Slaying God: I, the insane and witty god

Chapter 1184: Unable to get through via telephone; this high-level game is about to turn into a lose

The room was dark, as dark as a coffin, with no lights on.

Lin Qiye sat on the hard edge of the bed, the specially made encrypted communicator in his hand flashing red for the fifth time.

"Zi...ZiZi..."

Apart from a buzzing sound like an electric current running through your scalp, you can't hear a single human voice.

Still no movement?

Wu Hen leaned against the shadows by the window, toying with the coin in his hand, his tone revealing no emotion.

But Lin Qiye could feel that this guy's muscles were much tighter than before.

"It's all snow-like sound."

Lin Qiye gripped the communicator tightly in his hand, his knuckles turning slightly white from the force.

"The frequency band over Daxia is completely dead, and even the backup line is down."

"That's interesting."

Wu Hen chuckled, flicked his finger, and the coin flew high into the air before falling back down.

"You know Lao Zuo, he's like an abacus bead, he plans three steps ahead for every one step he takes."

"Going into Asgard is a life-or-death job for us,"

"Logically, he should at least give a 'peace' every half hour, even if he were typing Morse code."

Lin Qiye didn't reply, but took a deep breath, feeling as if he had inhaled a handful of ice shards.

Wu Hen is right.

Zuo Qing, that old fox, is frighteningly cautious.

If it's a communication equipment malfunction, Daxia will have at least three emergency plans.

This complete "dead silence" can only mean one thing—

The problem lies at the source.

"Either the Great Xia headquarters was destroyed, or our signal was physically cut off by those Asgardian gods."

Lin Qiye's voice was low and carried a chill.

"If it were the latter, it would be easier to deal with; at most, we would be like turtles in a jar."

Wu Hen tilted his head, and the eerie cloud of smoke known as "Number 27" slid down his trouser leg.

Like a black dog that was the only one they could trust at that moment.

It slipped silently through the crack in the door and wandered around the now empty corridor.

A moment later, the smoke and haze receded back to Wu Hen's feet.

"The surroundings were clean, and there were no 'eyes' with divine power staring at us."

Wu Hen glanced at the haze on the ground, a self-deprecating smile curving his lips.

"Looks like we haven't been exposed yet; at least no one's taking us seriously."

Lin Qiye threw the communicator back into the void pod, and the feeling of loneliness, of being abandoned by the world, crept up his spine little by little.

This feels absolutely awful.

It's like you charging into enemy territory with a fully equipped rifle.

Just as you're about to wreak havoc, you turn around and see that the supply truck that's delivering your bullets has exploded.

Lone wolf.

Now he's truly a lone wolf.

“Our original plan was to find out Thor’s background, and then I would open the ‘Rainbow Bridge’,”

"Bring over the Night's Watch from Great Xia, and launch a full-scale attack on Asgard."

Lin Qiye rubbed his temples, speaking very quickly.

"But now, if the Great Xia can't receive the signal, or if no one can come at all..."

"Then if you open this bridge, it won't be to bring in reinforcements, it'll be to deliver takeout to Saul."

Wu Hen handled the situation smoothly, directly laying out the worst possible outcome.

"With this door open, the two of us will be facing the entire Asgardian pantheon."

"Don't count on that Monkey King either; he's probably catching up with some deity right now."

The room fell into deathly silence.

Lin Qiye felt his palms were covered in cold sweat, sticky and clammy.

To open or not to open?

If they don't open fire, they'll just have to watch Asgard finish preparing for war and sacrifice humans like pigs and dogs.

If we open it, we must be prepared for the two of us to have our ashes scattered by thousands of gods.

Reason told him that he should play it safe at this point.

But as soon as I close my eyes, all I can see is that medical record.

And there are Bragi's eyes, eyes that would do anything to save his lover.

"Damn it." Lin Qiye cursed under his breath.

Why is it so hard to be a smart person in this world?

"Don't worry about it."

Wu Hen suddenly stood up straight, his previously nonchalant gaze instantly turning as sharp as a knife.

Sometimes, that's just fate.

"If God doesn't let you win when things are going your way, you have to learn how to turn the tide when things are going your way."

Just as Lin Qiye was about to speak, his ears twitched suddenly.

The intuition he had honed over the years on the brink of life and death made the hairs on his body stand on end.

It wasn't the wind.

Footsteps could be heard at the end of the corridor.

It was very light, as light as a cat stepping on cotton, but every step was extremely steady, exuding an undisguised sense of pressure.

"somebody is coming."

Wu Hen's voice was extremely low, a warning squeezed out from between his teeth.

Lin Qiye almost subconsciously cut off the faint standby current of the communicator.

He was like a fully drawn bow, staring intently at the tightly closed door.

The footsteps grew closer.

step.

Two steps.

Finally, it stopped in front of their door.

The feeling was like Death himself, with his scythe, politely adjusting his tie outside the door.

Boom, boom, boom.

Three soft knocks, echoing like thunder in the deathly silence of the darkness.
