Depressed wife runs with the ball

Chapter 21 Drive Carefully

Zhou Xingzhi watched her holding the bag of breakfast, chewing it slowly, thinking about something in her mind.

Back at the office, Chu Yue looked at Ji Yan's outfit: a dark denim jacket, skinny jeans, and a white T-shirt. It was a bit retro, with simple colors that weren't dull. She asked him thoughtfully, "Are you guys all very casual in your clothing?"

Ji Yan looked down at what he was wearing today. Was there something wrong with it? Or was it just too casual? He was puzzled. What was so casual about it? He spent a lot of time on it every day, and yet, in front of this junior sister with extremely high aesthetic standards, he just looked casual?

"I'm not talking about you, I mean most people. What you wore today... is not bad." Chu Yue nodded, affirming his aesthetic taste.

"Since when did you start caring about a man's outfit? Are you in a relationship?"

"No, I just met someone who was dressed really ugly."

"If you have the leisure time, you might as well give Sister Ning some guidance on her outfit. But she seems to be getting a little better these days, going to Xinghui every few days. Women dress up to please themselves." Ji Yan said meaningfully.

Chu Yue glanced at him unhappily and explained, "That's for the convenience of taking care of the children. What do you know?"

After the afternoon meeting, I returned to the office to work on a Starlight project. I didn't hear from Zhou Xingzhi until 9 a.m. I muttered, "Did he find a stylist?"

There was no one in the office. The light from her office shone through the glass door onto the second floor. There was a faint light in the public area on the first floor. She walked out of the office, took a photo, and went back to sit in front of the easel and started sketching based on the photo.

When the phone rang, the tip of the pen trembled and broke. She sighed and answered the phone.

"Sorry, I'm busy now. I'm downstairs in your office."

"Hold on."

She gathered her things, turned off the lights, and locked the door. The Maybach was parked across the street.

Get in the car, fasten your seatbelt, and drive. Chu Yue felt something was strange, as if... where was the driver? It seemed like he had been driving himself these past few days.

"Have you eaten? I have some food here, bread, chocolate, and snacks." Zhou Xingzhi gestured for her to help herself.

"No, I've eaten. I don't have the habit of eating at this time." Chu Yue felt that apart from work, she should keep a distance from him.

The nightlife in the south seemed to have just begun, with traffic and people still walking on the streets. At this hour, I wonder what time it was over there with Chu Jinyue? Was he studying well? Would he learn bad habits from others?

When I got to his office, the clothes were indeed hung there. Suddenly, it felt a bit redundant. A stylist, to an outsider, seemed... even more obvious.

"What's the itinerary tomorrow?"

"Yeah, I'm in a meeting at the company with a bunch of directors." He sat down at his desk and typed on the computer. He must not have finished his work yet.

She looked at the row of clothes, picked out a gray shirt and a black jacket with peaked lapels, held them up with both hands, and said, "These two will do. I'll pick out a tie for you."

He closed his computer, walked to the clothes rack, picked up the two pieces of clothing, and went to the lounge to change. When he came out, Chu Yue had already chosen a tie and was sitting on the sofa. He looked different in his formal suit. The top two buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned, revealing a hint of skin on his chest.

She handed him the tie and asked him to put it on. Then she walked into the lounge, opened her jewelry box, and picked out the watches. Those watches didn't look like the taste of a nouveau riche. Could it be that someone had chosen them for him?

He leaned against the door of the cloakroom, looking at her with a smile, his tie just hanging around his neck, not tied.

Chu Yue picked out a black Richard Miller watch and two black cufflinks. Turning around, she saw him leaning over there, his tie and shirt buttons unbuttoned.

"Are you uncomfortable wearing this?" She was confused.

"No, I can't tie my tie properly." He spread his hands and stood up waiting for her to help him.

Chu Yue placed his watch and cufflinks on the counter and went over to help him sort them out. As she approached, she could smell the faint scent of alcohol on him. He must have been drinking since he went to a social event today. Her ears felt a little hot as she looked at the faintly exposed skin on his chest. She pursed her lips and said, "Uh...button up first."

He buttoned up his shirt with one hand, staring straight at the person in front of him, as if he was staring at his own prey. After buttoning up his shirt, he suddenly lowered his head and touched her forehead. Chu Yue was startled and took a step back, with a nervous look on her face.

"you......"

"I'm sorry, I just saw you standing on tiptoe when you tied your tie last time, and I was worried it would be hard for you." He stood up straight again and waited obediently.

"If I can't tie my tie properly, then I won't be able to tie it properly tomorrow either?" Chu Yue felt that it was useless to wear it tonight.

Seeing he couldn't deceive anyone, he took off his tie and said, "I'll put on this tomorrow morning and drive over to your place. You can just tie it for me."

"I think Secretary Jiang ties are pretty good, maybe he can help you. The watch and cufflinks have been chosen, so wear them like this tomorrow." Chu Yue completed the task and prepared to leave.

Zhou Xingzhi was upset that he had forgotten about Jiang Tao, who was in the way. "But you're my stylist, are you Designer Chu so unprofessional?"

he asked cheekily.

Uh, she doesn't seem to be a professional hairstylist. Never mind, I'm not going to do anything for her. "Then I'll do it tomorrow."

"I'll take you home. Wait for me to change my clothes." Zhou Xingzhi didn't force her and made way for her.

Yeah. Chu Yue looked at her watch. It would be almost 12 o'clock if she took the subway back. It would be faster if she took the bus.

The entire way, Zhou Xingzhi kept looking at her watch. It looked quite old, probably a gift. Ji Yan said she was raised by her grandparents, so was it a gift from them? It didn't match her outfit at all, and the dial had a lot of scratches and dings. She wore it all the time, so it must be very important to her, right?

Arriving at Cuiyuan, he watched her get off the car and said, "See you tomorrow morning."

Chu Yue nodded and said, "Drive carefully." He turned and walked into the community.

In Zhou Xingzhi's ears, these words became: Our relationship has taken a step forward. Layer upon layer of excitement stirred every cell in his body, and the corners of his mouth remained raised for a long time.

I arrived downstairs at her house at 7 a.m., hesitating whether to go upstairs to bring her breakfast, but I didn't dare disturb her because I was afraid she wouldn't wake up yet. It was a little after 7:40 when I saw her coming out of the residential complex. She was wearing an ink painting dress and a mustard green V-neck cotton and linen suit jacket, with a long belt tied under a single button.

Watch her walk in, open the car door, and hand her breakfast.

"Thank you." She took the breakfast and thought about tying her tie before leaving. Otherwise, his car would be parked in front of the office for too long, and she was afraid that a colleague would see it and misunderstand her.

"Tie your tie before you drive." She put down her breakfast and reached for his tie. He tilted his head, indicating that it was in the back seat. Chu Yue leaned over to get it, revealing her snow-white neck, the lines of her collarbone like a sculpture. Zhou Xingzhi coughed and stopped looking.

After getting the tie, Chu Yue tied it for him, carefully, for fear of touching his Adam's apple.

After tying it, I breathed a sigh of relief. I subconsciously wanted to pat his chest, but I held back with my hands raised in the air.

"Okay, let's go." She sat up straight and adjusted her breathing.

Zhou Xingzhi nodded, gently gripped the steering wheel, and slowly started the car. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the same old Seagull watch on her wrist, but the bracelet had been replaced with a brown leather strap.

"The strap is broken?"

"No, I change it occasionally." She raised her wrist, looking at the watch, remembering how Grandpa had given it to Grandma before he died, and how Grandma had given it to her before she died. "It's an old watch, not worth much, and I don't know how long it will last." Every time she thought about it, she felt a pang of sadness. If this watch broke, she would have nothing left of her grandparents.

He opened the bag and found steamed buns with milk flavor and oats inside, which were light and healthy. He took the steamed bun, carefully tore it apart and put it in his mouth, afraid of dropping any residue into his car.
