The weak prince's queen
Chapter 86 Taking Care of Xiao Yichen
"Princess, the medicine is here." Mo Feng walked in holding a bowl of steaming medicine.
"Okay, give it to me." After Chu Xiyue took the medicine, she touched the wall of the bowl with her hand and felt it was a little hot, so she picked up a spoon and stirred it. Then she scooped out a spoonful and blew it to her mouth. After she felt the temperature was right, she brought it to Xiao Yichen's mouth.
Perhaps the physical cooling before played a certain role. Xiao Yichen opened his eyes in a daze, but his vision was very blurry and he could not see who was in front of him. His lips moved slightly, wanting to say something, but found that he could not make a sound.
"Okay, Prince, you have a fever now. You need to rest well and talk as little as possible. Come, open your mouth and drink this medicine." Chu Xiyue said softly, her tone full of care and tenderness.
Hearing Chu Xiyue's words, Xiao Yichen opened his mouth slightly.
Seeing this, Chu Xiyue hurriedly and carefully placed the medicine in the spoon into his mouth. Her movements were gentle, and she was extremely careful with each spoonful, fearing to hurt him. In this way, she slowly fed him spoonful by spoonful until the entire bowl of medicine was completely consumed.
Chu Xiyue put the empty bowl aside and continued to replace the cold wet towel on Xiao Yichen's forehead with a handkerchief.
Perhaps because the drug had taken effect, Xiao Yichen felt noticeably more relaxed. His brows were no longer furrowed, and his breathing became steady. After a while, he fell into a deep sleep again.
Chu Xiyue reached out and gently stroked Xiao Yichen's forehead, feeling his body temperature gradually returning to normal. The stone in her heart finally fell, and her tense nerves were slightly relieved.
"The temperature has finally dropped..." Chu Xiyue murmured to herself with relief.
The long period of tension and worry made her exhausted. At this moment, she was like a deflated ball, slumped weakly in a chair beside her.
"Yes, Princess, why don't you go and have a rest first. I will take care of you here." Dong'er suggested with concern.
"It's okay, I'm not tired." Chu Xiyue smiled and shook her head, indicating that she could still hold on.
"Princess, you have been busy all night. You should go and rest. What if you get tired?" Dong'er couldn't help but persuade her again.
"Really, there's no need. You've all worked hard. Go and rest quickly." Chu Xiyue responded gently.
"But..." Dong'er started hesitantly, but swallowed the words back.
"Stop complaining! Go and rest quickly. You also need to rest well so that you can take better care of the prince." Chu Xiyue interrupted her firmly.
"Okay, then I'll leave now." Dong'er nodded helplessly and turned to leave.
"Wait, Dong'er, there's something else I want to ask you." Chu Xiyue suddenly called Dong'er.
"Please speak, Princess." Dong'er stopped and turned around to ask.
"Please help me open the window outside to get some fresh air, and bring me some pastries on the table." Chu Xiyue ordered.
"Okay, Princess, please wait a moment." Dong'er responded, quickly opened the window, and brought pastries and placed them in front of Chu Xiyue.
"Thank you." Chu Xiyue picked up a piece of cake and put it in her mouth and started chewing.
"Princess, let's go out then." Mo Feng said softly.
"Well, go ahead." Chu Xiyue waved her hand to signal them to leave.
After the two left, Chu Xiyue stared quietly at Xiao Yichen lying on the bed, her heart filled with self-blame and guilt: "It's all my fault. If I hadn't held his hand all last night, he wouldn't have caught a cold. I hope he wakes up soon."
A breeze blew in from outside the window, ruffling Chu Xiyue's hair. Her eyes were always fixed on Xiao Yichen, as if she was waiting for something.
"Dong'er, does this situation look familiar to you?" Mo Feng said softly, his lips slightly raised.
"Yes! Last night it was the prince who took care of the princess, and tonight it was the princess who was guarding the prince. I really hope that the prince and princess will always be so loving." Dong'er kept talking excitedly.
"Yeah, I really hope they can open their hearts and be nice to each other." Mo Feng's eyes revealed a hint of expectation, and he said thoughtfully.
"Okay, let's not disturb the prince and princess." Mo Feng patted Dong'er's shoulder gently, signaling her to leave.
Chu Xiyue heard everything they were saying outside the door. She couldn't help but smile, feeling warm inside.
"It seems that you are not so indifferent. It seems that we must have a good talk when you wake up this time." Chu Xiyue sat beside the bed, quietly looking at Xiao Yichen who was sleeping peacefully on the bed, with a determined light flashing in her eyes.
Time passed by, but Chu Xiyue didn't feel sleepy at all. Sometimes she gently stroked Xiao Yichen's cheek, feeling his warmth; sometimes she gently held his hand, expressing her care.
After sitting for a long time, Chu Xiyue would occasionally touch Xiao Yichen's forehead, fearing that he might have a fever again. Her fingers gently touched his skin, feeling his warmth, and every touch made her heart tremble slightly. When she was sure that he had no fever again, Chu Xiyue finally breathed a sigh of relief, but the worry in her heart was not completely dispelled.
"You must get better soon," Chu Xiyue whispered softly, her voice almost inaudible. Her gaze fell gently on Xiao Yichen's face, as if she could see his healthy appearance through his closed eyes. Her tone was filled with concern and worry, as if Xiao Yichen's condition was closely related to her.
It was already late at night, the moonlight streaming through the room like water, making everything seem exceptionally peaceful. Chu Xiyue leaned against the headboard, her thoughts flooding her mind like a tide. She recalled the experiences she had had since entering this world: the pain, struggle, and confusion, as well as Xiao Yichen's indifference and hurt towards her. However, looking at the quiet Xiao Yichen before her, the resentment in her heart gradually dissipated, replaced by a complex and subtle emotion.
"Maybe we can start over..." Chu Xiyue whispered to herself, a glimmer of longing in her eyes. She didn't know what the future would hold, but she hoped to change their relationship, to stop hurting each other. She was willing to try to understand him, to discover his true inner thoughts.
Chu Xiyue sat on the edge of the bed, her eyelids growing heavy and sleepiness creeping in. Her body involuntarily leaned forward, eventually falling flat on the edge of the bed. She blinked at Xiao Yichen, trying to stay awake, but the overwhelming sleepiness overwhelmed her. Gradually, her eyes closed, and she drifted off to sleep.
