The weak prince's queen
Chapter 79 Something is wrong with Xiao Yichen
Chu Xiyue had begun dressing up early in the morning. Today, she had chosen a simple and light outfit, paired with her long, vertical hair, which made her look very fresh and natural. She had also chosen a light blue dress, which complemented her fair skin and added a touch of graceful beauty.
Chu Xiyue took Dong'er to Xiao Yichen's room. Along the way, she was anxious, hoping to see Xiao Yichen and talk to him. However, when they arrived at the door, they were stopped by Mo Feng.
"Princess, please stay. The prince is resting." Mo Feng said seriously.
Chu Xiyue's heart tightened, and she couldn't help but feel disappointed: "What a coincidence! Is the prince okay?"
"The imperial physician has already come to see the prince and said that he is not seriously injured and just needs more rest." Mo Feng replied.
Hearing this, Chu Xiyue breathed a sigh of relief, but still felt a little worried. She sighed softly and said helplessly, "Well, in that case, I won't disturb your rest, Your Majesty."
After saying that, Chu Xiyue glanced at the door reluctantly, as if wanting to see the scene inside through the door. But she finally gave up the idea, turned around and left, leaving behind a lonely back.
At this moment, Xiao Yichen hid behind a window in the room, secretly observing the situation outside. He saw Chu Xiyue leaving, and a complex emotion surged in his heart. He didn't know how to face her, so he chose to escape. He knew that this action might make Chu Xiyue sad, but at this moment he couldn't face her gaze and questions.
Xiao Yichen stood there quietly, looking out the window, his mind racing. He didn't know what the future would hold, but he hoped time would slowly resolve these issues.
"Your Highness, the princess has come to look for you several times. If I continue to stop her, it may not be appropriate! Besides, I really can't bear it." Mo Feng looked at Xiao Yichen in front of him with a look of embarrassment on his face.
Xiao Yichen looked into the distance with a deep gaze. He slowly said, "We are lucky to be alive. We need to be extremely careful with everything."
Hearing this, Mo Feng's mind involuntarily recounted the countless life-or-death struggles he and Xiao Yichen had endured together. Each one was thrilling, and a single misstep could have cost them their lives. And the fact that they were still alive today was entirely due to Xiao Yichen's extraordinary wisdom and courage. Thinking of this, Mo Feng couldn't help but sigh, "Yes, this journey has been truly difficult."
"Well... I know what to do." Mo Feng nodded, then turned and left. Xiao Yichen was left standing there silently, feeling sad.
Xiao Yichen stood there quietly, motionless, as if time had frozen at this moment. His eyes were filled with endless sadness and loneliness, which made people feel pity.
After Chu Xiyue returned to her room, she sat at the table with an unhappy look on her face, her chin resting on her hands, lost in thought. Her eyes looked a little dull, as if she was pondering something important.
"Princess, what would you like to eat? I can get it for you." Dong'er, who was standing by, noticed Chu Xiyue's low mood and remembered that she once said that delicious food could heal everything, so she asked softly.
However, Chu Xiyue shook her head and replied in a low voice, "No, I don't have much of an appetite right now." Her eyes were dull, as if she had lost all her energy and enthusiasm. Her tone was filled with helplessness, as if she had no interest in anything.
"Dong'er, what's wrong with Xiao Yichen? Why do I feel like something is wrong with him? He is avoiding me. Did I do something wrong?" Chu Xiyue raised her head, her eyes full of confusion and loss, and she seemed a little at a loss.
Dong'er looked at Chu Xiyue with heartache, but she still comforted her: "Mo Feng said that the prince is in poor health, so he is resting. Princess, don't think too much."
Chu Xiyue sighed softly and said slowly: "Is it really just that? But why do I always feel that something is wrong? Am I too sensitive?" She couldn't help but fall into deep thought, recalling every little detail between her and Xiao Yichen recently, and her heart became increasingly uneasy.
"Maybe I'm overthinking it. I originally wanted him to get out of the shadow of the past, but now it seems that the distance between us seems to be getting farther and farther." Chu Xiyue murmured to herself, her heart full of bitterness.
Dong'er quickly held Chu Xiyue's hand and comforted her, "Princess, don't think so! Maybe the prince is too tired these days. Once he rests well, everything will be fine."
Chu Xiyue nodded and forced a smile: "Well, I hope I am overthinking it."
"Then let's go find the prince another day." Dong'er suggested.
After a moment of silence, Chu Xiyue nodded and agreed, "Well... okay, then let's not disturb him for now." There was a hint of determination in her eyes, and she decided to give each other some time and space to readjust.
