The weak prince's queen
Chapter 76 The Queen's Enlistment
"Prince Jin and the Crown Prince, please follow me." the Emperor ordered.
"Farewell to the Emperor..." Everyone bowed.
Mo Feng was just about to follow Xiao Yichen and help push the wheelchair, but Xiao Yichen suddenly said, "You stay with the princess, come and help me push it." He casually pointed to a eunuch to help.
"Yes, Your Highness." Mo Feng replied.
Not long after Xiao Yichen left, the Queen looked at Chu Xiyue who was sitting beside her, and said with a smile on her face, "Then Princess Jin, please accompany me to stroll around the Imperial Garden."
Chu Xiyue was stunned for a moment, then she remembered that she was the Princess of Jin, so she quickly replied, "Yes, Your Majesty."
"You don't have to go. The imperial garden is full of female relatives." The queen said to Mo Feng with a smile.
Mo Feng was slightly stunned, but then replied respectfully: "Yes, Your Majesty." His gaze fell on Chu Xiyue, and a complex emotion flashed in his eyes.
When Chu Xiyue saw the Empress stand up, she quickly stood up too, her movements unnatural, as if her entire body was frozen. She was sweating inwardly, constantly telling herself to stay calm, to treat this as a play, and she was the skilled actress. With this thought, she smiled brightly and followed closely behind the Empress.
Chu Xiyue cautiously followed the Empress, her heart filled with nervousness and curiosity. This was her first time being so close to a figure from the ancient palace, and the Empress herself! She couldn't help but secretly congratulate herself on the acting experience she had accumulated in modern times, hoping to handle such an occasion with ease. As she walked, she secretly observed her surroundings and the reactions of the other palace maids, trying to immerse herself in the atmosphere of this ancient palace.
Along the way, the Empress occasionally chatted with Chu Xiyue, asking about her life and her feelings about the palace. Chu Xiyue tried her best to remain calm and polite, answering appropriately and properly. However, in her heart, she was constantly thinking about how to deal with what might happen next.
When they arrived at the Imperial Garden, Chu Xiyue was captivated by the beauty before her. The colorful flowers competed for beauty, the green trees formed a shady scene, and the pavilions and towers were arranged in an orderly manner. It was a breathtaking sight. She couldn't help but exclaim, "It's so beautiful!"
The Queen smiled and said, "Yes, this is one of my favorite places."
Chu Xiyue took the opportunity to admire the surrounding scenery while also observing the Empress's expression and reaction. She noticed that although the Empress was smiling, her eyes seemed to reveal a hint of deep meaning. Could the Empress have some ulterior motive? Chu Xiyue speculated in her heart, but on the surface she remained calm and respectful.
Suddenly, the Queen stopped, turned around, and looked at Chu Xiyue sharply. Her eyes revealed a seriousness and majesty that made Chu Xiyue's heart tighten.
The Queen slowly spoke, "Princess Jin, I know very well that you did not marry into the palace of your own free will, but now that you have become the Princess of Jin, you must shoulder the corresponding responsibilities."
Chu Xiyue quickly lowered her head and respectfully expressed her willingness to follow the Queen's instructions.
The Empress continued, "I hope you can quickly adapt to life in the palace, strictly abide by the rules, and do not cause any trouble to Prince Jin. Especially since Prince Jin is in poor health, please report any unusual conditions to me at any time."
Chu Xiyue secretly pondered the deeper meaning of the Queen's words, but decided to agree for the time being.
So, she smiled and responded, "Yes, my lady, I will certainly act with caution."
The Empress nodded slightly, seeming satisfied with Chu Xiyue's attitude. She then added, "Minister Lin has always been very supportive of me."
Chu Xiyue couldn't help but wonder, did the Empress' words mean that Minister Lin agreed with her? Or was it hinting at some deeper meaning?
"Yes, it shows that father's move was wise." Chu Xiyue agreed.
"Haha... Princess, you're a smart person. I fell in love with you the moment I saw you." The Queen was ecstatic. She had been looking for an opportunity to get closer to Chu Xiyue, and now she had finally found it. She believed that as long as she could get Chu Xiyue's support, she would be able to better control Xiao Yichen.
"Thank you, Queen, for your kindness," Chu Xiyue said. She knew in her heart that the Queen was only doing this to use her, but she also knew that she couldn't offend the Queen just yet. Only by stabilizing the situation could she find an opportunity to strike back.
