The south of the Yangtze River was shrouded in mist and rain, and there were few pedestrians on the streets.

In an inn, groups of people were having meals. A young man in extraordinary attire walked into the inn, attracting a lot of attention.

After the young master booked a superior room for three days and gave him a tael of silver as a reward, he became even more flattering.

It was already midnight and the inn was silent. A few wisps of white smoke drifted into the young master's room. A quarter of an hour later, a few furtive people came in. In less than three breaths, the room was empty.

When he woke up in the morning, the waiter told the shopkeeper with a look of regret and surprise that the rich young man had some urgent business that made him leave the shop before dawn. The shopkeeper guessed that he might have important business that made him leave in such a hurry. There were already three people having breakfast in the shop. After listening carefully, he found that there was no gossip and no longer paid attention to the rich young man.

There was a cellar under the inn, and the waiter brought down some food.

"Girl, you'd better eat something, otherwise you will starve to death!" said the waiter with a smile, with a hint of contempt in his laughter.

The woman still in men's clothing looked up, spitted, and said angrily, "What a shady shop! Who knows if the food you eat is poisonous?"

The waiter wasn't angry. He put the food aside, squatted down, looked at the embarrassed girl, and advised: "Young lady, you should tell us your identity so that we can send a letter to ask for a ransom. Seeing her fear, the waiter comforted her, "Don't be afraid. We still abide by the code of conduct. As long as the money is in place, everything will be fine. Miss, you are generous. This bushel of rice only costs five cents. The reward you gave me is one or two ounces. An ordinary family can survive for half a year if they save a little. The woman was not comforted at all. She only felt that she was extremely unlucky.
