Chapter 74 The Storm Has Not Arrived
On the way back, Lamia did not feel the intense cold she had felt before. Instead, due to the explosion of the vampire power in her body, she could even walk very fast - although she was still in the icy pipe.
"Lamia, stop." Tom chased after her. Maybe he felt a little guilty just now, but it had disappeared long ago. All that was left was anger at Lamia for leaving him.
"Tom, we should go back early. It's not safe here." Although Lamia turned her head, she did not stop, but walked faster.
She was not stupid. It was obvious that Tom did not want her to go alone. Lamia had guessed what he was thinking, but she did not want to just go along with him. Although Tom would eventually succeed in what he wanted to do, Lamia did not want him to have it so easy.
Tom's expression was not as anxious as before, it seemed that Lamia's words had temporarily diverted his attention. Tom knew very well that Lamia would not forgive him just like that, but he would find a way, just like he had done before, he would succeed.
Tom comforted himself in his heart and caught up with Lamia who was walking very fast in front.
It took them only half the time to reach the exit. The moment they went out, Lamia took a deep breath. The smell of the Hogwarts women's bathroom was not very good, but it was much better than the underground. At least she didn't have to hold her breath.
"Lamia, are you willing to listen to my explanation?" Tom climbed up from the exit immediately. In the light, Lamia noticed how miserable he was - he was covered in dirt, which was very different from his previous gentle appearance.
"Tom, we all know it. There's no need to explain. It's better to leave me some freedom." Lamia said kindly, inadvertently brushing the dust off his shoulders.
Tom's eyes flickered, and he tilted his head to stare at Lamia's slender, white fingers. "Lamia, aren't you angry?"
Such a simple action made Tom doubt his judgment. He thought Lamia was just pretending to be agreeable and would settle the score with him when they reached the exit, but her behavior was completely different from what Tom expected.
Not only was Lamia not angry, she also comforted him attentively. Tom knew that his behavior was unforgivable. If it were someone else, he would be able to kill that person without Lamia's help, but if it were him, he would worry whether Lamia thought the same way.
"I'm not angry, Tom, you didn't mean it. I know you've been so nice to me, how could I get angry over such a small thing?" Lamia was always good at this. She had only learned this one life-saving method since she was a child, and fortunately it worked every time, and this time was no exception.
Tom was very touched. He didn't have the aura of the biggest villain in Hogwarts at all. His eyes were bright like stars.
Lamia smiled. Putting aside his recent capricious temper, her heart was moved by his appearance. It was just a dream. What was wrong with enjoying it? Later, when Lamia knew the truth, she wanted to rush in and slap herself awake. It is best not to touch wild flowers that should not be picked!
Later, Tom was very gentlemanly, just like Lamia who had just been resurrected by him, putting on a gentle skin, hugging her and serving her food, without any sense of oppression from a leader.
Lamia fell asleep in Tom's bed in a daze, and when she opened her eyes again, she returned to reality. It was already bright outside.
She looked around in confusion. The dream was so real that Lamia always forgot which one was the reality. The dream seemed to swallow her step by step and spit out another person.
Lamia stretched her body and found herself more tired than ever. The diary she had casually thrown aside last night was now lying quietly beside her pillow, emitting a faint glow. Lamia didn't care much about it. She changed her clothes and left the room.
She didn't notice that the moment the door closed, a faint, thin figure emerged from the diary. The face was exactly the same as Tom's, staring obsessively at the direction where Lamia last disappeared. "It's almost there, Lamia."
After Lamia left the room, she walked towards the Great Hall. She didn't need to eat, but after all, she hadn't been to the Great Hall since last night. Lamia didn't want to cause unnecessary trouble. Now she had paid the price for her previous gluttony - Draco and Harry kept pestering her.
"Lamia, good afternoon." Harry was playing with Ron. When Lamia came in, he greeted her happily.
"Good afternoon, Harry." Lamia was still sitting in her old seat, ignoring the looks around her. Over time, everyone got used to her being such an unconventional person.
But Draco obviously didn't think so. He took out a piece of gold paper from somewhere, flipped his fingers, and a lifelike paper crane flapped its wings and flew towards Lamia.
Draco tilted his head and looked in Lamia's direction with a smile on his face.
Lamia glanced at the paper cranes. They were very beautiful and exquisite. The only drawback might be that their owner was not very skilled. It seemed like it was the first time they succeeded, because the crane stopped halfway through its flight.
It was some distance away from Lamia, and before she could pick it up, Ron got there first. He quickly unfolded the paper cranes, glanced at them, and began to read them out in the most exaggerated and artificial tone.
"Oh, dear Miss Lamia Nocturne, you are so beautiful today that I can't find any adjectives to describe it. I can only kneel down to you sincerely."
Ron laughed and pushed Harry away, swallowing the last bite of his bacon sandwich. "Today's pumpkin juice is exceptionally delicious, but I don't think it's intoxicating enough to attract a single hair of yours. Would you be interested in having lunch with me?"
Ron retched a few times and said, "Malfoy, you are really disgusting. How dare you let others see what you wrote? If I were you, I would be hiding in my father's arms and crying." After saying that, he crumpled up the note in disgust and stuffed it into his arms.
There was a burst of laughter in the hall. Even Goyle, who was busy fighting with Crabbe for the last piece of pudding cake, couldn't help laughing. Of course, he was punched hard by Draco in the end.
"Nonsense, Weasley, that's not what I wrote." Draco jumped up in anger and tried to take back the note that Ron had snatched away.
Draco was furious at the laughter in the auditorium, but he was more afraid that Lamia would misunderstand him like them, which was what he least wanted to see.
But Ron had obviously expected him to do this, and he dodged first. Draco missed and chased after him angrily. Ron threw the note to Harry like a monkey, and the two of them teased Draco back and forth.
Lamia didn't believe what Ron read either. She felt that at least half of it was made up by Ron. At most, the invitation to her for lunch seemed real.
Lamia sighed and said that what should be paid must be paid.
"Draco, okay, I believe you."
