The weak prince's queen
Chapter 19 Preparing to Escape
Night fell, all the lights went out, and the world became pitch black. Chu Xiyue stood quietly in her room, staring through the small hole she had carefully cut in the window, gazing at the darkness outside. As time passed, she remained in this position, as if waiting for something important to happen.
In this way, she persisted until dawn, and finally she could not resist the invasion of sleepiness, slowly closed her eyes, and fell asleep.
The morning sun shone across the earth, illuminating everything. However, Chu Xiyue was still immersed in a sweet dream, showing no sign of waking up. Dong'er waited anxiously outside the door. According to her usual habits, Chu Xiyue should have woken up by now, but today there was no sign of her waking up.
Dong'er waited outside the door for a long time, feeling increasingly uneasy. Finally, she couldn't help but push the door open and walked into the room. She called softly, "Miss, are you okay?"
Chu Xiyue was awakened by the sound, her eyes suddenly opened, and she looked at Dong'er in a daze. After a while, she finally woke up, rubbed her sleepy eyes, and muttered to herself: "Uh... I'm fine, what time is it now?"
Dong'er walked to the bedside and said with concern, "It's almost noon, Miss."
Chu Xiyue opened her mouth in surprise and said in disbelief, "It's already so late. It seems like I haven't stayed up late in a long time. I was really exhausted last night."
Dong'er nodded gently and said, "Yes, Miss. Dong'er will prepare lunch for you."
Chu Xiyue smiled and nodded, saying, "Okay, okay, go ahead. I'll get up and wash up too." After that, she lifted the quilt, got out of bed, and began to tidy herself up.
After lunch, Chu Xiyue called Dong'er over and said softly, "Dong'er, go and rest first. Come to my room tonight."
Dong'er was puzzled and asked, "Miss, what are your plans?"
Chu Xiyue smiled slightly and replied mysteriously, "Anyway, get some rest first and get enough energy. We need to take action tonight."
Dong'er nodded as if she understood, and replied, "Yes, Miss." Then she turned and left, and went to rest according to Chu Xiyue's instructions.
Chu Xiyue sat for a while and then fell asleep again.
Night gradually fell, and the whole world was shrouded in darkness. After Dong'er served Chu Xiyue dinner, she quietly slipped into the kitchen and took a few buns as dry food.
Back in the room, Dong'er placed all the items neatly on the table and said to Chu Xiyue, "Miss, this is the silver, this is the dry food, and the clothes for the servants that I prepared yesterday."
Chu Xiyue quickly stood up, walked quickly to the door, gently closed it, and lowered her voice to warn: "Shh! Dong'er, keep your voice down. We are going to leave the house secretly, so we must keep a low profile."
"Okay, miss." Dong'er replied in a low voice.
"Okay, Dong'er, come here and change into these clothes." Chu Xiyue handed the servant's clothes to Dong'er.
Dong'er was a little embarrassed and walked over to take the servant's uniform and put it on slowly. She was petite, but the servant's uniform was very loose and looked ridiculous on her.
Chu Xiyue herself also wore a set of servant's clothes, which also looked too big, but she didn't seem to care about these details.
"Miss, look..." Dong'er said in a low voice.
"It's okay, I'm fine. Come here, I'll dress you up." Chu Xiyue comforted her, then she walked over to Dong'er and began to help her with her hair. She skillfully tied Dong'er's hair into a simple bun, making her look more like a little servant.
Afterwards, Chu Xiyue tied her hair into a bun and covered part of it with a servant's hat.
Chu Xiyue stood in front of the bronze mirror, carefully examining herself and Dong'er, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. Then, she pulled out the beard she had prepared long ago and carefully placed it on her face.
"Haha..." Chu Xiyue looked at the two people in the mirror and couldn't help laughing.
"Ah? Miss, this..." Dong'er looked at herself in the mirror, feeling both amused and helpless.
"This is called camouflage. This way, I won't be easily recognized when I go out!" Chu Xiyue explained proudly.
"Miss, are you sure this is really okay?" Dong'er asked with some doubt.
"Of course, believe me." Chu Xiyue answered confidently.
Afterwards, Chu Xiyue and Dong'er packed all the prepared things into the bag.
"Dong'er, are you ready?" Chu Xiyue observed the situation outside through the window and determined that now was the time when the servants' patrols were at their weakest.
"Okay, miss." Dong'er replied softly.
"That's good. Grab your things and follow me." After Chu Xiyue finished speaking, she tiptoed to open the door and quietly walked out, with Dong'er following closely behind.
