"Did you see it wrong? How could it be..." Lamia was a little confused, but out of caution, she didn't finish her words.

Tom remained noncommittal, holding the crystal ball up so Lamia could see its contents clearly.

As her gaze moved, Lamia clearly saw the clear handwriting in the prophecy crystal ball:

"A boy born at the end of August,

The Dark Lord would see him as a formidable enemy.

Only one of the two can survive.”

Then all the words merged completely and eventually turned into a black mass, making it difficult to distinguish any letters.

"I don't know what was in here before, so—" Lamia looked away, moving to the side, "—I can't be sure its contents have changed."

"Even if it disappears, it won't make a difference. My career won't change because of a small prophecy, not to mention that it only delays the boy's birth date by a month." Tom turned around and hugged Lamia in his arms.

Lamia was also confused now. The prophecy in the crystal ball was different from what she saw. Dumbledore was simply too unreliable.

But she couldn't say too much, so as not to let Tom think that she cared much about the boy in the crystal ball.

"Then how are you going to deal with this prophecy?" Lamia thought about it and decided to test Tom's attitude.

"If we can't all survive, I'll kill him." Tom curled his lips cruelly, revealing a mouthful of inhuman fangs.

"But many babies will be born at the end of August. What if we can't be sure?" Lamia was shocked, but quickly suppressed it. She had known for a long time that Tom would not let go of the powerful enemy in the prophecy, even if he disdained to believe it.

"Then kill them all." Tom's tone was calm as if he was talking about something very ordinary.

"Why, do you think it's too cruel, Lamia?" Tom turned his head and stared at Lamia with a pair of eyes as bottomless as the abyss, as if the abyss would swallow her completely if she showed any resistance.

"No, Tom, anyone who stands in your way shall die." Lamia obeyed Tom's wishes, and sure enough, his joyful laughter soon rang out in the house.

Lamia didn't stay with Tom for too long. He was always busy, with wave after wave of Death Eaters waiting for their master's reward.

Therefore, Lamia was allowed to wander around Malfoy Manor. She found a corner where no one was and looked at the countdown on the panel which showed less than 2 days left. She could only beg Tom to have more things to do so that he would not have time to deal with that powerful rival.

Lamia was trapped in this manor. She had done everything she could and now could only rely on Dumbledore and Mushroom outside.

For the next two days, Lamia stayed in her room, waiting for the final moment. As time passed, her anxiety grew stronger.

Especially in the last 30 minutes, it was difficult for Lamia to calm down, simply because Tom went out with a large group of Death Eaters today, and it was the first time he didn't bring her with him.

Suffering from being isolated, Lamia couldn't get any useful information. She didn't even know whether Harry was already a full moon.

But what is past will eventually pass.

The countdown entered its final moment, and when the last number was completely cleared to zero, the mechanical sound of the system followed.

[Congratulations to the host for completing the first rescue mission, restoring the teleportation function, and rewarding the original book plot line (the host can choose the time point at will)]

Lamia didn't know if it was an illusion, but she always felt that the system's voice sounded happier than her, but she still breathed a sigh of relief. She finally completed the task. As for what happened next, she couldn't care less.

If Lamia had to say the only thing she was worried about, she could only think of that cunning Mushroom. Since he left last time, Mushroom had never sent back any news. Lamia guessed that he had gone back.

But no matter what, Lamia couldn't stay here because of him.

"I don't want to choose. I want to be teleported back first." Lamia would not take the risk. Tom might come back at any time. If he found out that she had slipped away, and she was really sent back one day, she would be in trouble.

[Received, transmitting...]

"Hey, wait a minute." Lamia interrupted the system urgently. She thought of a better way. She wanted to create the appearance that she was kidnapped. If so, when she came back next time, Tom might not think that she had slipped away by herself. This would be beneficial for her to complete the mission.

【Transmission Paused】

Lamia created signs of a fight in the room, and to make it more realistic, she even scratched her arm. Drops of blood fell on the carpet, leaving a red mark.

Lamia left a note for help before letting the system send her back. Although the kidnapping script was too crude, based on her understanding of Tom, he would definitely be suspicious.

But Lamia didn't want him to believe her completely. She just wanted to leave herself a way to explain herself when she came next time. At least she wouldn't be arrested without even saying a word when they met.

The system worked so quickly that Lamia didn't even feel like a second had passed before she was back in her original room in Diagon Alley.

Lamia sat up and walked around the room. The decorations around her were covered with a layer of dust and looked like they had been there for a long time.

"System, won't the time in reality stop?" Lamia frowned. She didn't expect that the time in the dream would be synchronized with the reality. The longer she stayed in the dream, the longer it would pass in reality.

[Host, it has always been like this]

Lamia couldn't believe it, but she soon remembered that her previous dream was too short so she ignored the connection between the two.
