Qingyun's Love: Tiger Boy Falls in Love with a Pretty Lawyer

Chapter 146: Seeking a Master and Entering the Network

Qingsheng held Ranmo in one hand and Aili in the other and got into the car in front.

Needless to say, holding Ranmo's hand was not uncommon. And Ayili, perhaps because she was a Hu woman, was not at all restrained and let Qingsheng hold her hand and help her into the car.

Wei Hua wanted to follow, but the car could only accommodate three people. Then, remembering how much effort Wu Shao had put into the rescue, she wanted to say a few more words of thanks, so she followed Wu Shao into another car.

As usual, Qingsheng sat in the middle of the car, and let Ranmo and Aili take a nap on his shoulders, just like when Azan was here before.

Ranmo felt embarrassed to do so, considering Ayili was nearby and not sleepy. However, Ayili seemed very happy and fell asleep directly on Qingsheng's shoulder. This little girl really doesn't shy away from strangers.

A slightly complicated thought flashed through Ran Mo's mind. He felt sympathy and pity for the girl before him, but he didn't know what Qing Sheng was thinking. He wondered if they really felt a strong affinity.

Qingsheng occasionally glanced at the two people beside him, without any special reaction.

He didn't know why he was so familiar with Aili and felt quite close to her. But one thing was certain, the love between him and Ranmo was that of lovers, and he treated Aili as a younger sister, no less than his two younger sisters at home.

Before they knew it, daybreak had broken. Wu Shao and Qing Sheng had already woken up and told the driver to keep going. The other three were still dazed, dozing off in their seats.

A few carriages and horseback riders were already on the road. During the day, this road was relatively safe and busy. But as dusk approached, fewer people were out and about.

About an hour later, the carriage arrived at the place where the tutor and Azan were taken away.

Wu Shao made some marks on the nearby trees and boulders, so it was easy to find.

Looking out, the hillsides stretched out on both sides, and it was impossible to see what was behind them or beyond. There was a narrow path that twisted and turned from this side of the road to the back of the mountain.

The group decided to explore along this path. There happened to be an open area nearby, so Young Master Wu had the driver stop there. He then had Wei Hua and A Yi Li wait in the carriage while they went to investigate.

The three of them followed the path, and after quite some effort, they finally reached the top of the slope. The path looked flat, but it was actually quite strenuous, almost like climbing a mountain. And this was their weak point.

Standing at the top of the hill, they felt a sense of vastness and vastness. The three of them had no interest in appreciating the scenery, but only in scanning for any unusual signs.

A white dove flew across the sky. Several people watched it fly off into the distance. Then it disappeared into the trees on the opposite hillside. A corner of a red roof glimpsed through the swaying shadows of the trees.

Everyone saw the eaves. Whether it was a temple, a house, or some other place, they could certainly find out a little bit about it.

Looking from this side, the mountainside over there seemed to be right before my eyes, but if I actually walked there, I wondered how much time and energy it would take. I really wanted to turn into that pigeon and fly over there.

They put their thoughts aside, gathered their strength, and continued down the mountain path. Going down the mountain also required a lot of effort, and they had to be careful not to slip.

Wu Shao was ahead, exploring the way, while Qingsheng carefully followed behind, holding Ranmo's hand. Ranmo thought it would be best to just let go. Otherwise, if one fell, the other would be dragged down too.

Qingsheng didn't understand this, but he still held her hand tightly, afraid that she would run away. Ran Mo smiled faintly and let him go.

Panting, they were less than halfway through their journey and wanted to find a place to rest. They saw a flat patch of ground in front of them, covered with soft fallen leaves, and tall trees on both sides.

The three of them headed over there. Unexpectedly, as they reached the spot, they felt their feet sink. Without time to summon their inner energy, they fell like a pile of Arhats into a large pit half a man deep. Fortunately, Ran Mo was at the top, otherwise he would have been crushed to death.

Before they could react, a large net connecting the bottom of the pit to the wall was suddenly lifted up and tightened. The three people were trapped in the net and wanted to struggle out but they had no strength to do so.

Then, the net, carrying them with it, was launched into the air. A long rod-like object hung overhead, extending to the other side. The end of the net's rope seemed to be connected to a pulley, and then, driven by gravity, the net slid rapidly down the hillside in the distance.

Several people were confused, wondering what had happened. Ranmo felt like he was riding a cable car that glided from the top of the mountain to the bottom. Only it wasn't as sophisticated or powerful as modern ones.

After a while, they arrived at the bottom of the slope in this "online taxi". They didn't need to walk, which saved them a lot of energy.

Through the grid, they saw several houses and figures appearing before them. Several young men were glaring at them with long sticks in their hands.

Several people were at a loss. A slightly older man who looked like a manager came over. A young man rushed forward to report, "Master, we've caught three spies."

The three of them were furious when they heard this. "You're the real spy! I'm an upright martial artist (scholar)."

The master seemed calm and composed, and asked his men to release the three men from the net first. They did so, but when they came out, they took the opportunity to tie their hands.

When the young man was tying up Ran Mo, he seemed to feel something strange and couldn't help but look at her twice.

Qingsheng noticed and glared at him. The boy even wanted to kick Qingsheng, but he was stopped by the master.

Ran Mo quickly signaled to Qing Sheng that she was fine and to not provoke them. Qing Sheng twisted his body to break free from the rope.

It's just strange that the thin and smooth rope looks so flexible that it remains intact no matter how you move it. But if you use too much force, it will cut into your flesh and hurt.

The Master asked them, "Who are you? Why are you here to explore my camp?"

A camp? Could we have run into bandits? But judging by their appearance and the way they were addressed, they didn't seem like bandits. Instead, they possessed the aura of both scholars and chivalrous thieves.

"Sir, we are not bad people. We came from Xiaoyue City on business and passed by here. However, two of our companions were lost, so we came here to look for them." Wu Shao gave a general account of the situation without going into too much detail.

The master stroked his beard, pondered for a moment, and said, "We are in a remote area. There are no villages nearby, and carriages and horses on the official road rarely stop here. How did your companion get lost?"

His question was quite clever, leaving no room for fabrication. Wu Shao had no choice but to briefly recount how his master and fellow apprentice had been "kidnapped."

After he finished, the group looked at each other, as if they understood something. The master asked the young man to untie the ropes on their hands. The young man came over with a pout and untied them one by one.

It's more like I just cut it open with a small blade than I did with a small razor blade. It turns out it's only usable once. You tie it down through the hole, but if you try to untie it, it won't work. It's kind of like those hard, disposable ropes you use to hang luggage tags.

The three of them stood up and stretched their muscles. Qingsheng walked to Ranmo's side and protected her.
