Chapter 446 Water Talisman "Lake Burial" (Copycat Version)
After announcing the spell card's true name, Lin Zhenxi threw it into the air. The spell card disintegrated as it flew, transforming into a vast cloud of magical mist shimmering with blue light. It quickly spread outward, enveloping the surrounding sky in the blink of an eye.
Then, the mist quickly solidified, transforming into blue clouds. As their volume grew, these clouds inevitably collided and rubbed against each other, continuously releasing energy. However, the energy wasn't released through conventional lightning, but rather through water.
To be more precise, it was a torrential downpour. The energies that were aroused transformed into condensed water droplets in mid-air, gathering together to form a continuous rain line that bombarded Belladir below.
This magical water was not afraid of the flames burning on Beladir's body; instead, it effectively suppressed them. Under the pressure of the continuous torrential rain, the flames on Beladir's body were extremely compressed, and even his body was unable to stand firmly due to the combined force of the rain.
Furthermore, the evolution of this spell card goes far beyond a simple rainstorm. To be more precise, this stage is merely a small spillover of the spell card's accumulated power. If one fails to notice this and quickly leaves the area, the subsequent attack will essentially determine the outcome.
This spell card...cannot be said to be Lin Zhenxi's original creation. When she was learning how to make spell cards, teacher Patchouli also gave her some technical guidance, including some advanced techniques, and the accumulation of power and instantaneous burst are very important links. Teacher Patchouli used her own spell card "Water Talisman [Lake Burial]" to show Lin Zhenxi this technique. Lin Zhenxi thought this idea was very good, so she copied it directly.
Ahhh, of course Lin Zhenxi knows that this is not the right approach, but a good idea is right in front of her, but she doesn't use it just because the copyright is not there. Wouldn't it take Lin Zhenxi more time to master this technique?
Driven by this mindset, Hayashi Maki copied Patchouli's idea and created a spell similar in principle to Patchouli's "Lake Burial." However, due to her limited skills in spell card making, Hayashi Maki couldn't expand the spell's attack area to the sky like Patchouli had. She could only create a torrential rain from above, followed by a final water burial.
Although it is also "lake burial", there is actually a big difference.
Fortunately, by creating this spell card, Hayashi Maki mastered the technique for creating spell cards that accumulate power. Upon learning of this, Patchouli, far from being disgusted by Hayashi's copying, actually encouraged her to do so. Learning from the powerful in order to become stronger isn't shameful; as long as one can develop their own path based on this, rather than completely following the old ways of their predecessors, then it's acceptable.
If it was Patchouli's original "Lake Burial", the venue where Lin Zhenxi was at the moment would probably be filled with an ever-expanding water ball, and the enemies sucked into the center of the water ball would be subjected to increasingly terrifying water pressure. Under the triple damage of hypothermia, suffocation and water pressure, it would probably be quite difficult to continue to maintain consciousness.
Lin Zhenxi's Lake Burial is much simpler. While using torrential rain to suppress enemies on the ground, the clouds above are actually constantly transforming into pure water. As the magical effect wears off, the clouds can no longer provide support for the water above, and a large amount of water falls from the sky. Even if the enemy doesn't faint, being swept into such a huge flow of water is definitely unpleasant.
When all the magic power in the spell card was transferred from the cloud to the water, the cloud finally could no longer bear the weight of the water and instantly broke apart. As the cloud shattered, a massive, flat layer of water, nearly covering the entire wedding venue, appeared above Beladil's head. Then, under the influence of gravity, it freely fell and crashed heavily to the ground. As for Beladil, he was merely a byproduct of this attack.
After all, even Lin Zhenxi and the other two sisters were within the attack range of this spell card. If Lin Zhenxi hadn't immediately turned around and opened the portal to escape after realizing something was wrong, she would have been trapped inside.
The situation was urgent and Lin Zhenxi had no time to take care of the three sisters, so she ran away alone. Elta and Skulti suffered the same treatment as Belladir. They were both sucked into the center of the water body that gradually returned to a spherical shape by Lin Zhenxi's "Lake Burial".
Lin Zhenxi flew through the portal into the air, then turned to look behind him at a giant water ball that resembled an upside-down bowl. The ball's interior had begun to spin, and through the clear water, Lin Zhenxi could see three red figures swirling in the vortex, looking quite miserable.
Hmmmm, they won't just choke on the water and drown, right? Lin Zhenxi frowned, thinking with some worry.
The power of this spell card on the three sisters was truly excessive. Lin Zhenxi couldn't even tell which of the three figures was Elta and which was Belladir, as their long hair had been stretched straight by the current.
There was no other way. After landing on the ground, Lin Zhenxi could only pull out Skulti, who was the easiest to recognize because of his short hair, from the vortex and throw him at his feet. Then he began to track the mental fluctuations of the remaining two girls from the Alien Clan through mental perception, trying to identify their identities.
Skulti had choked on a bellyful of water, but luckily she hadn't fainted yet. After being singled out by Lin Zhenxi, she immediately began coughing loudly and spitting out large gulps of water.
In reality, these waters are conjured by magic, and once the magic that maintains them dissipates, they will naturally disappear as well, so there's no need to worry about water scuba or anything like that. However, while they still exist, they're no different from water, so if you drown in them, you're truly dead; there's no chance of resurrection after the water disappears.
Lin Zhenxi quickly gave up trying to identify the two Alien girls still struggling in the water ball, because she found that their mental fluctuations were beginning to weaken sharply. If she didn't release them, someone might really die.
So Lin Zhenxi quickly lifted the magical effect of the entire spell card, causing the entire water ball to disintegrate, and rescued Elta and Beladil, who had been rolled up for a long time like clothes stuffed into a washing machine.
Because Lin Zhenxi had interrupted the effects of "Lake Burial," the magically generated water began to rapidly disappear, revealing the two Alien Tribe girls who had been swallowed by the current. Lin Zhenxi used his mage's hand to drag them over. After sorting them out, he tossed Elta next to Skulti and focused on checking on Beladir.
After being struck by Lin Zhenxi's "Water Talisman [Lake Burial]," Belladil's fire-attributed magic power completely dissipated, leaving him as clean as a university monk's wallet. After removing the influence of the intense magic power, Lin Zhenxi finally "saw" the root cause of Belladil's abnormal behavior.
Lin Zhenxi's elemental perception revealed that Belladir's magic pool had turned gray. A toxin was lurking within it, spreading from the pool to the surrounding area. This toxin was causing Belladir's magic to become uncontrollable, causing her physical perception to malfunction and her mental state to become disturbed.
Because the magic power that was running wild was fire, Belladir felt very hot. To cool down, she had to release the magic power in her body. If Lin Zhenxi hadn't stopped her, Belladir would have turned into an arsonist, setting fire to everything she went until there was no magic left in her body.
That was a terrifying situation, because if she lost control, Belladir's magic power would be completely depleted, leaving not even a single seed. In that case, she would even lose her magic power forever and could no longer be a spellcaster.
And now, with Lin Zhenxi's "help", although Belladil also choked badly on the water, the water provided Belladil with enough coolness. After suppressing the heat of magic, Belladil only felt a little hot in the body, and no longer had that strong feeling of heat.
But this situation was only temporary, as the poison still lingered in Beladir's magic pool. It was only now that the pool was devoid of magic power, freeing it from the soil it needed to wreak havoc, that it calmed down. Once Beladir's magic power naturally recovered, the burning sensation would return, and sooner or later, Beladir would lose control once again.
How interesting! It's actually a poison specifically targeting magic. Gragul doesn't have magic, so where did he find this poison that specifically targets spellcasters?
Lin Zhenxi still held Gragul's soul in his hand. As long as he threw this soul into the meditation basin, Lin Zhenxi would not be afraid of not being able to ask this question.
By this time, Skulti had already woken Alta. Thanks to Lin Zhenxi's cancellation of the "lake burial" magic, they didn't have to vomit the water in their stomachs, so they quickly regained their mobility. Seeing Beladil lying in front of Lin Zhenxi, his life or death unknown, Alta and Skulti simply ignored Lin Zhenxi and ran over to grab Beladil's hand.
It’s true, sisterly love is deep.
Looking at the two girls from the Alien Tribe, each holding hands with Beladil and anxiously calling out his name, Lin Zhenxi felt a glimmer of humanity. Putting aside their personality issues, at least in terms of caring for each other, they were truly impeccable.
Wait, radiance? When did humanity finally shine? Lin Zhenxi rubbed her eyes, making sure she wasn't mistaken; their bodies were indeed glowing.
