The journey on the third day was particularly difficult, especially when they arrived at a small town called Xuwen, where the official road came to an abrupt end.

The rest of the journey was along the winding village road. I thought I would reach my destination soon, but as time went by and the sky gradually darkened, the carriage continued to go up and down the hill.

The salty smell of sea water filled the nasal cavity, and even the sea breeze was salty and astringent, which made everyone who was already sweating feel sticky and extremely uncomfortable.

"Aren't we going to rest tonight?" Jing Chunxi couldn't stand it any longer. She pulled out a few meat buns from her space, gave two to Jing Changjiang and Xu Zize, and took one herself. The large meat buns, which usually tasted so delicious, seemed particularly dry and astringent due to the weather, leaving her with no appetite.

"Just eat one to fill your stomach. Don't eat too much. Brother Dalang and Brother Sanlang have prepared a seafood feast for you." Jing Changjiang's words finally made Jing Chunxi raise her drooping head, and a smile immediately broke out on her face.

"Are we there soon?" Her voice was full of excitement, and she almost wanted to fly, but when she lifted the curtains and looked out, it was still pitch black.

"My uncle is so mean! He didn't even tell me in advance. Xier thought we would have to stay one more night before arriving." She had heard from her brother Qi Er that they would indeed not arrive at their destination until around noon tomorrow.

"Your brother Dalang sent someone to tell me before dawn that we must arrive tonight no matter what. He told you to have a good meal when you arrive and then sleep for three days and three nights. Hahaha!" Jing Changjiang's hearty voice echoed in the woods, startling the birds in the trees and making them fly away with a "puff puff puff".

After walking down the mountain for a while, Jing Chunxi suddenly felt that the road had become smoother, no longer as bumpy as before, and her buttocks were no longer painful. She couldn't help but ask doubtfully, "Are we there yet?"

"Several bonfires are showing us the way." Jing Changjiang said, pointing to the front.

As cheers rang out outside, Jing Chunxi also lifted the curtain of the carriage. Sure enough, there was a low bush to the right, less than half a mile away, so you could see several piles of flames shooting up into the sky. The bright light was formed by four or five bonfires.

"General, we've arrived at Litchi Bay. The location of the bonfire is the training ground, and it's also where the big kitchen is." The voice of a subordinate came from outside.

"They must be getting impatient, so go straight there," Jing Changjiang ordered.

It looked close, but the winding road took a quarter of an hour or two. During this time, Jing Chunxi occasionally caught sight of a vast expanse of dark water in the distance, and occasionally a large forest. After turning a few corners, the road ahead finally opened up, and the carriage entered a large training ground.

"Sister Xi, you're here."

"Cousin Xi!"

Before the carriage came to a complete stop, two dark figures rushed over. The voice was so familiar that Jing Chunxi immediately recognized them.

"Brother Dalang, Brother Sanlang, I'm here, the second one." Jing Chunxi responded excitedly. When she was about to get off the car, if Xu Zize hadn't lifted her from behind, she would have fallen flat on her face.

The bright fire just caught the profiles of the two dark-faced men, and Jing Chunxi was stunned. It was the same two familiar voices, but the people before her were so different from her memory that she couldn't recognize them.

"Hahaha!" Jing Changjiang, who got off the car last, burst into a hearty laugh. "I can't recognize them, right? Don't Dalang and Sanlang look a bit like fishermen?"

Jing Chunxi shook her head helplessly. Looking at the two people across from her who were stunned and didn't dare to move forward, she jokingly said, "Like a big black bear!"

"Hahaha!" This made everyone laugh, but everyone felt that this description was indeed very appropriate.

Sanlang was fine. Although his face became darker, he grew taller and stronger, but the changes were not too big. Dalang didn't grow much taller, but his build was almost like Jing Changjiang, with broad and thick shoulders, and his exposed arms were full of hard muscles. His face was bronzed, and he looked like a big black bear!

"Sister Xi, please stay here for a few more days. Brother Dalang and Brother Sanlang will take you to enjoy the sea breeze and bask in the sun. See if your grandparents will recognize you when you go back." Dalang completely ignored everyone's laughter, reached out and touched Jing Chunxi's shoulder, then retracted his hand.

He thought to himself, "Sister Xi has grown up and is so beautiful," but he was too embarrassed to say it out loud because his cousin had just teased him.

Sanlang kept showing his big white teeth and smiling naively. He stood very close to Jing Chunxi, but still said very little. He just said, "Thank you for your hard work."

"Da Lang, didn't you say there was delicious food? Why are you still dawdling? After we finish eating, let everyone settle down. We will be staying for three to five days this time, so everyone should move all their things down." Jing Changjiang urged.

As soon as Jing Changjiang finished speaking, Dalang put two fingers in his mouth and blew a loud whistle. The people who had been surrounding him but had not yet come forward all rushed out to greet him, pulling and tugging.

Jing Chunxi looked in their direction and discovered that there were many tables set up in the middle of the campfire. There were pots, pans, buckets, and bowls next to the campfires. Someone was cooking something, and the occasional aroma wafted towards his nose.

"I'm so hungry!" she couldn't help but sigh.

"Let's feast!" Dalang suddenly roared, his voice so resonant it startled quail from the nearby bushes. Bustle immediately erupted around the campfire: someone uncovered a steamer, sending white mist swirling with the delicious aroma of seafood. A shirtless man used a shovel to unseat an earthenware jar buried in the sand. The lotus leaf sealing the jar's mouth had turned yellow and curled at the edges.

Jing Chunxi's stomach rumbled in time. Following the aroma, she looked over. Over the nearest bonfire, a wrought iron pot simmered golden minced garlic in simmering oil. Nearby, wooden basins and barrels teemed with fresh crabs and prawns. Further away, at a bonfire, several women in headscarves fried flaky oyster omelets on a stone slab. The scraping sound of their spatulas mixed with the sizzling grease was truly appetizing.
