Reborn to dominate the gaming world, Bai Yueguang begs for reunion
Chapter 7 Noble Player
Lin Haiyang took a deep breath, trying to calm his heartbeat, but the light in his eyes grew even more resolute. "Watch me take him down!" he whispered to himself, his tone filled with both challenge and excitement. For a game master like him, nothing could be more thrilling than facing a powerful boss he'd never seen before.
However, as he carefully examined the data behemoth before him, his anticipation was tinged with disappointment. "Huh? Why doesn't this thing have a health bar?" he muttered to himself, his brow furrowed. Without a health bar, he couldn't intuitively judge the monster's health, nor could he predict the difficulty and duration of the battle. Was this truly an unavoidable "plot kill"?
"Health bar? This monster is the result of a data runaway!" Tong Yaoran explained, his voice tinged with nervousness. He quickly shielded Lin Haiyang behind him, as if shielding him from any impending danger. "This phenomenon is extremely rare, usually only occurring when there are serious anomalies in the game world's data."
"So this is what Data Rampage looks like!" Lin Haiyang's disappointment was instantly replaced by ecstasy. He stared wide-eyed, carefully observing every detail of the behemoth, his heart filled with curiosity and desire for the unknown. As a game expert, he knew how rare such an opportunity was. Being able to see and challenge such a boss in person was undoubtedly a huge test of his strength.
"Okay, then let me take him in!" Lin Haiyang clenched his fists, his eyes gleaming with determination. He was ready to go all out, and persevere to the end even in the face of great difficulties.
However, Tong Yaoran's words were like a bucket of cold water poured over his head. "Ignorance!" he said coldly, "If a player is affected by the data outburst, their life will disappear in digital form, and they will never be revived. You will die!"
Lin Haiyang was stunned upon hearing this, his expression suddenly changing. He realized then that the behemoth before him wasn't just a game boss; it harboured a terrifying power capable of threatening the lives of other players. He looked at the students, engulfed in flames and unable to resurrect, and a surge of fear and unease welled up within him.
"Holy crap, is this thing really that dangerous?" He couldn't help but curse, his voice trembling. He had never imagined that one day he would face a life-or-death test in a game.
"That's right, this is the terrifying thing about data runaway." Tong Yaoran said in a deep voice, "We must deal with it carefully and not be careless."
Lin Haiyang nodded, trying to calm himself. He knew the most important thing now was to stay awake and alert, not letting fear and panic take over. He looked at Tong Yaoran, who was already ready for battle. Dressed in a white coat and holding a massive black battle axe, he looked like a warrior about to charge into battle.
"Stay away!" Tong Yaoran said to Lin Haiyang, "Leave this to me."
Lin Haiyang didn't hesitate, immediately following Tong Yaoran's instructions and stepping aside. He knew his current abilities weren't enough to contend with such a behemoth, and remaining on the battlefield would only be a burden. He had to stay safe and wait for the right moment to intervene.
At this moment, the data giant seemed to have discovered the two people under its feet. Its eyelids, which were made of twitching numbers, moved slightly, and then it let out a deafening roar: "Roar, roar, roar!" The voice was full of anger and murderous intent, as if it wanted to swallow up the entire world.
Upon seeing this, Tong Yaoran immediately swung his massive black battle axe and charged at the beast. His movements were swift and powerful, like a cheetah chasing its prey. However, the beast showed no fear. It opened its maw and spewed a stream of blue flames to meet Tong Yaoran's attack.
"Teacher, be careful!" Lin Haiyang shouted. He nervously watched every change on the battlefield, fearing that Tong Yaoran would be hurt.
However, Tong Yaoran seemed prepared. He fixed his eyes on the path of the blue flames, his hands gripping the battle axe high. Just as the flames were about to strike him, he swung the axe fiercely, splitting the flames in two. The two streams of flames, like forked torrents, flew around his body and continued forward, eventually dissipating into the air.
"Bloody Battle Axe!" Tong Yaoran shouted, and the battle axe suddenly emitted a dazzling red light. He swung the battle axe again and chopped at the beast. Wherever the axe blade passed, the air was torn apart, leaving behind black cracks.
The beast roared and swung its huge claws at Tong Yaoran, but Tong Yaoran dodged the attack nimbly as if he could predict its movements. He took the opportunity to get close to the beast's body and used the sharp edge of his battle axe to leave deep scars on the beast's scales.
Lin Haiyang watched on, stunned. He had never witnessed such a fierce battle, nor had he seen such a powerful opponent or warrior. He knew that his current abilities were far from comparable to Tong Yaoran's, but he secretly resolved to study hard and improve his own strength, striving to become as powerful as Tong Yaoran one day.
"No, this weapon is too weak." Lin Haiyang muttered to himself as he looked at the mortar in his hand. He realized that his weapon was so powerless against such a behemoth that it could not cause any effective damage to it.
"Upgrade and transformation...wait." He hesitated for a moment, a conflicting feeling welling up in his heart. He knew that if he continued to use the cheat, the teacher would probably find out and the consequence of cheating would be expulsion from school.

Lin Haiyang steadied himself, a flicker of surprise and anger in his eyes. He looked at the slowly closing shield and the arrogant Young Master Li within it, feeling a mixture of emotions.
"Lin Haiyang, you are here as expected." A sneer appeared on Master Li's lips, as if he had expected him to appear here. "Why? You want to come in and seek refuge too? Unfortunately, people like you are not worthy."
Lin Haiyang clenched his fists, trying to control his inner impulse. He knew that in this world made up of data and code, violence couldn't solve all problems, especially when facing a krypton gold player like Mr. Li.
"Mr. Li, why are you so aggressive?" Lin Haiyang said in a deep voice, "We are students from the same school. We should help each other and face difficulties together."
"Haha, help?" Young Master Li seemed to have heard a huge joke. "You are worthy of asking for help? You are just an orphan without parents. What value can you have? In this world, strength is everything, and I possess strength and resources that you can't even imagine."
"Strength?" Lin Haiyang sneered. "Do you think you can gain true strength by spending money? True strength comes from unremitting efforts and firm belief. Although you have powerful equipment and protective shields, your heart is filled with arrogance and prejudice."
"Hmph, you're just jealous." Young Master Li curled his lips in disdain. "You're jealous that I have everything you don't. Let me tell you, Lin Haiyang, this world is cruel. The strong prey on the weak, and only the fittest survive. If you don't want to accept this reality, get out of this world."
Lin Haiyang took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. He knew that arguing with Master Li was pointless and would only make him more angry and frustrated. He looked at the students who had been excluded by Master Li. They were terrified, helpless, and angry, but it was all in vain.
"Mr. Li, if you do this, it will only make more people resent you," Lin Haiyang said in a deep voice. "You may be able to dominate this world with money and power, but one day, you will pay the price for your actions."
"Price?" Young Master Li seemed to have heard a joke. "In this world, I am the master. Anyone who dares to resist me will be wiped out forever. You are no exception, Lin Haiyang."
As he spoke, Master Li waved his hand, signaling the followers behind him to step forward. The followers immediately showed ferocious expressions and drew their weapons, ready to attack Lin Haiyang.
"Stop!" At this moment, a commanding voice suddenly rang out. Everyone looked in the direction of the voice and saw Tong Yaoran had arrived before them without them noticing. He held a massive black battle axe in his hand, his gaze blazing like an inviolable god of war.
"Teacher Tong!" Lin Haiyang was delighted, as if he had seen a savior.
"Mr. Li, you've gone too far," Tong Yaoran said in a deep voice. "We came to this world to carry out missions and improve our strength, not to fight for power or bully the weak."
"Teacher Tong?" Young Master Li's face changed slightly, obviously surprised and uneasy by Tong Yaoran's appearance. "You...why are you here?"
"Of course I have my mission," Tong Yaoran said calmly, "Also, as a teacher at this school, I have the responsibility to protect my students from being bullied by anyone."
"Humph, protection?" Young Master Li sneered, "Who do you think you are? Just a small esports player. Do you think you can stop me?"
"Just try it and you'll know." Tong Yaoran said as he flashed before Master Li. He swung the battle axe in his hand with an unstoppable momentum, heading straight for Master Li's face.
Young Master Li was horrified and quickly took a few steps back, waving his hands to signal his followers to step forward and resist. However, those followers were no match for Tong Yaoran. Wherever the battle axe passed, they were knocked back and fell to the ground in agony.
"You...you dare..." Master Li's face turned pale, obviously shocked by Tong Yaoran's strength.
"Mr. Li, I have a word of advice for you." Tong Yaoran put away his battle axe and looked at him with a sharp gaze. "In this world, strength and money are not everything. What's more important is character and conscience. If you continue like this, you will eventually bring about your own destruction."
After saying this, Tong Yaoran turned to look at Lin Haiyang and the other students, his eyes filled with encouragement and expectation. "Don't be afraid, everyone. As long as we unite as one, nothing can stop us."
Lin Haiyang and the other students nodded in agreement. They felt Tong Yaoran's strength and warmth, and their hope and fighting spirit were rekindled.
In the following days, Lin Haiyang and Tong Yaoran led the students in a fierce battle with the data behemoth. Although the process was full of hardships and dangers, they relied on their firm belief and unremitting efforts to finally defeat the behemoth.
After the battle, Lin Haiyang looked at the students who had been bullied by Master Li, their eyes gleaming with gratitude and admiration. He knew that this battle not only gave them valuable experience and rewards, but also taught them unity and courage.
In this battle, Master Li completely lost his former arrogance and pride. He looked at Lin Haiyang and Tong Yaoran.
