Slaying God: I, the insane and witty god

Chapter 1026 Ashes Fall, Who Holds the Chess?

Lin Qiye couldn't see what that thing was.

But just as he was trying to focus, an excruciating itch exploded from deep within his skin, instantly engulfing his entire body.

"Damn it!" Lin Qiye cursed under his breath, his attention forced to be pulled back from the river of time to reality.

It wasn't just itching; it was followed by a burning, excruciating pain.

He looked down and saw what appeared to be countless tiny red worms writhing wildly beneath his skin.

The bulges made him look like a honeycomb about to burst.

"It's the erosion of 'ashes'!"

Wu Hen, standing to the side, let out a muffled groan; his condition was equally dire.

The veins on his forehead bulged, clearly showing that he was using strong willpower to fight against the collapse of his body.

An Qingyu was nailed to a cross, her body also covered in ashes.

The tiny red worms were crawling all over him, and they were about to burrow into his body.

"Damn it!" Lin Qiye gritted his teeth, the excruciating pain almost making him faint, but he knew he couldn't give up now.

With his last ounce of strength, he roared at the sky: "Somersault Cloud!"

The next moment, a golden cloud appeared out of thin air, streaking precisely across the sky.

The crucified fish, along with the heavy instruments of torture, was rolled up and then slammed to the ground with a whooshing sound.

boom--!

The cross hit the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Almost simultaneously, the skin of Lin Qiye and Wu Hen could no longer withstand the strain.

One by one, bloody pustules burst open with a "pop pop pop," splattering foul-smelling blood and shattered red insect corpses everywhere.

The two were covered in blood, looking like demons who had just crawled out of hell.

Lin Qiye's legs went weak, and he collapsed to the ground, panting heavily. His eyes were filled with exhaustion and fear from surviving the ordeal.

He felt like there wasn't a single good piece of flesh on his body, and even moving a finger was difficult.

Wu Hen wasn't much better off; he leaned against a rock and sat down.

His chest heaved violently, but his eyes remained frighteningly calm as he stared intently at An Qingyu, who had just landed.

The worm holes on the Anqing fish's body are healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

He broke free from the cross, stood up, and walked towards the two with somewhat unsteady steps.

He looked very calm, as if he hadn't just been on the verge of death.

"How are you all?" An Qingyu asked, her voice completely calm.

"I won't die." Lin Qiye grinned, pulling at the wound on his face, causing him to gasp in pain.

"It almost became a nest of insects. What about you?"

"It's all healed now." An Qingyu looked down at her perfectly healed skin.

Super-fast regeneration. What an enviable ability that's so convenient.

The valley was deathly silent. The eerie river of time, along with the two figures from the future, had vanished as if they had never existed.

But the phrase "the game is not over" was like a poisoned needle, deeply embedded in Lin Qiye's heart.

He struggled to sit up, looking at An Qingyu's calm and indifferent face, but in the end he couldn't help himself.

"Little Fish, just now... that future me, and that future you..."

He wanted to ask, why would his future self kill him?

He wanted to ask, why will you protect me in the future?

He wanted to ask, what the hell are you guys doing?

But before he could finish speaking, An Qingyu interrupted him.

"The future is a matter for the future."

An Qingyu's gaze did not waver in the slightest; she looked directly at Lin Qiye, her tone indifferent yet leaving no room for argument.

"I will always be me."

With one sentence, all of Lin Qiye's questions were shut down.

Lin Qiye opened his mouth, but looking into An Qingyu's unfathomable eyes, he suddenly couldn't say a word.

He knew that he wouldn't get any more information by asking further.

An Qingyu didn't want to talk, and no one could get him to open his mouth.

"Row."

Lin Qiye was silent for a few seconds, then suddenly gave a nonchalant smile and waved his hand with a roguish air.

"Got it. I can't be bothered with all that nonsense about the future. The most important thing right now is to get Yuzu and the others out of here."

He acted as if he were truly at peace, but only he knew that the seed of doubt had already taken root and sprouted in his heart.

An Qingyu, what are you hiding?

Wu Hen, who was standing to the side, remained silent throughout; he simply listened quietly.

He looked like an outsider, but the glint in his eyes showed that he had memorized every detail.

"Let's go." An Qingyu nodded, agreeing to Lin Qiye's suggestion.

Lin Qiye took a deep breath and used all his strength to support himself as he stood up. The excruciating pain all over his body almost made him kneel down again.

He shook his head, forcing himself to clear his head, and turned around to try and determine the direction.

Just as he turned around...

He seemed to catch a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye.

At the edge of the misty valley in the distance, where ash meets darkness, a black hooded figure stands silently.

The figure was blurry, like a shadow blending into the darkness.

But Lin Qiye's heart suddenly stopped beating at that moment.

It's the future Anqingyu!

He was watching this place silently from a great distance.

Lin Qiye turned around abruptly and stared intently in that direction!

But there was nothing there, only swirling mist and deathly silence.

It was as if everything he had just seen was merely a hallucination after he had exhausted himself.

But the chilling feeling of being spied on clung to him like a maggot, climbing up his spine and straight to the top of his head.

Lin Qiye's steps froze on the spot.

"What's wrong?" An Qingyu noticed his unusual behavior and turned around to ask.

Lin Qiye did not answer, but stared intently at the mist, feeling as if half of his blood had turned cold.

In the wind, there seemed to be a faint whisper, so light it was as if it were his own illusion.

I'm not looking at you...

Lin Qiye's pupils contracted, and he abruptly turned his head to look at Wu Hen beside him.
