"No, I never thought about it..." Su Ming murmured softly, as if he had suddenly surfaced from the depths of the ocean. The true feelings within him made him feel a little breathless. He didn't want to embarrass Zheng Yaoxian too much, didn't want to put him in an awkward position. But he also knew he couldn't continue to pretend nothing had happened.

He didn't want to take any drastic action, or even force Zheng Yaoxian to explain anything. The Zheng Yaoxian before him was still the comrade he once trusted, the man who had fought alongside him countless times, facing death and hardship together. He didn't harbor much hatred. Instead, he felt more confusion, helplessness, and a hint of unspoken bewilderment.

"You're right," Su Ming paused, his voice gradually steadying. "I haven't thought about this." His eyes grew deep, as if he were contemplating something. Yes, he hadn't thought about it. He simply relied on the trust he had in the past, not considering the dark side behind it.

Zheng Yaoxian was silent for a moment, then finally moved. He sighed softly, his voice still untouchable and calm. "I'm glad you understand." His tone was a hint of fatigue, yet firm. "Brother Ming, I never meant to hurt you. In fact, there are some things I can't help. I have to do this."

Su Ming's heart suddenly surged with mixed emotions. Helpless? He didn't fully understand Zheng Yaoxian's current predicament, but he could sense the sincerity and powerlessness in his words. He slowly removed his hand from the table, his fingertips tracing the yellowed documents, and his heart began to waver.

"Why did you involve me?" He couldn't help but ask, his tone a little urgent. "Don't you understand that those people behind this are not under your control, and I shouldn't be involved in it at all?"

Zheng Yaoxian's voice rang out again, as if coming through the door, soft and incredibly clear. "You've been involved in this for a long time, Brother Ming. You know better than anyone that no one can escape this unscathed." He paused, his voice deepening. "If you want to escape unscathed, the only way is to leave. Otherwise, all suspicion and all danger will follow you until there's no turning back."

"What should I do?" Su Ming asked, almost unconsciously. Hearing Zheng Yaoxian's response, he suddenly felt drawn into this complex situation, unable to escape. His rationality and composure began to dissipate, replaced by an endless sense of confusion and exhaustion. He knew Zheng Yaoxian wasn't going to lay everything out before him, yet he kept hinting at a truth he hadn't yet grasped.

Zheng Yaoxian seemed to hear the uneasiness in his voice and said softly, "Brother Ming, many times, we all make choices. But with some choices, once we choose you, there's no turning back." This sentence almost made Su Ming's nerves tense. Zheng Yaoxian did not continue, but remained silent, as if waiting for Su Ming's response.

Su Ming stared fixedly at the door, his heart silent. He knew he was trapped in an inescapable vortex. Every step was filled with uncertainty, every decision could lead to his own death. Yet, he didn't want to harm Zheng Yaoxian. He even began to doubt whether he could truly rid Zheng Yaoxian of all his troubles and crises.

"Zheng Yaoxian," Su Ming suddenly spoke, his voice so low it was almost inaudible, "I don't want to embarrass you."

Su Ming felt like he was being suffocated by the pressure. The situation before him was suffocating him. He stood in the room, silently listening to Zheng Yaoxian's final words, his mind swirling with thoughts. Every word stung him deeply. No one behind him could truly provide answers. Every step seemed to lead to a more complicated situation, and he could no longer turn back.

He knew he could no longer close his eyes and avoid everything, he could no longer live in the trust of the past, he could no longer turn a blind eye to everything. He felt an indescribable heaviness spreading from the depths of his heart, a feeling that suffocated him, but he had to face it. He could no longer avoid his responsibilities, he could no longer indulge in past beliefs. He knew that the only way to face all this was to get out of this predicament, to face it, and to deal with it.

At that moment, he felt a powerful resolve and urge surge within him. He decided—he would go to his master and tell him the whole truth, all his doubts, all his confusion. He could no longer hide it from him. No matter what the outcome, this time, he had to face it head-on.

Su Ming glanced back across the room, his gaze fixed on the documents on the table. His eyes flickered slightly, his fingers tightly grasping the well-worn document. The paper was yellowed, the edges curled, as if it had been with him for a long time. He felt a complex, inexplicable feeling well up within him. Zheng Yaoxian, what was he hiding? And had he already been swept up in this endless storm?

He took a deep breath and finally made a decision. No matter what, the doubts hidden in his heart had to be resolved. And perhaps only the master could untie this knot.

Su Ming's steps were steady and resolute as he left the room. He didn't look back, nor did his eyes betray a trace of hesitation. Though his heart was still filled with anxiety and uneasiness, his resolve, like a flame within him, propelled him forward. He knew that only by telling his master the truth could he truly gain answers, free himself from the cloud of doubt, and regain some sanity.

The streets remained silent. Lights streamed in through the windows, casting irregular shadows on the ground. Su Ming stared down at the tips of his shoes, his eyes like a lone wolf swallowed by the night. Unease welled up in his heart. Those words flashed through his mind: "Someone's watching you from behind." Every time he recalled them, he felt a chill.

"Master, where are you?" Su Ming stood at the familiar doorway, his gaze complex, almost peering through the door to see every inch of the room. He knew his master was always hidden, like an untouchable puzzle. But at this moment, the mysteries in his mind were too numerous and too complex.

The door opened, and an old face appeared before him. His hair was white, and his wrinkles were deep, but his eyes were still as sharp as a knife. His eyes were like a deep pool. Although he was old, he still revealed a majesty that could not be ignored.

"You're here, Ming." The master's voice was low and steady, with a calmness accumulated over the years. "Come in, let's talk it over." His gaze lingered on Su Ming for a moment, as if he had seen something from his nervous expression.
