Chapter 11 Confinement Room
Neville was covered in scabies medicine and was screaming in pain.
"Stupid Gryffindor!" Snape shouted angrily, sweeping up the potion on the ground. "Take him to the ward upstairs." He frowned, shook his robe, and pushed Seamus who was standing there in a daze.
Silence returned to the classroom. "Savior Potter, did you just watch your classmate put porcupine quills into the cauldron? And Miss Nocturne, why didn't you remind him?" His sinister eyes kept scanning Harry and Lamia. "Because of your selfishness, Gryffindor and Slytherin will each be deducted one point."
Harry was really angry now. He raised his red face and said, "That's not fair. Lamia is standing so far away from Neville."
"Potter, do you think your poor old professor is too old to see clearly? Or do you think the professorship should be given to a fair savior?" Snape looked straight at Harry, the cold light in his eyes seemed to become reality.
"No, I mean Lamia shouldn't be involved," Harry trailed off as Ron kept tugging at his sleeve.
"Very well, Harry Potter, Lamia Nocturne, come to my office for detention at 8 o'clock tonight. I'm sure two buckets of slugs will be more effective than my words."
Lamia was still standing motionless beside the podium. She could actually cast a spell to save Neville. In fact, many spells flashed through her mind at the moment when it happened. But why did she want to save a human being, and a stupid fat man at that? She wanted to watch the show more.
As for Snape's punishment, Lamia accepted it easily. It was just two buckets of slugs. She had seen more disgusting things than that.
After class, Lamia walked towards the common room, "Lamia, why are you helping Potter? Slytherin won't lose points if you don't join him." Draco jumped out from the side and blocked her way.
"Draco, you don't have to hate Harry so much. He did nothing wrong." Lamia stopped, and her eyes, as calm as a pool of stagnant water, seemed to hurt Draco even more.
"You've changed, Lamia. You weren't like this before." Draco was irritated by Lamia's attitude, tears flashed in his gray eyes. "That's fine, do you think I will beg you? The Malfoy family will never lack friends!" As a proud Malfoy, he became like a humble house-elf in front of Lamia. He could not accept himself like this.
"Lamia, you will regret this." Draco finally said the harsh words. He turned around decisively and quickly, but he couldn't take a step forward.
"I will forgive you if you apologize to me and promise to stay away from Harry." His voice was as weak as a mosquito, looming and as if it would disappear at any time.
Lamia behind him had hearing far superior to that of a human. She heard it, but just raised her eyelids, and looked at Draco mockingly with her bright red eyes. She didn't intend to answer, and turned and walked in another direction. Her silver hair trembled slightly with her movement, and after a brief intersection with the platinum hair, it returned to being strange.
At 8 o'clock in the evening, Lamia appeared at the door of Snape's office on time. Just as she was about to knock on the door, a pair of hands suddenly pulled her into the darkness next to it.
"Lamia, are you angry?" Lamia felt his palms were full of sweat. "No, Harry, it's nothing."
It was just the ridicule of the Slytherin snakes. Ever since Draco was left behind, the snakes in the lounge seemed to have gotten permission. They went from ignoring her to mocking her whenever they met. Lamia didn't care at all. Their mockery was like ants attacking an elephant, which only made her feel ridiculous.
"What? Do you want your old professor to come outside the door to invite you in?" Snape's voice suddenly sounded from inside the door. Harry was so startled that he almost jumped up.
Compared to him, Lamia was much calmer. She raised her hand and knocked on the door. "Professor, can we come in?"
"Come in."
The cellar was damp and cold, and Harry shivered several times when he went in. Lamia seemed not to feel anything and just stood aside waiting for Snape to speak.
"Mr. Potter, you have suffered so much. Do you want me to give you a heater?" Snape looked unhappy when he saw Harry.
"Professor, I think we can start now." Lamia interrupted Snape's long speech. She hadn't had her "dinner" yet and didn't want to stay here all the time.
"Nockturn, since you are so anxious, why don't you stay a few more hours with your poor old professor?" Snape turned his attention to Lamia.
She guessed that Snape must be targeting her because of Harry. Sure enough, nothing good would happen when staying with the savior, except for eating.
"No thanks, Professor." Lamia still had a decent smile on her face, even though she cursed Snape many times in her heart.
"That's fine. The slug is right there. You can leave when you've dealt with it." After saying that, Snape buried his head in correcting homework.
Lamia put on gloves and picked up a slippery slug with an expressionless face and started to handle it. Harry on the side was stunned and he didn't dare to do it at all.
At this time, there was another knock on the door.
Harry and Lamia were both stunned and looked at each other. They didn't expect anyone to come to Snape's office so late.
"Are you waiting for me to open the door?" Snape's voice came from the pile of homework books.
Lamia quickly took off her gloves, walked to the door and opened it.
"Nockturn, it's so late, do you want to stay here with Harry forever?" Draco's tone was awkward, like a wife in a cold war with her husband, with deliberate stiffness.
"Draco? What are you doing here?" Snape raised his head from his homework and saw the platinum-haired girl at the door.
"Professor, I have a question about potions that I want to ask you." Draco lied without changing his expression. "I don't know how I can improve the scabies potion I made today." He made up an excuse.
"Draco, I see you've been stunned by the troll. You're asking me such a simple question?" Snape didn't expect his favorite student to say such a thing. He had no intention of explaining. "It seems your knowledge of potions isn't enough. Draco, you'll stay here with them and be in detention."
Snape spoke sternly and drew an F on the homework book of a poor guy.
"Okay, Professor." Draco said in a low voice, but the corners of his mouth couldn't help but rise.
"You haven't started yet. Do you want to stay here all night, Nocturne?" Lamia was startled by Snape's sudden shout. She quickly came to her senses and concentrated on dealing with the slug.
After Draco put on his gloves, he inserted himself between the two of them, and Harry was pushed aside. "Draco, what are you doing!" he said angrily.
"Potter, even the savior can't control where I stand." He smiled triumphantly, as if he had achieved a great victory.
Harry glanced at Lamia and angrily dealt with the slug. He would not fall for Malfoy's trick. Lamia hated noisy people the most.
After an unknown amount of time, Lamia felt her hands were sore, and the bucket of slugs was finally empty. Draco and Harry beside her were dozing off, but there was still a pile of slugs in the bucket.
"Okay, that's all for today. Potter and Malfoy will continue tomorrow." Snape's voice woke Harry and Draco like lightning.
"What about Lamia?" Draco asked quietly.
"She's finished dealing with it. She doesn't need to come tomorrow." Snape explained for the first time tonight.
After the three of them left Snape's office, Lamia was surrounded by the two of them.
"What are you doing?" Lamia tried several times but was blocked every time, feeling helpless.
"Who are you looking for tonight? Tell me clearly!" The two voices sounded almost at the same time.
"Don't worry, I will satisfy you all."
