Journey to the West: After the Great Sage listened to the advice, the three realms were all confused
Chapter 383: Tang Sanzang Tathagata Debates on Buddhism
As he spoke, a bowl appeared in Tathagata's hand.
The bowl glowed with golden light all over, and had faint purple patterns on it.
"go."
With a light shout from Tathagata, the bowl instantly left his hand and turned into a ray of light flying towards the four people who were seeking the scriptures.
His bowl covered all the people who were seeking the scriptures.
Thinking of catching them all in one fell swoop.
Zhu Bajie looked at the bowl that was taken from them and thought to himself that it was over and his life was over.
After being locked in the bowl, Tang Sanzang felt his whole body stiffen and he could only watch helplessly as the bowl continued to grow larger.
He didn't know why the Buddha attacked him?
He is clearly devoted to Buddhism and wants to save all living beings, right?
At this moment, his faith in Buddha collapsed bit by bit, and he felt very confused.
Don’t know what Buddha is?
What does it mean to save all sentient beings?
Under this pressure, he actually awakened his sealed memories.
Scenes flashed through his mind, and his aura began to rise.
It turned out that he was a disciple of Tathagata, named Jin Chanzi.
Just because he raised objections to Buddhism, he was thrown into the cycle of reincarnation and all his cultivation was reduced to zero.
Now that I think about it, it was all calculated.
His change attracted the attention of everyone in the hall.
This also includes Tathagata, who was even more angry when he saw Tang Sanzang awaken his past life memories at the critical moment.
The Journey to the West was a failure, and it is impossible to return to Buddhism.
Since things were not done well, you should accept the punishment.
The eyes of Guanyin and other Bodhisattvas flickered slightly, and they had no intention of speaking for Jin Chanzi, that is, Tang Sanzang.
Tang Sanzang's aura continued to rise until it reached the realm of Taiyi Golden Immortal.
However, even at the level of Taiyi Golden Immortal, he was still unable to move under the suppression of the purple gold bowl.
On the other hand, Sun Wukong glanced at Tang Sanzang with interest in his eyes.
In fact, he had already noticed it the moment Tathagata made his move.
Just don't rush into it.
When the purple-gold bowl was about to reach him, a flash of light appeared in his hand, and the Heaven-Breaking Stick appeared in his hand.
He flew into the air and knocked the purple gold bowl away with one stick.
This process seems long, but it actually happens in the blink of an eye.
Lingkong stood in place, with a mocking look on Sun Wukong's face.
"What a great Tathagata Buddha, he actually resorted to sneak attacks?"
Tathagata did not say anything, but instead stretched out his hand and held the purple gold bowl in his hand.
A huge force was transmitted into his body through the bowl, and he secretly used his magic power to dissolve this huge force.
Sun Wukong's move made him extremely surprised.
You have to know that even if it is an early stage quasi-saint, if you are caught off guard and attacked by his purple gold bowl, you will be injured.
But Sun Wukong reacted very quickly and was not injured.
Judging from the strength of the rebound, the opponent's strength should not be underestimated.
I'm afraid he's on par with me.
Thinking of this, his eyes darkened slightly.
This Sun Wukong must die.
When everyone in the hall saw that Sun Wukong easily dissolved the Buddha's magic weapon, their eyes were full of disbelief.
When will a monkey who has only been transformed for a few hundred years be able to compete with an ancient great being like the Buddha?
This made them wonder if their practice of Taoism had failed.
It's true that people have to die when compared with others, and goods have to be thrown away when comparing goods.
Tathagata naturally also noticed the gazes of the people below. He looked at Sun Wukong with murderous intent in his eyes without any concealment.
"Monkey, I didn't expect your strength to increase so much after you became a demon. If that's the case, don't blame me for taking action myself."
"Stop talking nonsense. I, Old Sun, am just looking forward to experiencing the Buddha's great moves."
Hearing that the Buddha was going to take action personally, everyone in the hall showed excitement.
There aren't many opportunities like this.
They can gain a lot from observing.
As for whether Buddha will be defeated?
That's impossible. The Buddha is a famous strong man in the three realms.
Even the Jade Emperor could only end up in a draw with the Buddha.
Let’s put it this way, in this age when no saints emerge, Tathagata Buddha is undoubtedly the number one.
As for Sun Wukong, they admit that he has some skills.
But he is just a bit skilled, and there is still a big gap between him and the top powerhouses.
Looking at Sun Wukong's eager look, Tathagata sneered in his heart.
Let this monkey see that the top strongmen are not someone he can challenge.
The other party is destined to pay the price for his or her ignorance.
At this moment, Tang Sanzang suddenly raised his head and looked directly at Tathagata.
He clenched his fists, felt the strength in his body, and the confusion in his eyes disappeared.
Just now, it can be said that he turned a disaster into a blessing. Not only did his memory awaken, but his strength also greatly improved.
He took a step forward and said, "Buddha, I have come from the Tang Dynasty in the East and have experienced 81 trials and tribulations. However, in the process of studying the scriptures and spreading the Dharma, many confusions have gradually arisen in my heart. I would like to ask for your guidance."
At this critical moment, Tang Sanzang's words made Tathagata, who was about to take action, frown.
Tathagata is now very annoyed with Tang Sanzang. Not only does he fail to do things well, but he also makes trouble at critical moments.
But he is the Buddha, so he still has to save face.
"But it doesn't matter."
Hearing the dissatisfaction in the voice of Tathagata Buddha, Tang Sanzang was not nervous.
From the Buddha's action of wanting to kill him just now, plus the memory of awakening.
He knew that he could no longer stay in Buddhism.
But he still had some questions to ask.
He felt that there was nothing wrong with his Buddhist teachings, but that the problems lay with the high and mighty Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and others at Lingshan.
He did not lose his devotion to Buddhism, nor did he give up on saving all sentient beings.
Since there is no Buddha worthy of his faith, he will become the Buddha himself and start a new path.
"Buddha, what is Buddha?"
"Is saving all sentient beings a Buddha?"
Tathagata answered without hesitation.
There were a group of Bodhisattvas in the main hall, and the Buddha nodded.
They all know such a simple question.
Tang Sanzang nodded and spoke slowly.
"Buddhism advocates compassion and the salvation of all sentient beings, but the world is filled with suffering, and all sentient beings struggle in the sea of misery. Why does suffering continue to persist? How can compassion and salvation truly be realized in this world?"
Upon hearing this, Tathagata shook his head slightly, “The suffering in the world is all due to sentient beings being too obsessed with their thoughts, and being entangled in the three poisons of greed, anger, and ignorance.
Although Buddhism can point out the way to liberation, if sentient beings are unwilling to let go of their attachments, how can they be liberated?
It is not about forcibly pulling sentient beings out of the sea of suffering, but about guiding them to awaken on their own, let go of their obsessions, and escape the cycle of reincarnation."
After hearing this, Tang Sanzang sneered:
"What the Buddha said may seem reasonable, but it actually evades the important issues. Many of the sufferings in the world today are caused by oppression by the powerful and the injustice of the world.
The people of Lingshan watched the people suffer, but they only knew how to talk empty talk and ask them to let go of their obsessions.
If we can't solve the problem at its root, and just let sentient beings accept what's happening to them, what kind of universal salvation is that?"
Tathagata's expression changed slightly. He didn't expect Tang Sanzang to be so bold.
The Bodhisattvas and Buddhas in the hall also looked surprised.
Tathagata said in a deep voice, "Cause and effect are cyclical. All sufferings endured by sentient beings are the result of past karma. Buddhism uses pure practice to resolve karma. This is the fundamental principle."
Tang Sanzang immediately retorted, "If cause and effect are already determined, then what is the point of our cultivation? The people are suffering, are we just going to have to wait for our karma to be eliminated? If Buddhism can't change the current situation, how can it gain the trust of sentient beings?"
He continued, "In the Tang Dynasty of the East, I've seen too many ordinary people suffer just for a bite to eat. They don't understand the profound Buddhist teachings and simply hope for a stable life. If we can't provide practical help and only preach letting go, that's not the compassion of the Buddhist teachings, but indifference!"
What he didn't say is that the current Buddhist community is actually trying to harvest faith.
He doesn't care about the lives of all living beings at all.
Tathagata was speechless for a moment, and beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
He didn't expect that this Jin Chanzi was so eloquent and made him unable to refute for a while.
Tang Sanzang pressed on, "True Buddhism should allow all living beings to feel warmth and hope in this world, rather than pinning their hopes on the unknown cycle of reincarnation. I am willing to use my power, starting from now, to change the injustice in this world. This is the true salvation of all living beings!"
Everyone looked at each other, and no one could refute it for a moment.
Seeing that Tathagata was speechless for a moment, he spoke after a while: "Tang Sanzang, you have been invaded by the inner demon. It is a pity that you do not know the true Dharma."
