Genshin Impact: The Road to Reversal

Chapter 150 Entering Sangyang

"Well, what's wrong, Yaohui?" Seeing Yaohui stop, Kailin immediately asked in confusion.

Yaohui turned around and said seriously, "A little further ahead is Sangyang's town. When you get there, follow my instructions and don't run around. Do you understand?"

"Okay." Everyone nodded, and then continued to follow Yaohui forward.

Across the devastated forest, a dilapidated village appeared before them. It was noon, and the bustling market was now in ruins. The streets were filled with a foul odor. The people here, wearing tattered, simple kimonos, sat listlessly on both sides of the road.

Looking at myself again, I was in two completely different worlds, and everyone followed Yaohui and walked through the group of people with dignity.

People were sitting there, and when they saw strangers walking past them, they could only slowly raise their heads and look at everyone with strange and surprised eyes.

Feeling the gazes coming from all around, Kailin couldn't help but shudder and said, "I say, do you think these people's gazes are so strange?"

"Shh, don't look around, so as not to cause unnecessary trouble." Yaohui turned his head slightly and said in a low voice.

"Oh, okay." Karen nodded slightly.

Everyone continued to move forward, and just as they were about to leave the village, several men holding martial arts swords suddenly rushed out from the alley on the side.

"Wait a minute!" The man tried his best to stop everyone, then came up to them and said, "You guys should be from outside the island, right?"

"So what? It's none of your business." Yaohui said with his arms folded.

"How is it none of my business? Everyone on the island is saying that the God of Mengtian has cursed us, forbidding us to leave the island forever. And disasters strike here every year. We really have no way to survive!"

"Really? If so, what does it have to do with me?"

"Of course it's your business! Ever since the curse fell on Sangyang Island, no one on the island can leave, and no one from outside can come in. You're actually from outside the island, which means you must be messengers from God, otherwise you wouldn't be here!" The man knelt on the ground and said, "Please, please tell the god that we know we were wrong, and ask him to remove the curse and give us a way out. If not, please let me leave alone, otherwise we really have no way out!"

The man begged desperately, thinking that the other party would soften his heart, but Yaohui showed no sympathy at all.

"Ha, whether you survive or not is none of my business. If I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have done it in the first place." Yao Hui folded his arms and said, "Back then, you Sangyang people, to satisfy your own animal desires, waged war against the entire world, burning, killing, and looting, committing countless heinous crimes. Now that you're suffering and begging for mercy, who should the souls of those who died tragically at your hands turn to for mercy?"

"This...that was all done by our ancestors hundreds of years ago. Why should we pay for their pain?" the man argued.

Yao Hui shook his head and said, "Another old-fashioned excuse. Okay, then let me ask you, 200 years ago, you, Sangyang, were defeated. The Holy Lord brought down a curse and disaster, leaving your island barren. Logically speaking, you shouldn't have been able to hold out for much longer, yet why has your race survived until now?"

The man hesitated and was about to explain when he was interrupted by Yaohui.

"It can't be just perseverance, right?" Yaohui shook his head. "After you were defeated, the island was plagued by disasters year after year. Every harvest season, there were either earthquakes or floods. If it weren't for the resources you plundered from others, how could you have persisted until today? Did you realize your mistakes? Did you feel you couldn't survive? I can't see it, right? You only care about your own suffering, but when you enjoyed those resources, did you ever think about the people who died because of your plunder? Why didn't you complain back then, and even took the resources they plundered for granted?"

"You, this is total slander!" the man said indignantly, and from his expression at the moment, it was obvious that Yaohui had touched a sore spot.

"I slandered you? Humph, ridiculous. As far as I know, even if you can't eat enough, you will deduct some from your own food as tribute to worship those evil beasts. You regard them as your gods. When you worship them, have you ever thought that you are wrong? In my opinion, compared with those guys back then, you are simply birds of a feather!" Yaohui continued to sarcastically, his words full of contempt and disdain.

The man was so angry at Yaohui's words that he trembled all over, and his companions also showed anger on their faces.

At this moment, the man drew his katana and pointed it at Yaohui, completely ignoring his previous pleading gesture and roared, "Don't go too far! We are already so destitute, and you still humiliate us like this!"

Yaohui, however, remained calm. He gently leaned aside, his eyes devoid of any fear. "What? You're ready to attack me just because I hit the nail on the head? Is this what you call admitting your mistakes? People really do change with the climate."

Seeing the other party's attitude, the man gritted his teeth and roared, "I don't care what your attitude is. I only ask you one question: are you willing to take me away?"

Yao Hui folded his arms and said, "I already gave you the answer from the beginning."

"Well, since you won't agree, then forget about leaving here! You're going to die anyway, so we'll fight you to the bitter end today!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the Sangyang people who had been wandering the streets gathered around him, all because of the anger between the man and Yaohui. Like the man, they picked up wooden sticks and old farm tools from the street without saying a word, and with determination in their eyes, they surrounded Yaohui and his group.

"Oh, it seems you want to force it." Yaohui said nonchalantly.

"Of course, if you don't want to take us away, then you can't leave here!"

"Really?" Yao Hui folded his arms and sneered at their trembling hands. "Is this your attitude? You really think that will scare me? Ridiculous. Forget it. If you insist on going your own way, I don't mind slaughtering the entire village to avenge the deaths of those innocent souls who died tragically at the hands of you Sangyang people."

As soon as the words fell, the already tense atmosphere became even more tense. Everyone looked at Yaohui in disbelief. Normally, he would never say such things, but today...

"You...you think I'm afraid of you? There are so many of us, stop bluffing here!" the man shouted timidly.

Yao Hui snorted coldly and put down his hands. "Oh, that's such a pity. I wanted to let you go, but since you don't know how to live or die, I have no choice but to... let go!"

Yaohui clenched his fists and was about to punch when suddenly, a breeze blew past, followed by a long groan.
