The weak prince's queen
Chapter 150 Entering the palace to express gratitude
Nanny Liu hurried over and respectfully reported to the Queen, "Your Majesty, the Princess of Jin is outside requesting an audience."
The queen, who had been resting with her eyes closed, suddenly opened them upon hearing this. A flash of surprise and curiosity flashed in her eyes as she asked, "Oh? Why is she here at this time? What's the matter? Is she bringing some good news again? Please invite her in!"
Matron Liu quickly bowed and replied, "Yes, Your Majesty, please wait a moment." After that, Matron Liu turned around and walked out of the palace quickly.
Soon, Nanny Liu arrived outside the palace and saw Chu Xiyue standing there, graceful and elegant, accompanied by her maid Dong'er. Nanny Liu stepped forward, bowed slightly to Chu Xiyue, and then said softly, "Princess Jin, the Queen wishes to see you. Please come in."
Chu Xiyue responded with a smile, "Thank you, Ma'am." Then she raised her foot and was about to walk inside.
However, just when Dong'er wanted to follow in, Nanny Liu reached out to stop her.
Seeing this, Chu Xiyue turned around and gave Dong'er a reassuring look, indicating that she didn't need to worry, and then walked into the palace alone.
As soon as she entered the palace, Chu Xiyue saw the Empress sitting on the phoenix chair. She hurried forward, stopping a few steps away from the Empress. She knelt respectfully and said, "Your Highness, I pay my respects to you. May you live a thousand years."
The Queen smiled and gently raised her hand, saying, "Excuse me, stand up and talk. I wonder what brings you to the palace this time?"
Chu Xiyue stood up and replied with her head bowed, "To answer your Majesty, Prince Jin specifically instructed me to come to the palace today to thank you for your help that day."
The Queen nodded slightly, and replied with a smile on her face, "This is just a trivial matter. But Princess, please do not forget the promise you made to me."
Chu Xiyue, standing nearby, bowed gracefully and said softly, "Actually, my main reason for coming to the palace this time is to resolve a doubt in my heart. To be honest, I've always wanted to find out what kind of information Your Majesty wants me to get from the Prince. If Your Majesty can be honest, I will do my utmost to accomplish this."
After hearing this, the Queen hesitated. She wondered whether she should tell the whole truth, but she couldn't decide for a moment.
Chu Xiyue, ever perceptive, keenly noticed the subtle change in the Queen's expression, and so she spoke again, "Your Majesty, do you have any concerns or unspeakable questions? Or perhaps you have doubts about my health?"
The Queen shook her head slightly and quickly explained, "That's not the case. As the saying goes, 'Don't employ a man you doubt, and trust a man you employ.' I naturally trust you. It's just that the time is not right yet, so I can't reveal too many details for now."
Chu Xiyue pondered inwardly that it seemed she wouldn't be able to get any useful information from the Empress today. She sighed slightly and then slowly said, "If that's the case, I understand. However, in this situation, what can I do to help Her Majesty?"
The Queen raised her head slightly, her gaze falling on Chu Xiyue. After thinking for a moment, she replied, "Oh... now that you mention it, there is indeed something that needs to be handed over to you for handling."
Chu Xiyue quickly responded, "Okay, I understand. Your Majesty, please let me know the details."
The queen winked at Madam Liu beside her. Madam Liu understood and nodded, then walked forward with several packets of Chinese medicine wrapped tightly in yellow paper in her hand.
Seeing this, Chu Xiyue quickly reached out to take the medicine handed to her by Nanny Liu, looked at the Queen in confusion, and asked, "Your Majesty, what are these?"
The Queen smiled slightly and explained, "This is a longevity elixir prepared for the prince. But remember not to reveal that it's a gift from me. Don't worry, this isn't poison."
After hearing the Queen's words, Chu Xiyue thought for a moment before responding, "I understand the underlying meaning. I will announce to the public that I purchased this medicine at the pharmacy myself, brewed it myself, and then presented it to His Majesty."
The queen smiled with satisfaction, nodded approvingly and said, "Very good, then go quickly."
Chu Xiyue bowed respectfully to the queen and said softly, "Then I will take my leave first." After that, she carefully held the precious Chinese medicines, turned around and left slowly.
