Rebirth of His Royal Highness Prince Chenghu
Chapter 245
Qingyao bowed slightly, her beautiful eyes filled with tenderness and anticipation as she softly said, "Your Majesty, it's almost noon. I'm thinking, why not let Chenghu and the others stay so we can dine together as a family?"
After hearing Qingyao's words, Kangxi looked up at the children around him, and a smile appeared on his lips: "Okay."
Qingyao was delighted and quickly ordered the maids and eunuchs to prepare the meal. Soon, the table was filled with exquisite dishes. Little Hongyao obediently served food to Kangxi, saying in a childish voice, "Mafa, this is delicious. Try it." Kangxi was in a good mood and ate it with a smile.
Qingyao smiled, eyes full of love as she gazed at little Hongyao. "Little Hongyao is such a filial and good child!" Then, she gently raised her hand and caressed his round, furry head. As Qingyao caressed him, Hongyao tilted his head back slightly, a smile of happiness and contentment filling his face. His large, clear, bright eyes blinked like twinkling stars in the night sky. The sunlight, shining down on them, illuminated this warm and beautiful scene even more beautifully.
Chenghu lowered his voice slightly, leaned close to his brother's ear, and whispered: "Baocheng, did you see that? Now that Father and Mother have a grandson, I'm afraid they have forgotten about us two biological sons! Back then, they loved and cared about us in every way. But now, all they have in their eyes and hearts is that little Hongyao, and we two brothers are almost neglected!" After saying that, he pouted pitifully, as if he had really suffered a great injustice.
Yinreng shook his head helplessly and said to Chenghu, "Brother, he is your own son! How can you be jealous of him? It's really ridiculous." As he spoke, he sighed softly, as if he felt a little confused and helpless about his brother's strange reaction.
Upon hearing this, Chenghu grumbled, "I was just joking, but you took it so seriously, Baocheng." Everyone laughed at this. Kangxi then put down his chopsticks and looked at Chenghu and Yinreng, his expression becoming more serious. "You are both my sons. Don't let trivial matters create discord between you. My love for you has never diminished." Chenghu and Yinreng quickly stood up and saluted. Qingyao chimed in, saying, "Yes, the most important thing for a family is harmony." After dinner, everyone went for a stroll in the garden. Little Hongyao, skipping and pulling his brother ahead, chased a butterfly, and continued to enjoy the garden with Kangxi. Laughter and joy echoed throughout the garden.
As they were walking, little Hongyao accidentally fell and burst into tears. Qingyao rushed forward to check on him, feeling distressed. Kangxi also hurried over and comforted him, saying, "Hongyao, don't cry." Little Hongyao sobbed and threw himself into Qingyao's arms.
Chenghu looked at his mother and said softly, "Mother, you have worked hard. Let your son come and I will make Hongyao happy." After that, he walked forward quickly, took his son Hongyao from his mother's arms and coaxed him softly.
Qingyao said softly, "Your Majesty, look, our Chenghu has grown up now and has become a father! He was just a little baby back then, but now he is so big. Time flies!" She said while looking at her son.
Kangxi nodded slightly in agreement, his deep, wise eyes slowly sweeping across the assembled princes. Feeling the emperor's commanding gaze, each one unconsciously straightened their backs. However, when his gaze finally rested on a few individuals, the emotion within subtly shifted—a sense of relief and contentment radiating from within.
Kangxi smiled and said softly, "Each of my sons has his own unique qualities, but if we talk about the truly outstanding ones, it is these princes born to you, my dear."
After hearing the emperor's words, Qingyao bowed and thanked him: "Your Majesty, thank you for your praise. It's all thanks to your good teaching." Kangxi waved his hand and continued walking forward. Everyone followed behind him.
