Slaying God: I, the insane and witty god
Chapter 58: Danger in the wilderness, searching for the truth
"That old guy Hades is finished, but why is this mess not over yet?" Wu Hen scratched his head, feeling that something was wrong.
Although the haze over the divine realm had dissipated and the sun was shining on the earth again, an inexplicable uneasiness lingered in his heart and could not be shaken off.
"No, we have to go to the source of this broken place." Wu Hen decided to trust his intuition.
He vaguely remembered that Hades seemed to have said before that this dark power emerged from a cursed wasteland.
When we arrived at the edge of the wilderness, a cold air hit us in the face. The fog was so thick that we couldn't see our hands in front of us.
"This atmosphere is definitely like the beginning of a horror movie!" Wu Hen couldn't help but complain, but he still walked in.
There was dead silence all around, only his own footsteps echoing in the thick fog.
He moved forward cautiously, afraid of missing any clues.
"Oh shit!" Wu Hen suddenly screamed, his foot stepped on empty air, and his body fell rapidly.
It turned out that he accidentally touched the quicksand trap in the wilderness!
"Help! I'm going to be eaten alive!" Wu Hen struggled desperately, trying to grab something, but there was nothing around him except quicksand.
He closed his eyes in despair, waiting for his fate to come...
"Don't panic, hold on tight!"
A voice came from above.
At the critical moment, a strong arm grabbed Wu Hen's wrist and pulled him out of the clutches of the quicksand.
"Oh my god, I was scared to death! I thought I was going to die here!" Wu Hen patted his chest in shock. When he turned around, he saw Hephaestus standing behind him with a serious face.
"Boy, be careful next time and don't always ask me to save you." Hephaestus said unhappily, but there was a hint of imperceptible concern in his tone.
"Hehe, you're here," Wu Hen said with a smile, completely ignoring Hephaestus's dark face.
"Stop talking nonsense and get down to business," Hephaestus urged.
"Okay, okay, I'll be right there." Wu Hen put away his playful smile and began to observe the surrounding environment carefully.
He squatted down, grabbed a handful of quicksand and looked at it carefully.
"There's something wrong with this sand."
"What's wrong?" Hephaestus asked.
"I can't explain it, it's just a feeling..." Wu Hen paused, and suddenly seemed to think of something. He raised his head and looked forward, "Let's go, let's go forward!"
They continued to go deeper into the wilderness. The fog around them became thicker and thicker, and visibility was extremely low.
Wu Hen suddenly stopped and Hephaestus looked at him in confusion.
"Shh, don't talk." Wu Hen made a gesture to silence the crowd and pointed forward.
Hephaestus looked in the direction of Wu Hen's finger, and saw a few vaguely swaying figures in the thick fog...
"What the hell is this?" Wu Hen looked at the swaying figures in the thick fog and couldn't help but swear.
Those figures were twisted and weird, like monsters out of a horror movie, staggering towards them.
"It's the guardian of the wasteland, a poor creature bewitched by the power of darkness." Hephaestus said in a deep voice, the hammer in his hand burning with flames, ready to fight at any time.
Before he could finish his words, the monsters rushed over with roars!
Their eyes were red, their fangs were bared, and they had completely lost their minds, with only a bloodthirsty desire for living things left.
"Come on!" Wu Hen was not afraid at all. Instead, he licked his lips excitedly.
He loves challenges the most, especially when his opponents are a group of strange monsters.
He flashed and moved among the monsters like a ghost, playing with these slow-moving guys.
"That's it? I thought you were so powerful, but it turns out you're just a loser in a group fight!" Wu Hen dodged the monsters' attacks while making a few sarcastic remarks.
However, the number of monsters was too great, and they soon surrounded him, leaving him with no escape.
"Hahaha, let's see where you can run now!" A huge monster opened its bloody mouth and bit towards Wu Hen.
"A mere trifle!" Wu Hen sneered, and suddenly a long sword emitting dazzling light appeared in his hand.
This is exactly the artifact he obtained from the treasure of God - the Star-Slaying!
"Break it for me!" Wu Hen roared, waving the Star-Slaying Sword. A sharp sword energy swept out, instantly knocking the surrounding monsters away.
The monsters screamed and fell heavily to the ground. They struggled to get up, but found that they had lost the ability to move.
"So powerful!" Hephaestus was stunned watching from the side. It was the first time he saw Wu Hen using this weapon. Its power was far beyond his imagination.
"No big deal, no big deal." Wu Hen proudly swung the Star-Slaying Sword in his hand. However, before he could be happy for long, the knocked-down monsters actually stood up again, and there were more of them than before!
"Oh my god, is this never going to end?" Wu Hen couldn't help but complain.
At this moment, a gentle voice came from the sky: "Wu Hen, I'm here to help you!"
I saw Nuwa, the goddess, wearing colorful clothes, descending from the sky.
She waved her jade hand lightly, and a golden light flashed, trapping some of the monsters in place.
"Thank you, Goddess Nuwa!" Wu Hen looked at Nuwa gratefully, then seized the opportunity, wielded the Star-Slashing Sword, and used all his strength to launch a violent attack on the monsters.
Finally, under the joint attack of Wu Hen and Nuwa, the monsters fell one after another and eventually lost their life force completely.
"Huh...it's finally solved." Wu Hen breathed a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"These monsters are just puppets controlled by dark forces. The real mastermind has not been found yet." Nuwa said solemnly.
"I know." Wu Hen nodded. He looked around and found that there seemed to be something in the depths of the wilderness that was attracting him.
He took a step forward and walked towards that direction, followed closely by Hephaestus and Nuwa.
After walking for a while, Wu Hen suddenly stopped and his eyes fell on a strange rune mark on the ground in front of him.
This mark seemed familiar to him, exactly the same as the one he had seen in the Divine Prison before!
"This..." Wu Hen frowned, and an ominous premonition came to his mind.
"What's wrong?" Hephaestus asked.
"Down here..." Wu Hen took a deep breath, "There might be something we want."
