Bai Zhizhi was just about to push open the kitchen door when she heard a knock on the door. She turned around with some confusion.

"Who would come here at this time?"

Bai Zhizhi muttered to herself as she slowly moved towards the door.

I was writing in the house just now and didn't pay attention. Now I came out and realized that my hands are so cold that I can't feel them at all. It's such a sin.

"Stop knocking, I'm coming, I'm coming." Bai Zhizhi responded while pulling out the bolt.

The door bolt was frozen solid, and because my hands were stiff, I couldn't pull it out even after trying twice.

"Third sister-in-law, what's wrong with you? Are your hands frozen? Hurry and go to the kitchen to warm them up."

As Zhou Changjiang spoke, he quickly opened the gate.

Then, Bai Zhizhi met the eyes of the hunter standing at the door.

Bai Zhizhi coughed lightly, quickly looked away, and hid behind her brother without waiting for him to move.

The hunter was not much better than her. He stood there with an awkward look on his face, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

"Why are you here in this heavy snow? What's the matter?"

Zhou Changjiang stood in front of his third brother's wife without leaving any trace. He had not forgotten what happened between the two of them. This person must have come to his house for no good reason, and he must not let him coax his third brother's wife away.

Hearing the question, the hunter quickly revealed a slightly awkward smile, "I came here today to thank Brother Zhou and Brother Zhou for saving my life. It's been snowing these past few days, and there's been little prey in the mountains. I don't have anything good to offer, except this rabbit. I hope Brother Zhou doesn't mind."

The hunter said this and quickly took the rabbit out.

The rabbit was not too small and seemed to know what its fate would be. It kicked its hind legs twice.

Bai Zhizhi found it interesting, so she looked at him a few more times. She accidentally made eye contact with the hunter again and could only force an awkward smile.

"Brother, you guys go talk inside. I'm going to the kitchen to work first."

After Bai Zhizhi finished speaking, she quickly went into the kitchen.

Zhou Changjiang nodded at her, and after confirming that his third brother's wife had really entered the kitchen, he led them towards the main hall.

"Why are you so polite? You even come all the way to thank me."

"This is what I should do. Although it's not a big deal for my two brothers, you really saved my life. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here."

The hunter spoke politely and subconsciously glanced over there when passing by the kitchen.

The kitchen door was closed, leaving only a small gap through which I could vaguely see busy figures, but I didn't see that person. He looked different from the way I had seen him before.

Zhou Changjiang had been paying attention to him, so he naturally noticed his gaze and quickly pulled him aside without leaving any trace. "It's cold in the yard, come inside and sit down."

The main hall of the Zhou family was not much warmer than the yard. Seeing that people were still working, the hunter didn't say much.

He quickly put the rabbit down, took off the backpack on his back, and took out a bunch of miscellaneous things from it.

Most of them are various kinds of dried meat, and a small packet of brown sugar.

Such a gift is really valuable in a farming family like theirs.

Qian took one look and quickly refused, "That's impossible. We can't afford to take so many of your things."

"Don't be polite, Auntie. These things are not worth much. If I hadn't caught any prey these days, I wouldn't have brought only these things. I hope you don't mind."

The hunter said seriously.

Seeing that he didn't look like he was lying, Qian finally stopped talking and said, "You see, I still made you spend money."

"This is what I should do. If it weren't for Brother Zhou and the others, I would definitely not be here. I can't repay you for saving my life, so I can only give what I can. In the end, I'm still taking advantage of my two brothers."

The hunter said this with a smile. He was really grateful to the two brothers of the Zhou family.

He accidentally provoked the wild boar that day. He didn't expect it to go crazy and injure him. If the Zhou brothers hadn't appeared, he would have died there.

A few of them chatted about some random things.

Seeing that he was really disturbing others, the hunter just sat for a while and then got up and said goodbye.
