"Hermione, a wizard in Mr. Crouch's position cannot bear the responsibility if his house-elf runs wild with a wand!" Percy said proudly after returning to normal.

"She's not doing anything rogue!" cried Hermione. "She's just picked up her wand from the floor!"

"Okay, okay, can someone explain what that skeleton is?" Ron said impatiently. "It's not hurting anyone, why is everyone making such a fuss?"

"I'll tell you, it's You-Know-Who's symbol, Ron," Hermione answered before anyone else did. "I read about it in The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts."

"It's been thirteen years since we've seen it," said Mr. Weasley quietly. "People are naturally nervous. It's almost like seeing You-Know-Who all over again."

"I don't understand," said Ron, frowning. "I mean, after all, it's just a shadow in the air."

"Ron, every time You-Know-Who and his followers kill someone, they display the Dark Mark in the air," said Mr. Weasley. "The fear it brings—you don't know, you're still too young. Imagine returning home and finding the Dark Mark hovering over your house. You know what you'll see when you go in..." Mr. Weasley shuddered. "That's everyone's biggest fear—the greatest fear..."

Lamia could sense the fear in Mr. Weasley's words, but Ron still didn't understand. People who had never experienced death wouldn't understand.

Lamia's eyes were solemn as she thought of Tom. As time passed, her mood became heavier. It had been a long time since the appointment she and Tom had made, but Lamia still had not gone to the dream to keep the appointment.

She wanted to see to what extent this dream could constrain her, and then formulate her plan based on this so as to retain her freedom to the greatest extent possible.

No one spoke in the tent for a long time. Lamia, realizing this, looked around. Everyone had their eyes lowered and the atmosphere was tense for a moment.

Finally, Bill removed the sheet from his arm, examined the wound, and said, "Alas, whoever created this Mark has done us a disservice tonight. The Death Eaters took flight the moment they saw it, Apparating away before we could get close enough to remove the masks from their faces. However, we managed to catch the Roberts family and prevent them from falling to the ground, and now their memories are being altered."

"Death Eaters?" Harry asked. "What are Death Eaters?"

"They are the mysterious man's subordinates and his followers." Lamia said.

"Yes, that's what You-Know-Who's followers call themselves," Bill said, glancing at Lamia in surprise. "I think we saw the remnants of their kind tonight—they somehow escaped and weren't imprisoned in Azkaban."

"We can't prove it was them, Bill," said Mr. Weasley. "But it's very possible," he said helplessly.

"Yeah, I guess so!" said Ron suddenly. "Dad, we met Draco Malfoy in the woods, and he actually pretty much told us his dad was one of those masked lunatics! We all know the Malfoys used to have a thing for You-Know-Who!"

"But Voldemort's followers—" said Harry. A shudder ran through everyone—the Weasleys, like most of the wizarding world, had always avoided uttering Voldemort's name. "Excuse me," said Harry quickly, "what do You-Know-Who's followers want to do, leave Muggles hanging in the air? I mean, what's the point?"

"Meaning?" said Mr. Weasley with a dry laugh. "That's their way of having fun, Harry. Back when You-Know-Who was on the rise, they killed half the Muggles just for fun. I suppose they've had a few too many drinks tonight and thought they'd remind us there are still plenty of them out there. They're having a nice little party," he said with disgust.

"How disgusting," Lamia said coldly, recalling her own experience.

"It is indeed abominable," Mr. Weasley nodded in agreement.

"But if they were Death Eaters, why did they Disapparate the moment they saw the Dark Mark?" asked Ron. "They should be happy to see it, right?"

"Think about it, Ron," said Bill, "if they really were Death Eaters, and You-Know-Who fell from power, they would have done everything they could to avoid being sent to Azkaban, and would have made up all sorts of lies, saying it was You-Know-Who who forced them to kill and torture people.

I bet they're more afraid of him coming back than the rest of us. After You-Know-Who fell, they denied any connection to him and went back to their normal lives... I don't think You-Know-Who would be very happy with them, would you?

"So... whoever conjured the Dark Mark..." Hermione said slowly, "was it to show support for the Death Eaters, or to scare them away?"

Hermione's question caused everyone to fall silent again. Mr. Weasley sighed, "You're right, Hermione, but only Death Eaters can conjure up the Dark Mark. I'm sure that person must have been a Death Eater at least before."

Mr. Weasley looked at his watch and saw it was already three in the morning. He waved to the children:

"Listen, it's getting late. If your mother heard about this, she would be worried sick. Let's get a few hours of sleep, then get the portkey and get out of here."

Afterwards, Lamia returned to their tent with Ginny and Hermione, but none of the girls fell asleep. They all lay in bed with their thoughts on their minds.

Lamia was still hesitating. Maybe she should go there. It would be better to calm Tom down first and prevent him from finding ways to come to reality.

But Lamia really didn't want to go back to that suffocating environment.

After struggling for a long time, Lamia finally made up her mind that she had to go there.

But when she tried to enter the dream to look for Tom, she found herself opening her eyes to see Hermione calling her to get up.

She was rejected.

Lamia then realized that she had not entered the dream, and Tom would not allow her to go back.

Lamia's mood was very complicated. On the one hand, she felt relieved that she had finally gotten rid of Tom temporarily, but on the other hand, she was worried about the future.
