The three regiments together formed an artillery column. The former artillery battalion commander Yang Zihua served as the commander of the artillery column, the instructor Li Jie served as the political commissar, Huang Guangqi served as the chief of staff of the column, and the former company commanders served as regiment commanders, and were promoted in turn. Although they were promoted above their level this time, they had returned to their original level.
While adjusting the artillery organization, Zeng Jiwen complained that the Japanese army had been so stingy recently. After several battles, they had not captured a single rapid-fire gun. The Japanese army's Type 97 mortar, which we called the small cannon in the original time and space, had just been developed by the Japanese army and would not be equipped until this year. He didn't know whether he could capture it next time.
The 60mm small-caliber guns were too weak to serve as regimental firepower, so they had to be transferred to the battalion and company levels, and the regimental level still needed 82mm guns. However, for the safety of my family and the headquarters, I left all the 82mm guns there and set off with a small number of less common 60mm guns.
Originally, it was thought that the Japanese would capture some Shanxi-made 82mm mortars by encircling and suppressing the puppet troops. However, due to the battlefield situation, the Japanese army temporarily concentrated these 82mm mortars and placed them on the North China Plain. Some of the scattered 60mm mortars were shipped to Shanxi for use by various security forces and puppet troops. This is how Zeng Jiwen was able to capture so many 60mm mortars. (The large-scale production and deployment of 60mm mortars during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression began after 41; before that, the 82mm mortars were the only ones used.)
However, these can allow the troops currently in western Hebei to start ambushing nearby puppet troops and garrison troops to collect them, and sooner or later use the 82mm as regimental support firepower.
At the same time, six main regiments, namely 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, and 89, were formed, and then the military chiefs of each regiment were determined, and finally the following list was obtained.
The 84th Regiment was headed by Liu Gancheng, with Wu Qingpei as its political commissar and Huang Zirong as its chief of staff.
The 85th Regiment was headed by Xun Bai, with Xie Wenxing as the political commissar and Du Zhongmei as the chief of staff.
The 86th Regiment was headed by Luo Hui, with Lin Longfa as political commissar and Chen Hong as chief of staff;
The 87th Regiment was headed by Zheng Lun, with Wu Huanxian as its political commissar and Wang Yiming as its chief of staff.
The 88th Regiment's commander was Xia Wenkai, its political commissar was Chen Haisong, and its chief of staff was Wang Bingnan;
The commander of the 89th Regiment is Sun Yuqing, the political commissar is Xie Weijun, and the chief of staff is Bai Zhiwen.
At the same time, the 84th Regiment advanced towards Yushe Wuxiang, the 85th Regiment moved towards Liaoxian, the 86th Regiment moved towards Xiangheng, the 87th Regiment moved towards Neiqiu, the 88th Regiment moved towards Wuan, and the 89th Regiment moved towards Licheng, to gradually expand the defense zones and bases around them.
At the same time, the engineering battalion was expanded into a regiment, numbered 190th Regiment, and one battalion was sent from each of the three main directions to develop engineering forces in each defense zone.
The reconnaissance battalion was expanded into a special operations battalion, with a special regimental-level organization of squadron-battalion, and 12 people as the most basic combat unit. A squadron contained three such squadrons and a 72-person logistics reserve force, still requiring a three-three system. There were three battalions in total, and Zeng Jiwen could not afford to support any more. In this way, the original reconnaissance battalion's special operations force of 108 people began to expand to 324 people, and with the corresponding logistics support personnel, the entire battalion had more than 900 people.
It was given the 191st Regiment, announced to the outside world as a logistics warehouse protection force, and new soldiers were selected from the entire 389th Brigade.
The original baggage battalion was transferred to the logistics department, which was responsible for the logistics and transportation management of the entire brigade.
As for the remaining half of the rifles, they began to be distributed to various local regiments to start training local militia.
At the same time, it was discussed that the main regiments and local forces would be adjusted to the level of column-affiliated regiments, and this could be put on the agenda after the Japanese raids were repelled this summer.
After everyone discussed and confirmed that there were no other problems, they sent the summary report to their families and the headquarters.
Eighth Route Army Headquarters.
