Chapter 42 Watching a Drama

Zhizi, who was hiding in the corner, looked at Lingyue who was hugging Sasuke's arm. Sasuke didn't look forced at all, and his face was happy and gentle. The girl was also holding the hand of the man who was said to be the first generation Hokage. Even the second generation, who always had a cold face, looked at her with a gentle expression. She was really a happy girl.

"Isn't it time to give up?" a man nearby said. "This young woman named Lingyue is a high-ranking figure in Konoha. While this has a lot to do with her background, she was outstanding in the battles to protect the village. She will definitely be a pillar of the village in the future."

"I will go back and arrange the marriage." Zhizi looked at the backs of those people. She felt so far away from them. Zhizi had a look of disillusionment on her face, and the distance between her and Lingyue and the others was getting bigger and bigger.

On the day of the Autumn Festival, Lingyue came out wearing a kimono, a custom-made one for the Uchiha clan. It was still dark blue, but Lingyue's had dark patterns and the Uchiha clan crest on the back. Holding Sasuke's arm, Lingyue looked at the bustling surroundings with a smile on her face.

"There's a fireworks display today, and Madara-sama and the others have already gone to grab their seats."

"I thought Dad wouldn't go." Lingyue was obviously in a good mood because Ban would go.

"Don't eat so much at night, it's easy to get indigestion." Sasuke fed Lingyue with octopus balls.

"Okay, you can eat some too." Lingyue fed one to Sasuke.

The two of them sweetly made their way to Madara's seat. Lingyue walked over to sit down in front of Madara, whose simple disguise allowed him to pass for no one in the dim light. Sasuke sat on Lingyue's other side. Soon everyone had gathered, and the people around them didn't seem to mind the presence of two First and Second Generation members, simply treating it as a bit of fun. Lingyue was clearly delighted. The bright light from the fireworks flickered on her face, and Madara's lips curled slightly. Konoha didn't seem so annoying anymore.

This slight episode just passed like this. It was the calm before the storm of the Four Kingdoms War. The Kages of the five villages were preparing for the Five Kage Conference. Because Lingyue was needed to stay behind in Konoha, she did not go, but Shisui and the others went. It was really strange that the four of Uchiha Madara said they had something to do and left Konoha temporarily. Although Lingyue was confused, she was not worried about them. As for their combat power, well, she was quite relieved.

Lingyue was dealing with the Hokage's files, which were much more than those of the Anbu. Fortunately, Hashirama and Tobirama assisted and helped, and Sasuke helped Lingyue in secret. In fact, such days were pretty good. It might be better if it weren't for the noise of Naruto.

"Yu'er, you are becoming more and more capable of becoming a Hokage." Hashirama was very proud of his daughter as she watched her review documents seriously.

"When the Fourth Hokage retires, I'm afraid I won't have the experience to be Hokage." Ling Yue tactfully expressed that she didn't want to be Hokage.

"Indeed, the Fourth Hokage is still in his prime, strong and energetic. When he retires, someone more suitable to be the Hokage may appear."

"So, as long as I can help out occasionally when the Fourth Hokage is not around, it's okay. My personality is not suitable for being a Hokage."

"Yue'er's personality is somewhat similar to that of the eldest brother. He's too kind and easily softened. Konoha needs someone with strong means to lead the charge, otherwise other ninja villages will think Konoha is easy to bully and manipulate. The Fourth Hokage may look so smiling, but he's actually a tough guy at heart, otherwise so many people wouldn't be afraid of him."

"During the Third War, members of other ninja villages could abandon their missions without being held accountable if they encountered the Fourth. So, the 'Golden Flash' is more than just talk. Furthermore, he created a Rasengan that rivaled the Tailed Beast Ball upon seeing it, and perfected its use in just three years. Even though he had no backing, so many people supported him to become Hokage. This shows just how powerful he is."

"Yuer, Lord Hashirama, Lord Tobirama, it's time for lunch." Sasuke went back and brought the packed lunch over.

"It's time to eat. Let's see what Miqin's mom prepared for lunch." Lingyue couldn't wait to open the lunch box. "It's my favorite spicy fish. It's delicious."

"Yu'er, can you bear eating such spicy food?" Zhujian has always been afraid of Lingyue's taste. Even if the food is so spicy that it makes your mouth burn, she seems to be fine.

"It's fine." Lingyue ate the bright red spicy fish, looking at it as if it were a normal dish, without changing her expression. "Eating chili peppers regularly helps detoxify and replenish vitamin C. Would you like some, Mom?"

"No, I think my salmon sushi is delicious." Hashirama quickly took a bite of the salmon sushi, fearing that Lingyue would pick the spicy fish for him.

Seeing Hashirama eat the fish honestly, Tobirama and Lingyue finally felt relieved. It seemed that Lingyue really had studied Hashirama thoroughly. The four of them happily ate their lunch boxes. Hashirama rarely ate the meat in the lunch box clean, thanks to Lingyue's "help".

"I wonder why my uncle and the others left the village? They have been gone for so long and haven't come back." Ling Yue said.

"Maybe it's too boring in Konoha, so I went out of the village to have a look." Tobirama seemed to know something?

"Anyway, you don't have to worry about their safety, but you should worry about the safety of others." Hashirama said.

"Yeah, with my uncle's personality, it's good enough he doesn't mess with others. And why is the document about the villagers' quarrel in the Hokage's office? Does the Hokage even handle these matters? Isn't this the Guard's job?" Lingyue suddenly saw such a document and started complaining. Upon closer inspection, wow, this guy's still alive? Utatane Koharu, no wonder the Guard sent the document to the Hokage. "Uncle, it seems your former disciple doesn't want to retire just yet." Lingyue placed the document in Tobirama's hands.

"This Xiaochun just won't give up." Tobirama frowned and looked at the document in his hand.

"This is just a matter of stalls. Hasn't Konoha implemented the issuance of stall permits? As long as it doesn't affect traffic and the surrounding environment, you can set up a stall, right?" Ling Yue said.

"Koharu is clearly trying to protect her own clansmen. The Senju and Uchiha clans have fallen on hard times, but these former smaller clans are prospering. They're like leeches sucking Konoha's blood. How disgusting!" Tobirama wouldn't show mercy to anyone who hindered Konoha's development, even if they were his students. "I'll handle it myself and teach them a lesson."

"Then I'll trouble you, uncle."

Lingyue didn't know how Tobirama handled the situation, but she knew that the Utatane family had finally begun to decline, following in the footsteps of the Senju and Uchiha clans. Lingyue didn't dwell on it for long, as Madara and the others had returned to the village. The four of them looked relaxed, as if they hadn't gotten into any trouble or provoked anyone outside.

"Dad seems to be in a good mood. Did something happy happen?"

"Well, is it that obvious?"

"Dad, you are questioning your daughter's intelligence. Anyone looking at you now will know that you are in a good mood."

"I can't tell you now, but I'm just teaching someone I don't like a lesson."

"Oh."

"Don't worry, I'll tell you after a while." Seeing my precious daughter's visibly depressed mood, I couldn't bear it.

"Okay. Little uncle, you can't eat dessert anymore. You have already eaten up today's portion. Uncle, please take care of little uncle." Lingyue held up the plate with dessert high. Because Quannai was shorter than Lingyue, Quannai couldn't get it.

"You can't eat anymore. Big brother used a great recovery spell on you yesterday." Qianshou Tobirama took the dessert from Lingyue's hand, and Izunai could no longer reach it. Izunai watched helplessly as her beloved dessert was put into the refrigerator, because putting it in the refrigerator meant that she could only eat the delicious dessert tomorrow. Then Tobirama said something in Izunai's ear, and Izunai's eyes suddenly lit up, and Tobirama's face turned red. Lingyue didn't know what the two of them were doing. But the next day, when she saw Qianshou Tobirama coming out holding his waist, Izunai looked refreshed.

Lingyue and Sasuke were dragged by Hashirama and Tobirama to see a geisha performance. Lingyue had never been fond of geisha in the three-dimensional world; after all, her country's renowned ten national treasures held no interest in them. But seeing the two elders' enthusiasm, Lingyue forced herself to watch. The stern geisha, with their exaggerated, dead-white paint and methodical performance, made Lingyue yawn frequently. Despite their dedication, Lingyue felt completely uninterested, feeling somewhat sorry for the geisha's efforts. Fortunately, the stand-up comedians were engaging, making Lingyue chuckle and laugh. It was quite amusing, and to Lingyue's surprise, there was a Peking Opera performance, which perked her up even more. Every move had a distinctly Chinese flavor. Lingyue reflected on the customs and folkways of the Naruto world, a blend of everyday life and her own country's own. The inclusion of Peking Opera made sense. "Good..." There was a round of applause, and the guests threw their belongings onto the stage as a sign of respect for the leading actor. Ling Yue walked straight up, made a formal bow to the man, and placed the silver in his hand into his.
