Qingyao's eyes were red with tears welling up in them. She said with trembling lips, "We clearly have made three rules, but you? You broke them so easily! Ever since we left the palace and set out on the journey to Hangzhou, I have been serving you wholeheartedly along the way. If you are unwilling, you could have told me earlier! Why torture me like this? Now look, I'm pregnant, but you are entangled with other women behind my back..." At this point, Qingyao could no longer suppress her inner grief, and tears rolled down her cheeks like a broken dam.

Kangxi's face was filled with guilt. He hurried forward to hug Qingyao, but Qingyao dodged him. "Now that things have come to this, what else do you have to say?" Qingyao burst into tears. Kangxi sat down on the bed and said, "My dear, it's my fault. I thought it was Cao Yin who sent the soup. The woman was sent by Li Xu. I didn't expect that she would put drugs in the soup. That's why I did this."

Qingyao sneered, "Your Majesty, please stop making up excuses to deceive me. Why would that woman appear here for no reason? And bring a drugged soup with her?"

Kangxi hurriedly explained, "I swear by the Emperor that I will not lie. When I woke up, I realized I had fallen into a trap and had the woman imprisoned." Qingyao was slightly startled, her eyes still filled with doubt. Seeing this, Kangxi hurriedly grasped Qingyao's hand and said, "My dear, I know this has broken your heart, but my love for you is evident to all. I've grown accustomed to your company along the way. I only hope you can forgive me this time."

Qingyao gently withdrew her hand and looked out the window. "Your Majesty's words are true, and I hope they are true this time. But I am exhausted both physically and mentally. I just want to take good care of my pregnancy. Please, Your Majesty, return home." Kangxi had no choice but to stand up. "I will give you time. I will prove my sincerity." With that, he slowly walked out of the room. Qingyao watched Kangxi's retreating back, feeling a mixture of emotions. Her hand unconsciously touched her abdomen, and she secretly pondered how to face Kangxi and this complicated situation in the future.

A few days later, Qingyao was walking in the garden when she was suddenly stopped by a woman.

Chunyu hurriedly protected her own queen behind her: "My queen, be careful."

Qingyao looked up and saw the woman with a pretty face, but a stubborn look in her eyes. The woman bowed and said, "Greetings, Your Majesty. I, Wang, was the one who brought you the soup that day."

Qingyao frowned: "What are you doing here? Are you trying to harm me again?"

Wang quickly shook her head: "Your Majesty has misunderstood. I wanted to ask you to accept me, but now I have lost my innocence..." Qingyao snorted coldly: "What does your loss of innocence have to do with me?

Wang's eyes were filled with tears. "Your Majesty, to be honest, I was forced to do this. It was a conspiracy between Lord Li and my father."

Qingyao: "Wang, you've got the wrong person. I can't make the decision for the Emperor. Whether or not to accept you is the Emperor's business, and it has nothing to do with me."

Upon hearing this, Wang fell to the ground again and pleaded bitterly, "Your Majesty, I ask for nothing more than to be your servant. I know you are kind-hearted and will not drive me away."

Qingyao: "I don't need a maid. Chunyu, go prepare the carriage and we'll go back to the palace."

Chunyu was holding Qingyao's hand as they were about to walk towards the carriage when Kangxi came towards them. Seeing the scene before him, Kangxi asked, "Qingqing, where are you going?"

Qingyao bowed slightly and said in a firm tone: "I plan to return to the capital. I hope Your Majesty can take good care of the people around you and don't let them bother me again. Now I am pregnant and I am unable to deal with these trivial matters. I just want to take care of the baby peacefully and give birth to a son (or princess) for Your Majesty." After that, Qingyao gently stroked her not-so-obvious belly, her face revealing a hint of maternal tenderness and expectation for her future child.

Kangxi looked troubled. "My dear, I will take care of this matter myself. You don't have to worry about it. I know you've been wronged, but it's not appropriate for you to travel around right now. You should stay in Hangzhou and rest assured to take care of your baby."

Qingyao remained unmoved: "Your Majesty, I appreciate your kindness, but I have made up my mind." Kangxi sighed: "Then I will return to the capital with you so that I can take care of you on the way."

Qingyao bowed slightly and said softly, "Your Majesty, there is really no need to do this. I can handle it all by myself. Haven't you always wanted to travel and enjoy the beautiful scenery? Please don't change your original plan because of me! Besides, I am pregnant now, and it is inconvenient for me to move around. I really can't serve Your Majesty as wholeheartedly as before. But fortunately, Wang is here with you now. I believe she will take good care of Your Majesty, and I feel relieved." After that, Qingyao didn't give the emperor a chance to reply. She quickly turned around and reached out to support Chunyu beside her.

She walked towards the gate of Cao's mansion with somewhat disorderly steps, got on the carriage, and completely ignored the people chasing after her.

With a crisp crack of the driver's whip, the carriage slowly started, its wheels rolling forward, kicking up a cloud of dust. Sitting inside, Qingyao peered out the window at the receding Cao Mansion, a mixture of emotions welling up within her, yet her face remained calm and composed. And so, the carriage, carrying Qingyao and Chunyu, sped along, heading towards the capital.

After several days of carriage travel, Qingyao's condition worsened. One day, while resting at an inn, she encountered an assassin. Chunyu desperately defended her, shouting, "You thieves! Who ordered you to kill me?" The assassins showed no fear. Just in the nick of time, a group of secret guards arrived and repelled the assassins. It turned out that Kangxi, worried about her, had sent them for protection. While Qingyao was grateful for Kangxi's kindness, she still struggled to let go of the previous incident.

When they finally arrived in the capital after a long journey, Qingyao raised her head slightly and looked at the familiar and bustling streets. A complex emotion surged in her heart. She turned her head and whispered to Chunyu beside her, "Chunyu, let's not go back to the palace, let's go directly to Hesheli Mansion. I really miss my mother so much these days! Besides, Chenghu and his wife are already living in the palace now. If I rashly return to the palace, I'm afraid it will be inconvenient and not very appropriate." After saying this, Qingyao sighed softly, and a hint of sadness and helplessness appeared in her eyes.
