Chapter 345: Fighting the King of Hell

Xu Junjun looked at him without showing any weakness, as if to say, "What can you do to me?"

A silent confrontation ended with Jun Xiaochen giving in. He did not continue to argue, but stood up and took Xu Junjun's hand to walk to the dragon bed.

"Jun'er, when can the emperor come to court?"

Xu Junjun sat down and took the little emperor's pulse again. After a moment of silence, he gave his answer:

"The earliest will be the day after tomorrow."

This means that at the court meeting tomorrow morning, Jun Xiaochen will have to face the questioning and anger of all the officials of Tianqi alone.

Jun Xiaochen didn't say much, his expression remained calm:

"The day after tomorrow is the day after tomorrow. Your Majesty's health is the most important thing. Don't force it."

Both of them tacitly agreed not to mention the cruel truth that the little emperor didn't have much time left. There were too many things that Jun Xiaochen needed to deal with.

He stayed in the little emperor's bedroom for a while before being asked to leave by Wei Dong.

Xu Junjun looked at the little emperor with his eyes closed on the dragon bed, and took out the medical book that he had not finished reading during the day to look for a solution.

That night, Xu Junjun and Jun Xiaochen both stayed in the palace.

However, the two of them slept for less than two hours in total.

The next day, before dawn, Xu Junjun, who had just fallen asleep, was awakened by a panicked palace maid.

The little emperor vomited blood.

Blood gushed out of his mouth and nose and couldn't be stopped.

The imperial physician was at a loss as to what to do and hesitated to prescribe medicine.

Xu Junjun rushed to the little emperor's bedroom, and when she looked up, she met Jun Xiaochen's bloodshot eyes.

"Jun'er."

There was obvious pain in Jun Xiaochen's eyes. Xu Junjun's heart tightened and she quickly ran towards the dragon bed.

The little emperor was vomiting blood continuously. Two imperial doctors were kneeling beside him, not daring to speak. The palace maids and eunuchs in the hall shrank their necks and lowered their heads. The atmosphere was depressing and terrifying.

Xu Junjun ran to the dragon bed and saw the pool of dark brown blood under the bed. Without saying a word, he took out the medicine bottle from his arms.

"Come, take the medicine, and you'll be fine."

Xu Junjun's hands were shaking a little, and she couldn't get the two green pills into the little emperor's mouth no matter how many times she tried.

Just as she was so frustrated that she wanted to slap herself to calm herself down, a big hand reached out from her shoulder, took the pill from her palm, supported the little emperor's back, and fed it into his mouth along the corner of his bloody lips.

The little emperor was still somewhat conscious. He swallowed the medicine, coughed weakly, and the blood from his mouth and nose gradually stopped.

Xu Junjun breathed a sigh of relief and was about to look up to talk to Jun Xiaochen when she heard another sound of violent vomiting.

Xu Junjun's pupils trembled slightly, and when he turned his head, the little emperor vomited out all the medicine he had just taken. After vomiting, he immediately fell into a coma.

Xu Junjun pursed her lips and quickly took the little emperor's pulse. Feeling the pulse becoming weaker and weaker, Xu Junjun turned to the kneeling imperial physician and said:

"Who among you has the silver needle? Take it out quickly."

The imperial physician shuddered at her yell, then came to his senses, crawled forward two steps, and opened the medicine box he had brought.

Xu Junjun saw the silver needles on the top layer of the medicine box at a glance, and without waiting for the imperial physician to react, she immediately asked the palace maid to bring the silver needles over.

Jun Xiaochen held the little emperor and looked at Xu Junjun nervously. Xu Junjun took the silver needle, flicked his palm, and pulled out the thin needle tail directly. He asked Jun Xiaochen to take off the little emperor's underwear and started to insert the needle.

"Prepare the ginseng slices."

In between acupuncture points, Xu Junjun said to the imperial physician:

“The thinner the better.”

The little emperor's health was deteriorating rapidly, like a long dike being gnawed by termites. When Xu Junjun used medicine, she had to take into account his weak body that could not be replenished. She could only use thin ginseng slices to nourish his body and then use acupuncture and medicine to assist.

The imperial physicians did not dare to give the emperor acupuncture, nor did they want to take the blame. As soon as Xu Junjun opened his mouth, they nodded quickly, apologized to Jun Xiaochen, and crawled out of the bedroom.

Jun Xiaochen had no time to pay attention to them, his eyes were always on Xu Junjun and the little emperor.

The candlelight in the hall was bright, illuminating the faces of Xu Junjun and the little emperor in every detail.

Xu Junjun has very long eyelashes. When she concentrates on doing something, her eyelashes droop slightly and cast a shadow under her eyes.

Jun Xiaochen watched her insert the needle one by one, his expression becoming more and more serious, and his heart was hanging in his throat.

He overestimated himself. As he watched the little emperor's vitality fade away bit by bit, his emotions became turbulent and he could not suppress them.

Looking at the little emperor's dark and purple face, Jun Xiaochen knew that even compensating this child was a luxury.

More than a dozen silver needles fell on the skinny body. Xu Junjun inserted the last silver needle and breathed a sigh of relief.

The energy dissipated in an instant, and Xu Junjun waved tiredly to the palace maid beside her:

"Hurry up and cook me a bowl of noodles. I'm so hungry."

Xu Junjun felt like he was about to suffer from hypoglycemia. His face turned frighteningly pale, almost like that of a little emperor.

“I obey your command.

I will go down and give the order immediately."

The palace maid had not yet recovered from the shocking scene of the little emperor vomiting blood and dying. When she suddenly heard Xu Junjun's order, she thought she had misheard.

It was not until the Regent's cold gaze fell on her that the maid hurriedly knelt down and responded quickly.

The palace maid left in a hurry, and Xu Junjun waved weakly towards Jun Xiaochen:

"Hold him for a while. After an incense stick of time, remind me to take out the needle."

After saying that, Xu Junjun stood up, ran to the table, poured herself a cup of cold tea and drank it.

The thrill just now disappeared, and the fear of hindsight came over me.

After drinking a cup of cold tea, Xu Junjun felt a burning sensation in her stomach, and her heart was so nervous and her hands were shaking that she could hardly stand.

"Jun'er."

Jun Xiaochen frowned and called her.

Xu Junjun turned her head slowly, her mind a little slow.

"what happened?"

Xu Junjun didn't know how fragile she looked at the moment. Looking at her pale face and trembling fingertips, Jun Xiaochen felt a pang of pain in his heart and his heart tightened.

"Don't worry, I'm here."

Jun Xiaochen's voice was not loud, but he was very reliable.

Xu Junjun felt a pain in her heart, and a strong sour taste rushed to her nose.

"I'm not worried, I just didn't sleep well and I'm a little tired.

Don't worry about me, I'm fine."

Xu Junjun was still stubborn and her hands were still shaking. She put down the teacup in annoyance and sat down on the chair with a thud.

An incense stick of time passed quickly. Xu Junjun washed the sweat from her palms and walked forward to slowly take out the needle.

After the needle was removed, the little emperor finally swallowed the pill and stopped vomiting.

After feeding the pills, Xu Junjun stuffed the ginseng slices sent by the imperial physician into the little emperor's mouth. She saw that his pale face gradually regained color and his trembling fingers finally returned to normal.

Jun Xiaochen took it all in, his eyes filled with heartache. When the imperial kitchen delivered the food to the bedroom, he took Xu Junjun's hand and left the dragon bed.

Xu Junjun only ordered noodles, and the imperial kitchen could not have sent only one bowl of noodles. Knowing that the Regent was also in the emperor's bedroom, the imperial kitchen cooked two bowls of dragon-thread noodles with broth and prepared four refreshing side dishes, which were delivered together.

Xu Junjun didn’t eat much for dinner, and after being scared just now, she was really hungry.

The dragon silk noodles are steaming hot and have an enticing aroma.

The soup base was thick and mellow, and as soon as Xu Junjun took a bite of the noodles, she finally came back to life.

Jun Xiaochen didn't want to use it at first, but when he saw Xu Junjun picking up his chopsticks, he changed his mind.

The two of them ate a bowl of noodles quietly, but the four side dishes were hardly touched. The palace maids removed the bowls and plates. Xu Junjun rinsed her mouth and washed her hands, silently adjusting her mood.

After all this trouble, Jun Xiaochen and Xu Junjun couldn't sleep anymore.

After washing her hands, Xu Junjun went back to reading the medical book, so quiet that it seemed as if she was not herself.

Jun Xiaochen knew that she was upset, and did not force her to stop and rest. He took a last look at the little emperor on the dragon bed, turned around and went to the adjacent palace to change clothes and prepare to go to court.
