Witch Special

Chapter 85: This novel has something very old but very cool

Although he was curious about the specific mechanism of the creation of strange people, Lin Zhenxi didn't treat this freshly baked weirdo in front of him any specially. It was just a water plant that had turned into a spirit. If it were kelp, maybe he could take it back and make a snack, but water plants were fine.

With a single Fiery Curse, deep blue flames erupted from the water sprite's feet, rapidly spreading across its body. The sprite had barely opened its eyes to see the color of the sky above, still posing triumphantly, when it was struck directly by the terrifying black magic. The intense pain caused it to let out a shrill scream, and it instinctively turned its head and jumped back into the nearby lake.

However, the main difference between the Fiery Blaze and the more common fire spell, "Blazing Blaze," lies in the fact that its deep blue flames cannot be extinguished. The flames of the Fiery Blaze are a foul magical flame that consumes and consumes everything. Even sturdy magical tools and shields are powerless to withstand the Fiery Blaze's incineration. To combat the Fiery Blaze, any fire-fighting measures are ineffective. High-level sealing techniques are essential, or one must be prudent and avoid being harmed by the Fiery Blaze's dark blue flames.

So even if the waterweed monster jumped into the lake, the flames on its body still did not dissipate. Fortunately, water cannot be ignited by the fierce fire, so the fierce fire did not continue to spread. Instead, it automatically dissipated after burning the waterweed monster into slag in the water.

Eliminating this insignificant little character was just a casual move by Lin Zhenxi, and there was no need to worry too much. After killing the newly appeared weirdo, Lin Zhenxi turned around with a special sound effect and returned directly to his magic position.

The slimes had been released into a lake connected to the underground water system, but Lin Zhenxi still needed to set goals for them and help them plan their routes. Otherwise, they would just drift aimlessly in the water, no different from jellyfish except for the lack of tentacles under their umbrellas. However, there were too many slimes, and Lin Zhenxi couldn't possibly take care of every one of them, even adding Yanyan wasn't feasible.

This kind of thing is actually not very difficult to solve. What Lin Zhenxi lacks now is actually a supercomputer that can help her with calculations. However, this computer needs to be seamlessly connected to the magic side, so that it can directly observe the Glass Altar and tell the slimes what to do next on behalf of Lin Zhenxi.

Lin Zhenxi felt a little regretful at the thought. If she had known these blood rats would be swept away, she should have signed temporary familiar contracts with each one. That way, she could have remotely controlled their self-destruction instead of having to hunt them down one by one like now. It was true that many times, the troubles people encountered were actually caused by themselves.

Lin Zhenxi had actually already completed the auxiliary work of increasing computing power during her previous journeys to other worlds. After all, as a modern person, it was understandable that she was unaware of the importance of computers. Computers can calculate data in a fraction of a second that would take a lifetime, or even dozens of lifetimes, for humans to calculate. It was precisely thanks to the superior performance of computers and supercomputers that human society has undergone the rapid changes since entering the new century.

Even if aliens appeared later, without the support of supercomputers, humans would have no way to quickly digest the knowledge from the other world and push their own technology to a new level.

Lin Zhenxi had once consulted her teacher about this very question, but her nearly omniscient teacher had a bewildered look on her face. According to the great witch, improvement in magic often hinged on understanding its purpose and that crucial flash of inspiration. Simply piling up computational power was simply calculating things that were already known over and over again, a waste of time and resources and completely meaningless.

Lin Zhenxi then realized that while her master possessed a vast knowledge and a formidable memory, he hadn't experienced the information age, and therefore didn't grasp the importance of powerful computing power in research, work, and life. Perhaps, however, the additional computing power wasn't necessary for her, as she wouldn't need it. She only had her own responsibilities, not the burden of transforming society. Whether studying other people's magic or creating her own, she could accomplish it all on her own.

Although she didn't receive any clear and valuable help from her teacher, Lin Zhenxi eventually found her own solution. It was just an additional terminal that could process data. She could just make something similar to the intelligent AI.

The main world's smart devices were already mature, allowing for direct replication of experience. Then, while Lin Zhenxi was carrying out her fourth commission, she traveled to a multi-dimensional world so deep it was impossible to see the bottom. While that world appeared to be an ordinary otherworldly world, it contained Earth, and Earth contained the countries of the main world. It looked much like the main world before the aliens appeared.

But just when Lin Zhenxi thought that this was a rare peaceful world without mysterious powers, she met two elementary school students who could overturn an entire city with a single shot of magic cannon...

The class templates for those two elementary school students were still in Lin Zhenxi's witch book: "Mage." The names were unremarkable, but the magical fluctuations emanating from those two elementary school girls during their battle were truly outrageous. Lin Zhenxi felt that if any of them launched a single cannonball at the city below, the city called "Hai Ming City" would be wiped off the map.

Honestly, if it weren't for the later appearance of a male magician, Lin Zhenxi really feels that the class template for those two little girls should have been "Magical Girls." Otherwise, how else can we explain their holy light transformation before the battle begins? Their combat uniforms are primarily cute, not practical. And in all the fighting, no one seems to be actually injured, like a missing limb or leg. If it weren't for the clear sense of the powerful magical fluctuations that were shaking the air, Lin Zhenxi would have thought they weren't fighting, but just playing around.

Fighting is no joke, nor is it about who can shout the loudest or curse the most. From the moment you step onto the battlefield, your life hangs on your belt. So, if you don't have the courage to risk your life, then you'd better go home to your mother as soon as possible.

But once the storm subsided, Lin Zhenxi, having used some adult tactics to gain the trust of one of the two elementary school students, sensed her resolve. In that earth-shattering battle, she, barely ten years old, shouldered the heavy burden of protecting her own world. Her overzealous efforts and lack of control over her magical powers had left her with countless hidden wounds. While examining her, Lin Zhenxi was horrified by her seemingly intact, yet in reality, ravaged body.

In order to defeat her nemesis and pull him out of his despair, she had put her whole self into it.

Lin Zhenxi initially approached the elementary school student, claiming he could repair the magic device. During the battle, due to his sheer effortlessness and lack of maintenance, a crack had developed in the core of the magic device. If left unattended, this supposedly ancient relic would likely be completely destroyed. Of course, its official name was the Heart of the Rising Sun, an intelligent magic device capable of attack, defense, sealing, search, and communication.

Everything else didn't matter, but Lin Zhenxi was truly envious of the auxiliary calculation function; it was exactly what she had always dreamed of. The main reason she stayed in that world after completing the company's commission was to understand the design concept and manufacturing principles of the magic device, so that she could replicate it herself.

Under the guise of repair, Lin Zhenxi could analyze the magic device in detail and obtain what she wanted. As for theft, regardless of whether the magic device was bound to its owner, Lin Zhenxi's own moral standards alone were unacceptable. She had already betrayed her conscience by deceiving an elementary school girl; would she then steal from her? Her heart wasn't that dark.

But after interacting with the elementary school student, Lin Zhenxi was moved by her strength and inherent innocence, and she began to heal her hidden injuries. Unexpectedly, this unexpected discovery led to a bright future. The Heart of the Rising Sun, possessing intelligence comparable to that of a human, became warmer after witnessing Lin Zhenxi's genuine healing of its master. It began to actively cooperate with Lin Zhenxi's examinations, even teaching her how to repair itself. By the time Lin Zhenxi finished repairing the Heart of the Rising Sun, she had gained a thorough understanding of the underlying architecture of intelligent magic devices. Returning to the main world, Lin Zhenxi used her company points to redeem the necessary materials, eliminating any bells and whistles she didn't need, and crafted a single intelligent magic device solely for auxiliary computing.

However, perhaps due to his limited technical skills, Lin Zhenxi couldn't compress the intelligent magic device to a size that could be held in his hand. The Heart of the Rising Sun could easily be reduced to a small red bead. Despite his best efforts to reduce its size, when Lin Zhenxi finished, the intelligent magic device was still the size of a van. Worse still, because he hadn't anticipated obtaining the Space Cube, Lin Zhenxi hadn't considered ease of disassembly when constructing this massive device, making both disassembly and assembly extremely difficult. In preparation for his journey to this world, Lin Zhenxi spent nearly an entire day simply disassembling the device to fit within the Space Cube, sweating profusely.

That was why Lin Zhenxi hadn't taken it out for so long. But now, in order to arrange the slimes' routes, she had to take out this big guy that could serve as her second brain.
