Chenghu followed his father into the Qianqing Palace: "Huh, it's really cold outside." He rubbed his frozen ears.

Kangxi: "Is it that cold?" He sat down directly on the dragon chair behind the imperial desk, picked up the teacup and took a sip.

Cheng Hu sat on a chair nearby and said, "Why aren't you cold anymore? Father, you're wearing a cloak and a hand warmer, and your legs are covered with a blanket. How can you feel cold sitting on the couch?"

Kangxi narrowed his eyes slightly, a faint smile playing on the corners of his mouth. He said slowly, "Look, even so, your mother is still worried about whether I will be cold." He shook his head gently, as if he felt a little helpless about this excessive concern, but deep in his eyes, a subtle warmth and satisfaction were clearly revealed.

Chenghu looked at Kangxi with envy, then his gaze slowly turned to the pastries on the table and he swallowed quietly.

Kangxi noticed Chenghu's little action and found it funny. He said with a deliberately stern face, "What are you looking at? Are you hungry?"

Cheng Hu quickly averted his gaze and shook his head, "No, son is not hungry."

Kangxi snorted softly, "Not hungry? Then why are you staring at the snacks in my hand?" Then he pushed a plate of snacks in front of Chenghu and said, "Eat."

Chenghu's eyes lit up, and after thanking Kangxi, he picked up a piece of cake and put it into his mouth without hesitation.

Kangxi: "After you finish eating, go to the East Warm Pavilion and finish reading the memorials."

Chenghu devoured the entire plate of pastries in a few bites, then burped contentedly. He glanced at Kangxi, seeing him absorbed in his reading, and quietly stood up, tiptoeing out.

However, just as he reached the door, he heard Kangxi's voice: "Stop, did I let you go?

Cheng Hu was startled, and quickly turned around, saying with a smile: "Hey, Father, I just want to go see my brothers."

Kangxi put down the book in his hand and looked up at him. "I still remember that I asked you to go to the East Warm Pavilion to read the memorials. Why, have you forgotten?"

Chenghu scratched his head and said, "Oh, son, I'll go right away. I'll go right away." After saying that, he ran out.

Kangxi looked at his back, shook his head helplessly, and sighed in his heart: This child is becoming more and more unreasonable.

Kunning Palace Bedroom

Qingyao sat on the chaise longue and looked out the window: "I wonder if my husband has finished his morning court and had his meal yet."

Qiu Shuang raised her hand and knocked gently on the door: "My Lady, would you like some food?"

Qingyao: "Qiushuang, have someone go to the Qianqing Palace and ask if His Majesty has sent any food."

Qiu Shuang: "Yes, Madam."

Qingyao: "Dongmei, tell the kitchen to make some ginseng chicken soup, something His Majesty would love."

Dongmei: "Yes, Madam, I will go right away."

Qingyao: "Xia He, prepare breakfast. I'm going to take it to His Majesty." She put on her cloak, took a hand warmer, and went out of the bedroom to the Qianqing Palace.

Xia He had someone bring a food box and personally held an umbrella for the Empress to shield her from the snow: "Empress, please go slowly."

Qianqing Palace

When Wei Zhu saw the visitor, he knelt down and saluted, saying in a deep voice, "Your servant pays respects to the Empress."

Qingyao: "Get up, is His Majesty here?"

Wei Zhu: "Your Majesty, the Emperor is here."

Liang Jiugong heard the voice and came out to see the person coming: "Your servant pays respects to the Empress."

Qingyao: "Get up, His Majesty, is it time for dinner?"

Liang Jiugong: "Not yet, I'm just about to serve the meal."

Qingyao: "Then you don't have to go. I brought it with me."

Liang Jiugong: "Your Majesty, if you have something to do in this heavy snow, just send someone. Why do you have to come here in person?" He raised his hand, opened the door and invited the person in.

Qingyao walked in and saluted the person sitting above: "Your Highness, I pay my respects to you. May you be blessed with good health."

Kangxi looked up when he heard the voice and said, "Qingqing, please get up quickly. It's snowing. Why are you here?"

Qingyao: "Thank you, Your Majesty. I thought you hadn't eaten yet after the morning court session, so I brought you breakfast."

Kangxi stood up from his seat and walked to her step by step. He gently stretched out his hands and helped her take off the heavy cloak, then turned around and handed it to the servant who was serving beside her.

After doing all this, Kangxi leaned over slightly, stared into her eyes, and asked with concern: "Are you cold? I know you are most afraid of the cold. Why did you not care about yourself today and ran out rashly?" His voice was low and magnetic, with deep care and love in it.

Qingyao raised her head slightly and smiled coquettishly, "Fortunately, I have a hand warmer that my husband specially gifted me. However, I am worried about you. I am afraid that you are so busy that you don't even have time for breakfast."

Kangxi frowned slightly and said earnestly: "Just take this hand warmer. Our prince came to court early this morning without even having breakfast." As he spoke, he shook his head gently, with a hint of pity in his eyes.
