The previously empty main hall was, as expected, neatly arranged with tea tables and tea sets. A rosewood tea table, its delicate wood grain shimmering like a flowing stream in the sunlight; a set of azure Ru kiln teaware sat quietly, its walls faintly marked by cracks of ice. A wisp of white mist drifted from the teapot's spout, carrying the distinct fragrance of cloud tea. It was clear that the tea drinker had recently left.

In addition to the necessities for drinking tea, there were two big guys wagging their tails next to the tea table - Thunder and Lightning. These two huge wolfhounds were very excited to see them, and ran over to circle around Jing Chunxi and Xu Zize's feet. Their shiny fur shone with a healthy luster in the sun, and their thick tails swung with a whirring sound.

"Jinglei and Lightning seem to have gained weight again," Jing Chunxi frowned and looked at their waists which had obviously rounded up. "Did Brother Xiaokang feed them carelessly?" She looked up and questioned Xu Zize, her almond eyes full of blame.

Xu Zize spread out his hands with an innocent look on his face: "Of course, they will eat whatever Brother Xiaokang eats." As he spoke, he took out a piece of dried meat from the table. The two big dogs immediately stood up, put their front paws on his chest, stuck out their tongues and looked expectant.

This scene made Jing Chunxi furious. She put her hands on her hips and said, "They can hunt on their own. There's no need to feed them!"

These words made the two big wolfhounds, who were originally overjoyed, instantly wilted. Their ears drooped, their tails stopped wagging, and they lay back on the ground dejectedly, looking at their owner with wet eyes in grievance, as if accusing her of cruelty.

Jing Chunxi was so amused by their appearance that he couldn't help laughing. The main hall was suddenly filled with a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.

The three of them naturally had much to discuss. Not only did they recount the past two years—those thrilling encounters, the wondrous connections, the moments of life and death—but they also had to carefully plan for the future: border defense, the situation at court, the crises lurking in the shadows. Every event deserved to be recounted in detail, and every decision could potentially affect the fate of millions.

Halfway through her tea, her conversation almost over, Jing Chunxi suddenly felt bored. She rested her chin on one hand, the fingers of her other hand gently tapping on the rosewood tea table, a rhythmic "tap, tap" sound. The light in her eyes danced across her delicate face, her long eyelashes casting a small shadow under her eyes.

She looked at Xu Zize - he was listening intently to Jing Changjiang's narration of the border war, his silver-white robe emitting a soft luster; then she looked at her uncle - this iron-blooded general rarely relaxed, he had taken off his dark red robe and was only wearing a dark blue uniform, but his straight back still maintained his military demeanor.

There was a glint of cunning in Jing Chunxi's eyes, like a little fox about to play a mischief.

"Uncle, since we are all having fun together, shouldn't we have a few drinks to enjoy ourselves?" She suddenly spoke, her voice sounding deliberately innocent, but the slightly rising ending tone betrayed her calculations.

Jing Changjiang frowned when he heard this, and the wrinkles on his face, which had been exposed to wind and sun for many years, became more obvious: "What are you drinking, little girl?" His voice stopped abruptly before he finished his words of reproach.

Jing Chunxi pointed a slender finger at an empty spot nearby. Visible ripples spread through the air, as if an invisible stroke had opened a hole in space. Then, a small rosewood dining table appeared out of thin air. The natural wood grain on the top flowed like a landscape painting, and intricate twined flower patterns were carved into the corners.

The moment the dining table was put on the ground, plates of delicious dishes appeared on the table as if by magic: emerald-like stir-fried seasonal vegetables, golden and crispy fried small yellow croaker, bright red and tempting braised pork, jade-white steamed sea bass... There were also several plates of exquisite pastries, the osmanthus cake was decorated with real golden osmanthus, and the mung bean cake was made into the shape of a lotus, exuding a faint sweet fragrance.

All the tableware is made of high-quality celadon, which glows with a warm luster under the candlelight.

Jing Chunxi covered his mouth with his other hand and laughed, his eyes curved into crescents: "The meals are all prepared by mother, they taste the best, and uncle will definitely like them."

As soon as he finished speaking, a small pottery jar appeared in Jing Chunxi's hand. The jar was dark brown in color, with three large and flamboyant characters "Zuixian Niang" written on it in cinnabar.

She shook it proudly, and the sound of liquid sloshing came from it: "Uncle, come on, good food must be paired with good wine."

At the dinner table, Xu Zize saw nothing but a set of celadon tableware before him, not even a wine glass. Meanwhile, the general across from him had already drunk several cups in a row, each time raising his glass, the amber liquor rippled in the glass, emitting a rich aroma.

Jing Changjiang, who had taken off his mask, had a slightly red face after drinking, and his brows, which had been tense for years, relaxed. After finishing a glass, he kept saying "Good wine! Delicious!" His voice was so loud that it made the soup in the middle tremble slightly.

Xu Zize's fingers tapped unconsciously on the table, his eyes occasionally glancing at the wine jar that exuded the aroma of wine. Finally, he couldn't help but quietly reach out, his slender fingers touching the wine jar in front of Jing Chunxi, his movements so light as if he was afraid to disturb anything.

"There's no share for you. Have you forgotten the injuries on your body?" Jing Chunxi didn't even raise his head, and the chopsticks in his hand hit the back of Xu Zize's hand accurately, making a crisp "pop" sound.

Xu Zize retracted his hand like lightning, and stroked the back of his slightly red hand with great grievance. His peach blossom eyes looked at Jing Chunxi resentfully, and his thick eyelashes cast a shadow under his eyes, making him look like a bullied big dog.

Jing Changjiang, seeing this, reluctantly put down his wine glass. The porcelain cup clashed with the table, making a crisp sound. He, too, wanted to have some drinking companionship, so he couldn't help but offer his help: "Sister Xi~~" His voice dragged out, carrying the doting and pleading characteristic of an elder.

Jing Chunxi glanced at her uncle's expectant eyes, then at Xu Zize's pitiful appearance, and finally gave in. She sighed, her shoulders slumping slightly. "I can only drink this small bottle of fruit wine." As she spoke, she raised her hand and grasped the air, conjuring up a palm-sized white jade bottle, delicately carved with plum blossom patterns.

Xu Zize immediately smiled, his eyes and eyebrows were filled with joy, and his expression changed at an astonishing speed: "I knew Xier was the best." When he took the jade bottle, his fingertips accidentally brushed against the back of Jing Chunxi's hand, causing Jing Chunxi to quickly retract his hand.

Jing Changjiang looked at the interaction between the two children and shook his head helplessly.

He continued to pour himself a drink, and the wine drew a graceful arc as he poured it, stirring up tiny bubbles in the glass.

I have to say that this wine is really good. It tastes sweet and mellow, with a long aftertaste, a light floral and fruity aroma, and a strong aftertaste.

The food was steaming hot and smelled fragrant. Each dish had the familiar taste in his memory, making this general, who had been fighting outside for many years, feel the long-lost warmth of home.

The sound of the three chatting and laughing, accompanied by the crisp sound of tableware clinking, formed a warm scene. Two large wolfhounds lay at their feet, and the sound of them gnawing on bones seemed to accompany this rare reunion.
