The tranquility of the teahouse was shattered. On the way back home, a murderous aura suddenly filled the air. A group of men in black emerged from the woods beside the road like ghosts, their blades flashing coldly as they charged towards Teng Junze. Teng Junze reacted quickly, unsheathing his sword. The clang of metal clashing echoed through the forest. Fan Mengmeng, frightened by this sudden turn of events, turned pale and clutched her sleeve, bewildered.

I had expected a fierce fight, but in a split second, Teng Junze groaned as his abdomen was slashed by a sharp blade, his clothes instantly stained red with blood. The assassin, having succeeded, quickly fled into the forest and disappeared.

Normally, Xiaofu should have panicked and rushed to the doctor, while Fan Mengmeng should have waited anxiously. However, Fan Mengmeng acted out of character. She didn't scream or cry, but rushed directly to Teng Junze's side.

"What are you standing there for! Go find a clean cloth and some water!" She said in a hurried tone, leaving no room for doubt. Xiaofu was taken aback by her sudden order, but he still obeyed subconsciously.

Fan Mengmeng ignored everything else and pressed on Teng Junze's wound with her trembling hands, trying to stop the bleeding. Her movements were a little clumsy, but she was incredibly firm.

This scene left Xiaofu and the assassin who had managed to escape dumbfounded. This seemingly fragile woman, at this moment, displayed such astonishing calmness and decisiveness.

Clean cloth and water were quickly brought to her. Fan Mengmeng expertly cleaned the wound and bandaged it tightly. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead, but she didn't dare to relax.

Teng Junze looked at her focused expression, his eyes filled with complex emotions: surprise, confusion, and... a subtle touch of emotion.

"You..." He wanted to speak, but felt dizzy due to excessive blood loss.

Fan Mengmeng looked up and looked him in the eyes firmly, "Don't talk, it will make the injury worse."

She supported him, her tone unquestionable: "Xiaofu, hurry up, find a safe place..."

Xiaofu carried Teng Junze on his back and, under Fan Mengmeng's guidance, stumbled to a secluded cave. Teng Junze's face grew paler, and his breathing became more rapid. Fan Mengmeng anxiously tore off the remaining strips of cloth and reinforced the bandage.

"He's lost too much blood and needs treatment as soon as possible." Fan Mengmeng's voice trembled slightly. She looked up at Xiaofu and asked, "Is there a doctor here?"

Xiaofu's face was filled with worry, and his tone was tearful: "Miss, where can we find a doctor in this remote place? Young Master... Young Master, will he..."

He didn't dare to say anything more, choking and wiping away tears. A rustling sound came from the distant woods, and a man in black reappeared, his eyes flashing with a fierce light. He hadn't expected the assassination to fail, and Teng Junze was still alive!

"You're not dead yet! Then give him another blow!" The man in black grinned, raised the sharp blade in his hand again, and approached the direction of the cave.

Xiaofu turned pale with fear, trembling as he pointed at the man in black, unable to utter a word. Fan Mengmeng's heart pounded, but she forced herself to calm down. She knew clearly that if Teng Junze was injured again, his life would be in danger.

The man in black was approaching step by step, and was about to rush to the entrance of the cave. Fan Mengmeng took a deep breath and suddenly stood in front of Teng Junze.

"Don't hurt him!" Her voice was not loud, but extremely firm.

The man in black was startled by her action, then sneered sarcastically, "You overestimate your own abilities!" He raised the sharp blade high in his hand, and just as it was about to fall, Teng Junze suddenly opened his eyes and pushed Fan Mengmeng away...

Teng Junze, choking back the pain, swung his sword to block. The blades clashed, sending out dazzling sparks. He groaned, blood streaming down his arm, staining his shirt red. The man in black took a step back, startled by this sudden counterattack, a flicker of surprise in his eyes. He had never imagined that even the severely wounded Teng Junze could still possess such immense strength.

"Young Master!" Xiaofu exclaimed, wanting to step forward to help, but Teng Junze shouted at him, "Stand back!"

Teng Junze's eyes were sharp as he stared at the man in black, swinging his sword again. The man in black clearly felt the pressure and struggled to defend himself. He cursed inwardly, not expecting Teng Junze to be so difficult. It looked like he wouldn't succeed today. He feinted a move, turned, and fled.

Teng Junze wanted to chase him, but due to excessive blood loss, his vision went black, his body swayed, and he almost fell. Fan Mengmeng was quick to catch him. "How are you?" she asked anxiously.

Teng Junze managed to steady himself. Looking at the worried Fan Mengmeng in front of him, a warm feeling welled up in his heart. He gently held her in his arms and whispered, "I'm fine. Thank you."

Back at the mansion, Teng Junze's attitude had indeed changed. No longer as aloof as before, he now showed genuine concern and care for Fan Mengmeng. Xiaofu was genuinely happy for the improved relationship between the two, occasionally joking around and creating a harmonious atmosphere.

One day, Teng Junze looked at Fan Mengmeng with a deep gaze: "Mengmeng, what reward do you want?"

Fan Mengmeng's mind stirred, and a bold idea spontaneously emerged. "I want to..." She paused, a hint of anticipation in her eyes, "I want to visit the mansion's storeroom."

Teng Junze was slightly stunned, then smiled brightly: "Okay!"

Fan Mengmeng was thrilled to receive permission and couldn't wait to follow the old butler to the storeroom. However, the look in his eyes made her feel uneasy. His cloudy gaze seemed to conceal a secret that sent shivers down her spine. The butler pushed open the heavy wooden door, letting out a long, drawn-out creak...
