Chapter 403 Caesar is my brother
Luo Xi immediately understood Ling Yuan's concerns. She said calmly, "You're worried about the dangers of childbirth."
The moment these words landed, the temperature in the room plummeted. Damon's eyes glared, his hand already grasping Ling Yuan's collar, his knuckles white. "What do you mean? Is Sissi in danger?"
Ivan quickly stepped forward and held his brother's shoulder: "Calm down."
Rosie raised her hand and motioned them to stop: "Don't be nervous, I've given birth to several babies, I'm not that fragile." Her tone was relaxed, but her eyes were extremely firm, as if she was just talking about tomorrow's dinner menu.
Ling Yuan didn't dodge Damon's anger. He just looked at Luo Xi, a trace of worry flashing in his red eyes: "But this time is different. Three cubs are being conceived at the same time, and the energy fluctuations are very strong."
"So?" Luo Xi raised her eyebrows and gently stroked her bulging belly. "The little ones in here can't be more naughty than Fan Zuo and Fan You."
Damon let go of Lingyuan's collar and took a step back, frowning. Ivan quietly held Rosie's hand, and the warmth from his fingertips warmed her heart.
Ling Yuan straightened his tangled collar and regained his composure. "I'm just suggesting you make every possible preparation."
A shadow flashed by, and the next second, a small, dark creature rushed into the room. It transformed at an astonishing speed, transforming into a black-haired little boy in the blink of an eye, rushing straight into Rosie's arms.
"Mom, help! My brother hit me!" Caesar shouted for help, but his eyes were as bright as a cat that had stolen some fish, and his little hands tightly grasped the corner of Rosie's clothes.
Fan Zuo and Fan You came in panting, their little faces flushed red.
"Caesar trampled down our castle!" Fan Zuo bit his lower lip, his eyes red.
"It took us a whole day to make it!" Fan You added from the side, clenching his little fists tightly.
Fan Xiao followed behind with long legs, his silver hair gleaming coldly in the sunlight. He leaned against the doorframe with his arms folded, his icy blue eyes scanning the little ones.
"What's the point of complaining to Mom?" Fan Xiao snorted coldly, "A man should solve problems with his fists."
Fan Zuo and Fan You looked at each other, and their shoulders slumped at the same time.
"We can't beat him." Fan Zuo muttered softly.
"He is too strong." Fan You added in a lower voice.
Rosie looked down at Caesar in her arms. Those eyes, identical to Kyle's, stared at her innocently. A classic case of the villain complaining first. She sighed softly and ruffled Caesar's black hair.
"Caesar, you can't bully your brothers." Rosie said in a gentle but unquestionable tone, "Go and apologize, and then help them rebuild the castle."
Caesar pouted and rolled his eyes, "But I didn't mean to do that."
"Even if you didn't mean it, you still have to apologize." Rosie insisted.
Caesar blinked, as if assessing his mother's determination. Finally, he slipped out of Rosie's arms and shuffled towards Fan Zuo and Fan You.
"I'm sorry." He muttered, his voice almost inaudible.
Luo Xi turned to Fan Zuo and Fan You, the corners of her mouth slightly raised: "I will ask the kitchen to prepare your favorite snacks as compensation."
The two little guys' eyes lit up, their silver-haired faces instantly lit up with joy. Fan Zuo's originally tense mouth relaxed, and Fan You jumped up, waving his hands in the air.
"Thank you, Mom!" They said in unison, their voices as clear as wind chimes.
Fan Zuo quietly tugged at the hem of Fan You's shirt, and the two exchanged glances, as if silently celebrating this small victory. Luo Xi noticed this small gesture and chuckled to herself. Although young, these two wolf cubs had already learned to work together seamlessly.
Fan Xiao had unknowingly stood behind Luo Xi. His slender fingers gently rested on her shoulders, their warmth radiating through the thin fabric. He leaned over, his lips almost touching her ear, and spoke in a low voice, "You're too indulgent towards them."
Hot air brushed past her ears, and Luo Xi felt a subtle tingling sensation. She tilted her head and met Fan Xiao's icy blue eyes, which contained a subtle smile.
"That's called fair treatment." Luo Xi raised her eyebrows, a sly look flashing in her eyes. "Or do you want some snacks too?"
Fan Xiao's fingers slid from Luo Xi's shoulders to the side of her neck, his fingertips gently caressing the sensitive skin. He raised the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing a meaningful smile: "I don't want snacks."
Rosie felt her cheeks heat up slightly. She was about to respond when the baby inside her belly suddenly moved, as if protesting being ignored. It felt like a tiny bubble bursting inside her body, both strange and unexpected. She couldn't help but inhale softly, her palms instinctively covering her belly.
Fan Xiao's expression instantly changed from flirting to worry. His ice-blue eyes stared at Luo Xi's face, his brows furrowed. "Are you feeling unwell again?"
"It's okay, they just moved a little." Rosie soothed, her voice soft but firm.
Caesar was quick to notice his mother's unusual behavior and, with a kick of his legs, he was almost instantly beside Rosie. His small hands gently touched Rosie's bulging belly, feeling the warmth.
"Are your brothers and sisters kicking you?" He looked up and asked, complex emotions flashing in his black eyes. Those eyes, which were exactly the same as Kyle's, were now filled with worry and curiosity.
"Yeah, they're very lively." Rosie smiled, feeling the rhythm of the life in her belly. This feeling was wonderful and intimate, as if there was an invisible bond that closely connected her to the little life in her belly.
Caesar frowned, his expression serious, unlike a child. He stared directly at Rosie's belly, patted it gently with his little hand, and said firmly, "Don't bully Mommy, or I'll beat you up."
The adults in the room all laughed. Rosie ruffled Caesar's hair, the soft touch spreading through her fingertips, and a warmth welled up in her heart. This little guy, still a child, already had the demeanor of a protector. Even in the face of impending danger, this moment of warmth made it all worth it.
"Okay, go have fun," Rosie said softly. "Remember, Caesar has to help his brothers rebuild the castle."
The three little guys scurried out of the room, with Caesar walking last. Before leaving, he glanced back at Rosie, his dark eyes filled with reluctance and worry, as if to make sure she was okay. Rosie nodded at him and made a reassuring gesture.
After the door closed, the room returned to silence. Rosie leaned against the headboard, her palm gently caressing her abdomen, feeling the subtle rise and fall. The life within her seemed to sense her touch and moved slightly again, as if in response. Ivan and Damon stood on either side of the bed, like two guardian statues, their eyes focused and alert, as if ready to respond to any possible danger.
Ling Yuan sat in a chair by the window, the sunlight filtering through the gaps in the curtains onto his white hair, gilding it. His red eyes gleamed with thought, and his fingers tapped the chair's armrests in a slow, rhythmic rhythm.
"Regarding the birthing matter," Ling Yuan spoke, his voice calm as water, yet carrying a force that could not be ignored. "I have contacted the best medical team."
Luo Xi looked up at Ling Yuan, noticing the well-hidden worry in his eyes. She knew what emotions were swirling within this seemingly calm man. She extended her hand, and Ling Yuan immediately took it. His palm was warm and strong.
"Thank you, you are so nice." Luo Xi said softly, feeling the warmth and sense of security from Ling Yuan's palm.
The days of pregnancy slipped by like water. Rosie's daily routine was simple, almost boring: eat, sleep, play with her cubs. Three months of pregnancy had left her belly slightly swollen, and she had gained more than ten pounds.
"This is definitely the easiest pregnancy I've ever experienced." Rosie couldn't help but sigh as she leaned back on the lounge chair on the balcony, gently stroking her bulging belly with her palm. The sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting mottled shadows on her body.
She closed her eyes, savoring the rare tranquility. Fan Zuo and Fan You were chasing and playing in the garden, their silver hair gleaming in the sun. Ling Xing slept soundly in Ling Yuan's arms, occasionally purring softly. Days like these almost made her forget her past suffering and struggles.
A black shadow flashed by, and the next second, a small figure had climbed onto her lounge chair.
"Mom." Caesar's little hands tightly grasped the corner of Rosie's clothes, his black eyes staring straight at her belly, "What are they doing?"
Luo Xi smiled and ruffled Caesar's black hair: "Sleeping, growing up."
Caesar frowned, his expression too serious to be a child's. "Will they take you away?"
This question made Rosie stunned for a moment. She carefully looked at Caesar's expression. His eyes, which were exactly the same as Kyle's, were filled with anxiety and vigilance.
"No." Rosie said softly, pulling Caesar into her arms, "A mother's love won't diminish just because she has more brothers and sisters."
Caesar didn't answer, but buried his head in Rosie's neck, his small hands tightly wrapped around her neck, as if to confirm her existence.
Rosie's heart sank as she felt Caesar's warmth against her body.
This child has a very hard life.
When she was pregnant with him, Kyle was trapped in a turbulent space. Not long after he was born and saw his father, she went to Blue Star again. Caesar could only wander with Kyle in the space tunnel.
Of all the children, he spent the shortest time with her.
He is so clingy to her now, probably subconsciously looking for compensation.
Luo Xi pulled the little body into her arms, gently stroking his back. Fan Zuo and Fan You had already established their own little worlds, building castles and going on adventures every day. Ling Xing was too young; all he did was sleep and feed.
Only Caesar is stuck at the most sensitive age.
There were too many debts from the past, and she unconsciously put more thoughts on him.
"Caesar, do you want to go play with your brothers?" Rosie whispered. "They've built a new castle in the garden."
"No." Caesar shook his head, his black hair shimmering in the sunlight. "I'm protecting my mother."
"Protect me?" Luo Xi laughed. "Mom is safe and doesn't need protection."
Caesar looked up, his eyes so serious that it made people feel distressed: "Dad said that the little ones in the belly are very naughty and will make you uncomfortable. I will watch them, and they are not allowed to bully you."
A warm feeling welled up in Rosie's heart. This little guy, even at such a young age, already had the demeanor of a guardian.
"You know what?" Rosie pinched Caesar's face, "You were much more naughty than them when you were in my belly."
Caesar blinked, immediately interested. "Really? What did I do?"
"I did a lot," Luo Xi said with a deliberately stern face. "Mom thought that when you came out, she would spank you first."
"Mom, I was wrong." The little black dragon immediately lowered his head.
罗茜心疼得不行,“妈妈逗你呢,我的凯撒这么可爱,妈妈爱你还来不及,怎么舍得揍你?”
The little guy's eyes lit up. "Then what did I do?" he asked, his eyes burning.
Rosie leaned back in the recliner, her fingers gently playing with Caesar's black hair. "You kick me every day, especially at night. It keeps me awake."
"I didn't mean it!" Caesar hurriedly explained, his face tense.
"Mom knows." Luo Xi kissed his forehead. "When you were in my belly, you felt that the world outside was very exciting and wanted to come out and see it quickly."
Caesar nodded and said seriously: "That's why I'm anxious."
"Yes, you are too anxious." Rosie pinched his nose with a smile.
Caesar puffed out his chest and said, "When I grow up, I want to be as strong as Dad and protect Mom and my brothers and sisters."
"You're already very powerful now," Luo Xi squeezed his little hand, "I saw you transform yesterday, and you flew much higher than last time."
"That's because I practice every day!" Caesar said proudly. "Soon I'll be able to fly above the clouds!"
Luo Xi pretended to be surprised: "Really? Then will Mommy have to look up to see you from now on?"
"No!" Caesar said anxiously, grabbing Rosie's hand. "I will come down to see my mother every day."
Luo Xi was amused by his serious look: "Okay, Mom will wait."
Caesar suddenly sat up straight, his face serious: "Mom, will the brother or sister in my belly be like me?"
"You mean, will they make trouble?" Rosie thought for a moment. "Every child is different, but they are all their mother's babies."
"Will they take you away?" Caesar's voice became lower and there was a flash of anxiety in his eyes.
Rosie's heart trembled, finally understanding the little guy's true worries. She pulled Caesar into her arms and hugged him tightly. "No, my heart is big enough for all my children. And," she scratched Caesar's nose, "you have a special place in my heart, and no one can take it away from you."
Caesar raised his head and looked straight into Rosie's eyes: "Really?"
"Really." Rosie kissed his forehead, "You are mommy's first dragon baby. You will always be special."
Caesar was finally satisfied and nestled back into Rosie's arms. He placed his small hand on Rosie's belly and whispered softly, "Hello, I'm your brother. I'll protect you when you come out."
The fetus in her belly seemed to sense Caesar's words and moved slightly. Caesar looked up in surprise: "Mom! They responded to me!"
"They know you," Rosie smiled, "They know you're the older brother."
Caesar grinned, revealing his small fangs: "Then I will be a good brother."
Sunlight filtered through the leaves onto the mother and child, and time seemed to freeze in this moment. Rosie gently caressed the two lives, one in her arms and the third in her belly, her heart filled with warmth and anticipation.
The wind blew gently, bringing with it the echoing laughter of birds from the garden. In the distance, the stars chirped. The sounds of home, the sounds of life, filled the world.
