incomplete civilization of Nameless City."

Pierce quickly reviewed every meeting he had with Mr. Liang in his mind.

He didn't know why he was like this, but every time he faced this man, he felt an invisible sense of oppression. If he didn't mobilize every cell in his brain, it would be difficult for him to withstand the tricky questions or harsh conditions that the other party might raise at any time.

And this time, it's no exception.

His thoughts were once again interrupted by the man's voice.

"No, you don't understand! We don't have much time left, and yet you're parading around the Leyou Pavilion with those twelve women, pinning your hopes on a 17-year-old virgin!"

Pierce then realized that the "virgin" the man was referring to was Zhong Chenmu.

He wanted to laugh, but he didn't dare. He could only explain, "Zhong Chenmu is a special young man. We can't underestimate him just because of his age. In fact, I've also reported to you that the civilization outside Wuming City has designated him as our interface with them."

The man frowned slightly. "I know. I'm just reminding you to hurry. If he's willing to cooperate with us, we should make full use of him. At the same time, we should thoroughly investigate what makes him so special that he's so favored by those outside... However, if he doesn't cooperate, then we must also prioritize the overall situation."

The man emphasized the last five words.

Pierce's heart trembled when he heard this.

He had seen Mr. Liang's methods.

Before she could reply, the man added, "Let's find an opportunity soon. I also want to meet this Zhong Chenmu!"
