Slaying God: I, the insane and witty god
Chapter 1040 Pixel Giant Cannon Unleashes Deadly Intent from the Mist
The eerie rotation lasted only a moment before returning to deathly silence.
The illusion receded like the tide, and the blood rain, ruins, boy, and doll all vanished without a trace.
Outside the window was still the familiar courtyard of the mental hospital, the afterglow of the setting sun spilling onto the lawn, as if nothing had happened.
But Lin Qiye and Wu Hen knew that it was not an illusion.
That was a warning.
In the early morning, the sea breeze, carrying a salty and damp scent, swept across the deck of the luxury cruise ship.
Lin Qiye leaned back in his recliner and lazily sipped his coffee.
"Damn it, I have to say, those bastards from the Shangxie Society really know how to enjoy life. The coffee beans on this ship are better than the ones in my office."
He smacked his lips, looking quite content.
Wu Hen stood beside him, hands in his pockets, his gaze sweeping across the boundless blue sea like radar, without the slightest relaxation.
"You're out on a mission, not here for a vacation."
"Life is short, so let's enjoy it while we can," Lin Qiye yawned.
"Besides, aren't you keeping an eye on things? You'll be the first to call if anything happens."
Wu Hen's gaze suddenly fixed on the sea horizon to the northeast, and his brows furrowed almost imperceptibly.
"Then let it bark."
Lin Qiye's expression changed instantly; his lazy demeanor vanished, and his eyes sharpened.
He sat up straight, his gaze also fixed on the distance.
"How far?"
“About twenty kilometers.” Wu Hen’s tone was frighteningly calm. “Two huge things are approaching at high speed, and their target is us.”
Lin Qiye lightly tapped the coffee cup with his fingertip, and invisible spiritual power spread out like a spider web, causing Jiang Er on his wrist to flicker.
"Jiang'er, scan northeast, depth 20 kilometers."
[Command received.]
[Scanning in progress... Two high-energy reaction targets detected.]
[Target A, Energy Level Assessment: 'Klein' Class.]
[Target B, energy level assessment: 'Limitless' level.]
Threat assessment: Extremely high. Expected contact with this ship within seven minutes.
Lin Qiye's face darkened.
"Damn, what a great start!" he muttered under his breath.
"One is 'Klein,' and the other is 'Boundless.' Are they treating us like a buffet?"
"Notify the people on the ship," Wu Hen said succinctly.
The two exchanged a glance, said no more, and strode toward the bridge control room.
Inside the command center, a tall, African American female member was methodically coordinating the flight path.
When the two entered, she simply nodded politely.
"We're in trouble." Lin Qiye got straight to the point.
"Twenty kilometers to the northeast, two 'mysteries'."
"One Klein, one boundless."
The female member paused, looked up, and her dark eyes showed no panic, only a calm desire to verify.
"Sure?"
"Which do you believe, my brain or his eyes?" Lin Qiye pointed to himself, then to Wu Hen.
The female member immediately turned to the control panel, her fingers flying across the virtual screen.
A few seconds later, two glaring red signal sources appeared on the main screen.
The data next to him was refreshing rapidly, and it was exactly the same as what Lin Qiye had said.
"Energy signal confirmed, hostility assessed... highest level."
She took a deep breath, her expression turning serious.
"They were drawn to the ship's energy core."
Without wasting any time, she immediately picked up the communicator and calmly issued instructions.
"Attention all crew members! This is not a drill! Repeat, this is not a drill!"
"Red alert! All personnel must immediately evacuate the deck and outer areas to the interior safe zone! Defense systems... activated!"
"Om-"
A deep hum echoed throughout the entire cruise ship, and the soft white light was instantly replaced by a blinding red warning light.
The members of the Shangxie Society, who were originally enjoying the sunshine on the deck, showed no signs of panic.
They evacuated with extremely high efficiency; the entire process was quiet and swift.
Lin Qiye and Wu Hen stood in front of the observation window of the command room, watching the sudden changes in the situation outside.
A thick sea fog appeared out of nowhere and almost instantly swallowed the cruise ship, reducing visibility to less than ten meters.
Those two enormous and malevolent auras loomed in and out of the mist, pressing down on people and making it hard to breathe.
"Didn't the Shangxie Society make any preparations?" Lin Qiye curled his lip, like a hooligan who loved watching a good show.
No sooner had he finished speaking than a loud metallic scraping sound came from the deck beneath his feet.
"Click! Click! Click!"
The deck at the front of the cruise ship split open like the gaping maw of a giant beast, and three enormous, incongruous cannon barrels slowly rose.
The cannon barrel had an extremely bizarre shape, consisting entirely of countless cubes of varying sizes.
It looks like a toy pieced together from pixels, with an unstable shimmering light on its surface.
"Holy crap, a Lego cannon?" Lin Qiye was stunned. "When did your Upper Evil Society's taste become so childish?"
“'Pixel' series weapons, experimental model,” Wu Hen explained casually.
"The principle is to perform a data-level formatting attack on the target; simply put, it's deletion."
Just then, a man wearing gold-rimmed glasses,
A refined-looking young man walked up to them; he was none other than An Qingyu, the technical genius of the Shangxie Society.
He adjusted his glasses and looked at the three pixelated giant cannons with great interest.
"Theoretically, they should be deleted, but due to the conservation of energy, their basic information data will still be captured briefly."
"Truly a masterpiece..."
The pixels at the top of the cannon barrel began to flash wildly, converging into two dazzling crimson orbs of light.
"Target locked!" The female member's voice was as cold as iron in the command room.
"Fire!"
There was no earth-shattering noise, only two strange "humming" sounds.
Two thick beams of crimson light tore through the mist, instantly traversing a distance of several kilometers.
It accurately hit the two enormous, barely visible silhouettes in the fog.
The moment the beam of light struck the target, a bizarre scene unfolded.
Those two "mysterious" creatures, each as large as a mountain, did not explode, did not howl, and did not even shed a drop of blood.
Their bodies, starting from the point of impact, rapidly...
It was “pixelated,” broken down into billions of tiny colored blocks, then flickered twice like a picture with a poor signal, and disappeared completely from the world.
The whole process took less than three seconds.
The fog dissipated, and the sea returned to calm, as if those two terrifying creatures, capable of destroying a small town, had never appeared.
The command room was completely silent.
"...That's it?" Lin Qiye was stunned for a long time before finally managing to utter two words.
"After all that, it was all bark and no bite."
He said that, but his heart was in turmoil.
This method of attack, which directly erases the enemy from the data level, is simply unheard of.
"Beautiful," Wu Hen gave a fair assessment.
"What a pity..." An Qingyu muttered to herself, her face full of regret.
The female member glanced at him: "Engineer An, the weapon's power exceeded expectations, which is a good thing."
"No, no, no, that's not what I'm talking about."
An Qingyu waved his hands repeatedly, then quickly walked up to the female member, a shy yet enthusiastic smile on his face.
"Sir, may I make a request?"
"explain."
“Targets hit by the ‘pixel’ beam, though decomposed, still possess their source code… no, their bio-information data,”
"A small portion will likely be temporarily retained by the system for analysis and archiving, right?"
"Yes."
"Then... could you copy those two sets of data for me?"
An Qingyu's eyes were frighteningly bright. He pushed up his glasses, his tone filled with longing.
"It's a pity the bodies are gone, but as long as I have the data, I can reverse engineer and reconstruct their biological models!"
"I want to see what the fundamental difference is between 'limitless' level cell structures and 'Klein' level structures!"
Lin Qiye's lips twitched as he looked at An Qingyu, who seemed to want to crawl into the lab right now.
"You little rascal, you just want to dissect a little toy, don't you?"
An Qingyu's smile grew even brighter.
A hint of madness flickered in his deep eyes: "Instructor Lin, isn't the pursuit of knowledge the primary driving force for progress?"
The female member hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded: "Okay. I'll give you the data port access."
"awesome!"
An Qingyu clenched her fist excitedly, turned around and ran towards her laboratory, her steps as light as a child who had received a favorite candy.
Wu Hen watched his retreating figure, his brows furrowing slightly.
"This person is a bit abnormal."
"It's more than just abnormal."
Lin Qiye yawned, reverting to his lazy demeanor, and stretched.
"He's crazy."
"However, he's a useful madman."
He added meaningfully, "It's best not to bother him for the next few days."
“Once this guy enters the lab, he becomes a different person.”
