Transmigrating into the only holy female in the interstellar world, the orcs who have no descendants
Chapter 365 Dreams and Reality
Luo Xi's eyes grew darker and darker, and sleepiness washed over her like a tide. She clearly didn't want to sleep, but her body refused to obey her, and her consciousness gradually slipped into the depths of darkness.
"here we go again…"
In a trance, she felt herself being pulled by some force, passing through layers of fog and falling into another world.
When she opened her eyes again, she heard a slight movement on the other side of the bed - Kyle was sitting on the edge of the bed, his amber eyes full of worry.
"Sissi, you're finally awake." Kyle's voice was low, and his knuckles gently brushed across her forehead. "You slept for almost twenty hours this time. Mike was watching over you, but he just left."
Rosie was stunned. Twenty hours? She tried to recall her sleep, but only vague fragments remained.
"I seem to have had a dream..." she murmured, the image of the silver-haired man flashing through her mind.
"What dream?" Kyle leaned forward, staring at her face.
Luo Xi shook her head, a sudden pain in her temple. "I can't remember clearly. It feels very real, but I can't grasp it..."
Kyle frowned, his palm resting on the back of her hand. He could sense a noticeable increase in the energy fluctuations within Rosie's body, which didn't align with simple sleep recovery.
"Mike, come in."
As soon as he finished speaking, the hatch slid open. Mike walked in, a complicated look flashing in his blue eyes.
"Mike, please help check on Sissi." Kyle stood up and made room next to Rosie.
Mike nodded and walked to Rosie's bedside. He stretched out his hand, his fingertips shimmering with a faint silver light, and gently pressed it on Rosie's temple.
"Relax," Mike said calmly, "I need to check your mental state."
Rosie closed her eyes, and a cool feeling flowed into her mind, like a clear spring, slowly flowing through every corner of her consciousness. It felt so comfortable that she almost wanted to fall asleep again.
Suddenly, a sharp pain pierced her brain.
"Ah!" Rosie suddenly opened her eyes and her body arched uncontrollably.
Mike quickly withdrew his hand, beads of sweat oozing from his forehead.
"What's going on?" Kyle pulled Mike away and hugged Rosie's trembling body.
Mike was silent for a moment, his eyes flickering: "Marshal Kyle, Xixi's mental fluctuations are unusually active, and it seems to be resonating with some kind of power."
"What power?" Kyle's voice was cold.
"It's not clear yet," Mike lowered his head, avoiding Kyle's sharp gaze, "but it's not hostile. It may be related to her special physique."
Rosie leaned in Kyle's arms, her headache gradually subsiding. She thought of the silver-haired man, his gentle smile, the way he'd picked fish bones for her... Wait, these were clearly scenes from a dream, why did she remember them so clearly?
"Do you want me to try again?" Mike asked.
"No need." Kyle refused decisively. He had already explored it many times in the past few days. The result would not change if he explored it again. It would just be a waste of time.
Kyle turned to Rosie, his amber eyes filled with worry. "Sissi, your sleep is becoming increasingly irregular. Every time you wake up you're more tired than before, but your energy is increasing."
Luo Xi rubbed her temples and asked doubtfully, "Could it be the influence of the Saint rank promotion?"
"Unlikely," Kyle shook his head. "After being promoted to Saint Rank, the energy should increase steadily, not fluctuate like this."
Just as the two were talking, the door was suddenly pushed open and Lu Ye rushed in.
"Xixi is awake?" He walked straight to the bedside, his peach blossom eyes scanning the surrounding area warily. "How are you feeling?"
Luo Xi forced a smile: "It's okay, just a headache."
Lu Ye frowned and reached out to touch her forehead.
"Can you two please stop doing this?" Luo Xi said helplessly, "I'm really fine."
Lu Ye curled his lips and took a step back: "I'm just worried. This place is very weird. You slept for a whole day and you still say you're fine?"
Luo Xi suddenly thought of something and turned to Kyle: "I want to take another look at that abyss mural."
Kyle frowned, his eyes fixed on Rosie. The mural was too strange, and he didn't want Rosie to take any risks, especially since she was so weak.
"I'll go take a look first." Kyle said in a low voice, with a hint of determination flashing in his amber eyes.
Rosie straightened up and slid off the bed. She stood in front of Kyle and looked up into his eyes. This man always gave her the most solid support, as if no matter what problem she encountered, as long as she handed it to him, it would be perfectly solved.
"I'm also a Saint, Kyle." She reached out and grasped his wrist, her fingertips slightly cool. "I want to face this with you."
Kyle frowned, almost instinctively wanting to refuse. He didn't want her to be in any danger. But when he saw the determination in Rosie's eyes, his words caught in his throat.
Lu Ye walked up to Luo Xi, his shoulder almost touching hers, "I think Luo Xi is right, the mural may be related to her condition."
Mike stood aside, a complex look flashing in his blue eyes. "The energy fluctuations in Sissi's body are similar to the patterns on the mural."
"I don't need you to remind me." Kyle said coldly, but his hand unconsciously tightened around Rosie's.
Rosie felt the warmth of his palm and couldn't help but chuckle, "Don't worry, I'll be fine."
Kyle took a deep breath and released his hand. "You can go, but you must follow behind me and obey my instructions."
Rosie nodded without arguing. She knew Kyle's assertiveness was just another way of expressing his concern.
Lu Ye curled his lips and said, "I want to go too. If anything goes wrong, one more person means more strength."
Kyle's eyes darkened and he refused directly: "Too many people are useless."
There was a flash of unwillingness in Lu Ye's eyes, and his fingers clenched subconsciously.
Kyle glanced at him and said calmly, "We'll talk about it when your strength reaches the Saint level."
These words hit Lu Ye's soft spot. He was the weakest among them and the last to become Luo Xi's partner. He was still only at the Ninth Rank, and the Saint Rank was still a long way off.
Lu Ye gritted his teeth, a glint of fire flashing across his peach-shaped eyes, but he didn't argue. He knew what Kyle said was true—in this dangerous Abyss Royal City, with his current strength, he really couldn't help much, and might even be a hindrance.
"We'll wait for you to come back." Mike spoke at the right time, his voice calm, resolving the awkwardness.
Luo Xi knew that Kyle's words hurt Lu Ye, but she couldn't take sides in this matter and could only let him digest it himself.
Lu Ye exhaled, his tense muscles relaxing. He forced a smile at Luo Xi, but the disappointment in his eyes could not be hidden.
Kyle turned and walked out without saying anything else. Rosie quickly followed him, and the two walked through the corridor side by side.
As the two turned the corner of the corridor, dark energy suddenly surged from Kyle's body, enveloping them like a tide. The energy wasn't simply black, but so deep that it seemed to devour all light, even the air trembling and retreating before it.
Rosie felt the power gently envelop her, yet it was indestructible. Kyle didn't even raise his hand, but with a flicker of his eyes, the darkness effortlessly concealed their presence.
She couldn't help but glance sideways at the man beside her. Even at this moment, he remained calm and composed, as if everything was under control.
When they arrived at the forbidden area, the guards glanced over them without noticing anything.
Kyle's gaze lingered on her face for a moment, and he finally sighed softly, "Follow me closely. Tell me immediately if anything goes wrong."
Rosie smiled, "I will."
They walked through the winding corridors and arrived at the hall where the abyss murals were located. The murals still stood there quietly, with blue light flowing on them, outlining mysterious patterns.
Rosie approached cautiously, her eyes drawn to a pattern on the scroll. It was the silhouette of a silver-haired man, his features surprisingly familiar.
"Who is that?" she asked subconsciously, reaching out to touch.
Kyle was quick to grab her and said, "Don't touch me. That's how you lost your mind last time. There's something strange about this mural. We should be careful."
It's hard for this taciturn man to say so many words at once.
Rosie nodded and withdrew her hand, but her eyes were still involuntarily drawn to the silver-haired man.
She always felt that she had seen this person somewhere...
"Do you know the people above?" Kyle keenly noticed her abnormality.
Luo Xi shook her head: "I don't know him, but he looks familiar."
She took a few more steps forward, and the patterns on the mural suddenly lit up with a stronger blue light, as if responding to her approach. Rosie's heartbeat quickened, and a strange sense of resonance rose from the depths of her heart.
"Kyle, this mural is... responding to me."
