Depressed wife runs with the ball

Chapter 2 Self-declaration of family status

The sky was bright white, the waves rose and fell, the sunlight was a little dazzling, and she closed her eyes again. The voice beside her rang out again: "The person has passed away, and the living must always live well."

It's so noisy! Is the King of Hell really that noisy? Someone else seemed to be walking over, standing not far from her and saying, "Brother Zhou, are you okay?"

Brother Zhou? Even the minions in Hades have nicknames. You should remember them all.

"It's okay, see if you can stand up and take you to the hospital!" Zhou Xingzhi stood up, brushed the sand off his butt, and put on his police uniform.

Chu Yue opened her eyes. Hospital? Not dead!

The man standing above her was startled when she opened her eyes, "Hey, you're awake!"

"Walk by yourself when you wake up! Get in the car and go to the hospital!" Zhou Xingzhi had to change his pants before anyone else woke up on the street. The man above him was wearing a blue uniform. He helped him up, and Chu Yue could see clearly that the badge read "Auxiliary Police."

Her head hurt so much that she reached out to touch it and it was covered in blood. She vaguely saw a police car parked on the shore and a figure circling around the car.

She felt so uncomfortable, her body was wet, her hair was stuck together, and she was dizzy. Anyway, she had no strength left before she reached the shore. Her eyes went dark and she fainted on the auxiliary police officer.

Zhou Xingzhi changed his pants and looked through the car window to see that the person was completely leaning in the arms of the auxiliary police. The auxiliary police held her wrists on both sides and tried to carry her horizontally. He felt a faint sour feeling in his heart. He opened the car door, jumped off the beach, carried the person to the police car by himself, and instructed the auxiliary police to drive to the hospital.

The emergency nurse changed her into a clean hospital gown, wiped her hair, bandaged her, and then let her lie on the bed. She told Zhou Xingzhi, who came with her, that she could be discharged when she woke up.

Zhou Xingzhi sat beside the bed, carefully observing the girl's appearance. Although her face was pale and a bandage was still on her forehead, she was still beautiful. Her face was clean, her eyes were closed, and she looked like the eternal snow in the mountains. Every part of her was spotless and flawless, with a proud and pure look.

The auxiliary police officer pushed the door open with a pile of documents in his hand and said to Zhou Xingzhi, "Brother Zhou, the formalities are completed."

In fact, the auxiliary police officer is much older than Zhou Xingzhi, but Zhou Xingzhi is a little mature beyond his years, and he is steady and experienced in his work. He wears a formal uniform, and his family is rich. This job is just for him to experience life and satisfy his desire. Many people in the bureau think that if things get difficult one day, they can still ask him for help, so they all respectfully call him Brother Zhou.

It wasn't a big deal, just a minor concussion and a few gulps of water. Normally, he wouldn't sleep for long, but he'd been lying there for almost an hour. Zhou Xingzhi took the receipt, checked it, nodded to the auxiliary police officer, and said, "You go back. I'll be here. Remember to drive the car back to the bureau."

After the auxiliary police left, Zhou Xingzhi went to pay the fee. Chu Yue woke up, feeling dizzy and uncomfortable. She felt like vomiting but couldn't. She hadn't eaten anything last night or this morning. She tried to sit up and saw a blue-white scene in front of her. She was probably in the hospital. It seemed that she had been rescued by the police and sent to the hospital.

The nurse at the door came in, saw that she was awake, and said, "You're awake? Why did you sleep for so long?"

"Have I slept long?"

"Well, maybe an hour. Are you here for tourism?" The nurse adjusted her bed and placed a pillow under her lower back. She added, "Wait until that handsome policeman comes back and tell him."

She looked at the bedside table. There was no phone or bag. Could they have been washed into the sea and lost together? That would be troublesome.

After paying the fee, Zhou Xingzhi came back and saw the man leaning on the hospital bed, staring blankly at the railing in front of the bed. His eyes were numb, not very focused, and he looked a little dazed.

"Awake? Are you still feeling unwell?" He rarely spoke to suicidal people in such a gentle tone, but the girl in front of him made him wonder what had happened to make her jump into the sea to commit suicide.

Chu Yue retracted her gaze, adjusted her mood, and said to the police officer opposite the bed: "Thank you for today. Have you seen my bag?"

Zhou Xingzhi walked to the bedside table, opened the drawer, and handed her bag to the bed.

When she opened the bag, she found wet clothes inside. The sketchbook she carried with her was also wet and had a watermark on it. Her ID documents were all there, but her cell phone was turned off.

"Tell me, why do you want to commit suicide?" Zhou Xingzhi walked to the other side of the bed again, leaned on the armrest, and crossed his hands in front of his chest.

"Suicide?" Chu Yue raised his head and squinted at the policeman. He was quite tall and wore a police uniform, black police pants and... a pair of slippers.

"You jumped into the sea, isn't that suicide?" The man frowned. He didn't know if the woman's mind hadn't recovered yet. She couldn't possibly think that he was just playing in the water, right?

Chu Yue saw the police number on the man's uniform and asked, "Are you from the police station? What's your name? When can I be discharged from the hospital?"

Zhou Xingzhi had been a police officer for a year, but this was the first time he'd been questioned like this by a client. He couldn't help but laugh. He walked over to Chu Yue, pulled up a chair next to the bedside table, sat down, and approached the person on the bed. "I should be the one asking you this. What's your name?"

Chu Yue's head was still dizzy, so she closed her eyes again and took a deep breath, trying to make herself feel better. Seeing her like this, Zhou Xingzhi's heart twitched inexplicably, and it hurt a little.

"Chu Yue, staying at the Binhai Hotel, came to attend a classmate's funeral."

"Chu Yue..." Zhou Xingzhi repeated it again. He couldn't see any joy in the person in front of him, only deep melancholy and a sense of distance.

"When can I be discharged from the hospital?" The policeman was hunched over and a little close to her, which made her subconsciously lean back, trying to keep some distance.

Zhou Xingzhi clearly felt that the woman in front of him was depressed. Her fingers were rubbing together, her eyes were not focused, her consciousness was weak, and she could not concentrate on answering his questions. It seemed that she had some psychological problems.

"Can you leave? Staying in a hotel is the same as staying in a hospital ward. The doctor said that one night is fine. If you want to go back to the hotel, I will take you back." After Zhou Xingzhi worked as a policeman in the police station, he has always been indifferent in handling daily police work and always spoke to the parties in a businesslike tone. But today, facing this girl, he felt a little reluctant and his tone became gentle.

"No need, I can go back by myself. What's your name? Which police station are you from? I'll send you a banner tomorrow." Chu Yue put on his shoes and prepared to walk out of the ward to complete the discharge procedures.

Zhou Xingzhi stood up suddenly, held her wrist, thought for a few seconds and said, "Let me take you home. You still have a wound on your head." Then he pointed to the gauze on her head.

Chu Yue frowned. His touch made her very uncomfortable. She twitched her elbow, trying to get rid of it.

Zhou Xingzhi helped the person out of the ward without noticing anything unusual about her. He also carried her bag, completed the discharge procedures, and ran to tell the head nurse that the patient had to put her hospital gown back on because it was wet and could not be worn, and that she could return it tomorrow.

After all the formalities were completed, Chu Yue still slung the canvas bag over his shoulder and said, "Thank you. I can take a taxi back by myself. I have some cash in my bag. I will make a banner and send it to your police station." He was polite but distant.

Zhou Xingzhi then realized that she seemed to have always refused to let anyone get close to her. He was in police uniform, and sending a girl back to the hotel would easily lead to misunderstandings. He hailed a taxi at the hospital entrance, helped her into the car, and introduced his home address.

"My name is Zhou Xingzhi, and I work in the Psychological Correction Division of the Municipal Bureau."

Chu Yue nodded and asked the driver to drive.

Back at the hotel, I changed out of my hospital gown and into my own clothes. I called the front desk to order lunch. Then I sat on the bed, hugging my blanket, wondering why he'd jumped into the sea. I charged my phone, turned it on, and got a few calls. It was from my boss, Ji Yan.

She opened WeChat and replied to him: It's okay, my phone is out of battery.

Ji Yan replied: Auntie, you scared me to death, how are you? Are you feeling better?

Chu Yue replied: It would be better if there were no black-hearted capitalists like you harassing us.
